Lyla waited outside the surgery room for what felt like years, where a nurse made her sign a consensual form. She didn't know how many hours had passed by when Axel walked out of the surgery room with his surgery clothes on. She ran up to him when he walked out.
"My mom, how is she?" she asked him in a fearful tone.
"The surgery went well. We just need her to wake up." He told her and held her shoulder. "She's out of danger."
"Thank you. Thank you, doctor." She told him as she cried tears of relief. "I-I thought I was going to lose her forever."
Axel held her shoulder and made her sit down in the chair. He took out a note from his pocket and handed it out to her.
"Your mom was holding this in her hand. I thought it would be better if you held onto it." he told her.
She took the note and sniffed before she nodded.
"I have to go prepare for another surgery. I'll check on Nora in the ICU after I'm done." he told her.
