Chapter 3 - Lukewarm Christianity: what is it?

This video is for anyone who left the Christian faith due to child abuse and cults.

I have been learning a lot about cults, so, I want to shed some light on Christianity from the point of view of a Christian who hasn't been in a cult.

There are videos of cults that teach you about them in the description.

Lukewarm Christianity: what is it?

How do you spot it?

In the black community, it is known as being in the Church on Sunday and the club on Saturday.

It's when your heart is not solely given to God.

Lukewarm Christianity is basically when a Christian is sinning while trying to do religious Christian activities, claiming to be a Christian.

Lukewarm Christianity is a spectrum.

Lukewarm Christianity is a lot more serious than I originally thought but not because of its effects on the person who commits it.

It's extremely serious because of its effects on the Church as a whole.

Black Christians are affected by pastors who sin on an emotional level as they feel dejected but very few may leave the faith. On an estimate, one in 30 members may leave due to the pastor's actions and the leavers are usually men.

They may leave the church because the pastor molested a kid or because he fornicated and/or cheated on his wife.

This Lukewarm Christianity messes with our heads because we trust the pastor to be the holiest being to the point we put unrealistic expectations on him to be sinless.

It is even worse when the pastor is actively not just committing a one-time sin as a form of weakness like so many of us do, but habitually sinning on a constant continual basis.

It not only destroys faith in pastors but may even shatter a man's faith entirely.

This is especially bad because it means we as Christians, not just black ones, have put so much faith into man and not God.

These men are men and I will not put any judgment on them, we can't expect a pure human to be perfect.

We have to learn to forgive our pastors when they slip up and accept that it's their humanity and not God's fault and instead of making the pastor our focus, we make God our focus.

I had God help me out with this.

A really bad thing is that we Christians don't always read our bibles which I am guilty of.

This allows us to be led astray. Our pastors lie to us and tell us things that are not biblical and we are easily led to believe whatever he tells us.

The devil uses these wicked pastors who use our ignorance of the word of God to start cults.
