Daniel pretty much carried her all the way to the highest point in the whole city. Had her heart not throbbed so, she would have been amazed by the nighttime view of what had to be the most beautiful city she had ever seen.

The windows were just large enough that in absence of any safety measures, it would have been easy to fall out and meet a sudden stop down on the street.
"That is beautiful," Mariana said.
Then she said nothing more as Daniel grabbed her by her hair and flipped her on her back.
"Gods," he muttered as his mouth began a perilous journey down her neck. His stubble tickled her; his hot breath smelled fresh, like he had been preparing for this for ages.
"Still just as beautiful…" He chuckled into her hair.
