Princess Eleanor was silent. The carriage stopped at a distance making them both look outside.
"Nia see what is wrong." Princess Eleanor said as her eyes looked outside the window. She could see that the people from the Roulux Empire were surrounding Lady Gisella's carriage.
Nia went outside and she asked a guard, "What is the matter?"
"Lady Gisella is not feeling well. She does not have a lady by her side." The guard did not know how to explain it. His eyes were filled with confusion making Nia unable to understand the situation.
"Let me see." Nia walked towards the carriage as she saw Lady Gisella and Sir Kit in the carriage. The Lady's eyes were shallow and she was feeling uncomfortable.
Nia was well aware of such symptoms. She knew that Lady Gisella needed to drink a tonic and sleep comfortably to feel better.
Making a tonic was not a big thing. Nia as a lady in waiting had packed medicinal herbs as well in fear of Princess Eleanor getting sick. But how could Lady Gisella sleep when Sir Kit was in the carriage?
Nia did not know what to do at that time. It was better to ask the Princess to find a solution.
But before Nia could go back to the carriage she saw Princess Eleanor standing near the carriage looking inside.
"What is wrong with Lady Gisella?" Princess Eleanor looked at Lady Gisella but her question was addressed to Nia.
"The Lady might be suffering from uneasiness. It might be hurtful because of her old age."
"Do we have medicine?"
"Yes, Princess." Nia nodded her head as she continued, "I will make it right now. But she needs to sleep."
Princess Eleanor's gaze turned towards the side as she saw Sir Kit looking at her. She did not show much change in her expression as she commanded, "Make the medicine and stay with Lady Gisella."
"But Princess, how can I leave y…"
Nia was about to complete when she saw Princess Eleanor looking at her with a shapely gaze, "Sir Kit will accompany me."
"But Prin…" Nia swallowed her words when she saw the annoyance on Princess Eleanor's face. Asking the man who was not their knight to accompany the Princess was something that was looked down upon in the Kingdom.
Nia knew it. Even if someone had to accompany the Princess, it should be from their Kingdom but she also knew that the knights that the King assigned them did not like Princess Eleanor.
'The people in the Angevin Kingdom call her the fallen Princess.' Nia looked down as she nodded her head before turning back to make the medicine.
Nia did not waste any more time as she started mixing the things. As a lady in waiting she had learned a few recipes just in case Princess Eleanor was sick.
Nia's hand did not stop as she prepared the medicine before bringing it in Lady Gisella's carriage. But when she entered she could not find the Lady there, Only Princess Eleanor sat.
"Princess?" Nia was confused by this sudden change. Her eyes moved around as she struggled to find the Lady.
"Lady Gisella will be in my carriage. It had a lot of space and she could sleep comfortably there." Princess Eleanor explained as she smiled at Nia, "Take care of Lady Nia. We cannot go back with her being sick. It will bring a lot of criticism on us."
Nia nodded her head as she made her way to the carriage. As soon as she entered she saw Sir Kit looking at her in confusion, "Is this safe?"
Nia's mouth twitched. How could Sir Kit doubt her when she was ready to help. "Yes, I made it."
Nia said as she moved towards the Lady whose eyes were closed due to pain. She made Lady Gisella drink it softly as she looked at Sir Kit.
"Princess is alone in the carriage."
Nia's words held a silent meaning. She asked the knight to go and do his work as an escort.
Sir Kit sighed as he left the carriage before turning back and asking, "Will Lady Gisella be alright?"
Nia could sense that Sir Kit was really worried for the Lady. Although she knew that Lady Gisella was here by the order of the Emperor she could not understand her relationship with Sir Kit.
'Maybe Sir Kit is responsible for not only Princess Eleanor's safety but for the safety of Lady Gisella as well.' Nia nodded her head as she believed her thoughts.
"The lady is feeling uncomfortable due to the journey," Nia said as she made her drink a few more sips. Lady Gisella was not in a position to say anything or give her opinion to anyone. Her face was pale as one of her hands touched her stomach.
"But she did not show such symptoms when we came to the Angevin Kingdom from the Roulux Empire." Sir Kit said confidently. There were no symptoms then and now suddenly Lady Gisella was feeling unwell. He had his doubts but Nia's words made him think again.
"It happens when one travels to a different location. Lady Gisella is old and her body cannot adapt to changes well. Maybe she had eaten something that caused her to have such a reaction." Nia explained as she indicated to Sir Kit to go to Princess Eleanor again.
Sir Kit had no other choice but to accept Nia's explanation. He walked back towards the carriage as he looked back from time to time.
Soon Sir Kit's legs paused as he looked at the carriage that belonged to the Roulux Empire. I closed his eyes as he took a deep breath.
I was grateful to Princess Eleanor for suggesting switching the carriages but he also knew that he wanted to talk about something otherwise she would not have asked him to accompany her.
"Princess." Sir Kit bowed as he entered the carriage.
"Sir Kit. My trustworthy escort. I was waiting for you." Princess Eleanor's lips curled up as she rested her head on her hand looking straight at him.
