Princess Eleanor smiled as she waited for Sir Kit to sit on the carriage.
"The Princess was waiting for me?" Sir Kit said in a small tone. His eyes looked at Princess Eleanor as if he knew that she wanted to say something.
Soon the carriage started moving and Princess Eleanor could not help but smile, "Yes, I had something to talk about with Sir Kit." Her gaze fixed on the man as she continued, "But Sir Kit also seems to have some questions of his own. Why don't I start by answering it first."
Sir Kit nodded his head as he adjusted himself into a comfortable position. His eyes were sharp as she leaned a little forward, "The King has assigned the Princess two knights."
Princess Eleanor giggled as she looked outside the window. "Yes. But the knights are not there to protect me. They are there to observe and make sure that I reach the Empire safely,"
Princess Eleanor's lips curled up as her eyes narrowed, "Trust me, once their work is completed they will leave me behind and return back to the Angevin Kingdom."
Sir Kit did not continue with his question. Although he had a lot of things to say, he could see that Princess Eleanor was not in the position to satisfy his curious mind.
"The Princess should ask now." Sir Kit asked in a stiff tone. His gaze looked at Princess Eleanor as he waited for her to continue.
"I want to know about the Empire." Princess Eleanor said as she leaned a little forward. Her eyes turned sharp as she continued, "Tell me everything about the people. About the power struggle and about the once that would help me."
Sir Kit was silent. His gaze shivered as he swallowed. He could not understand what Princess Eleanor was getting at. "I will answer the questions but first Princess should tell me the reason why she wants to know the information."
Princess Eleanor giggled as her lips curled up, "I am going to enter a foreign land. I will need the most information that I could get. At least, enough to help me survive."
Sir Kit nodded his head. The words that Princess Eleanor said were believable. "Let's start with the royal family."
Princess Eleanor was eager to listen. Her body leaned forward as she waited for Sir Kit.
"The Kingsley family had ruled the Empire for a very long time. The exact date could not be determined but it is estimated that when the Empire was formed, it was the Kingsley family who ruled."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. She already knew that. What she wanted to know was a piece of deep information that only the people of the Roulux Empire know, not the one that could be found in the history books.
"But for a very long time, only one royal child survived in the Royal family. But the current Emperors' situation was different. There were two brothers and no one knew who would be the Emperor. But then there was a prophecy that said that only one could be the heir to the throne. If the decision was not mutual there would be destruction."
"So the current Emperor became the ruler? What about his brother?" Princess Eleanor asked as her eyes glinted.
"The other brother agreed to leave the throne so he was awarded the title of Grand Duke and the house of Beaumont was formed." Sir Kit explained.
"So House Beaumont has an equal right to the throne?" Princess Eleanor could not help but ask.
"It is true." Sir Kit nodded his head as his eyes narrowed, "But because of the Priest it was estimated that house Beaumont will be loyal to the throne."
"But the rumors say that the current Duke Beaumont and the Royal family are not on good terms." Princess Elanor smiled as she blinked her eyes. Although she did not know a lot of rumors, it was a very famous rumor surrounding the Empire for a long time. "And does the Temple play an important role in the Empire?"
The temple is the most powerful after the royal family. None of the prophecies that they had received had failed. All the citizens believe in them." Sir Kit said in a small voice, "And the rumors are not accurate. Although there is no friction between the royal family and house Beaumont, there is an unsaid rivalry."
"So Sir Kit belongs to the royal knights of the knights of Beaumont" Princess Eleanor could see the shock in Sir Kit's eyes. Although she could not see Sir Kit's face, she could imagine what he would be feeling, "It is a well-known fact that there are two powerful forces in the Empire and two knights group."
Sir Kit laughed as he relaxed, "It seems that the Princess is well aware of things. She doesn't need to dig the information from me."
"How is that possible? I still do not know which group Sir Kit belongs to."
Sir Kit's lips curled up as he said, "I belong to the knights of house Beaumont." Sir Kit smiled as he said in a small voice, "But we are loyal to the Empire. Although we follow Duke Beaumont's order, if the Duke wants us, we follow the Royal family's order too."
"So did Duke Beaumont give you an order to escort the Princesses?" Princess Eleanor asked with glittering eyes.
"Yes, The knights that are escorting the Princesses from the Kingdom all belong to House Beaumont." Sir Kit smiled as his eyes darkened, "After the Princesses are safely escorted to the Empire, our role ends. Once the Princesses enter the Royal Palace, the Royal Knights will take our place."
"So what about Sir Kit's place?" Princess Eleanor asked, "You have given me your words."
"I remember." Sir Kit's tone was small, "Although on the surface the Royal Knight will take my position, I will ensure that the Princess is safe. After all, I have given you my words."
