, Adah was the first to leave the office and she made it a point of duty to call on Munah in his office to tell him. He promised to leave as soon as he finished the report he is working on. He kissed her goodbye and she left. He worked on the reports and as he finished he decided to check on Mrs. Randolph who was still around. They have finally sent the list of transfers to the website and the heat around the empire is gradually rising. Mrs. Randolph made it a point that she wants to discuss with him but it must be in his office. As they entered his office, she sat down while Munah brought out a very large file and gave telling her that she should go through them before they can jointly talk about the agricultural project for the Adah Denson group. She was quite elated as she accepted it and stood up to leave but he stopped her telling her that he had other matters to discuss with her.
"Why have you been avoiding me lately, you don't call anymore or visit my office unlike before?" He asked looking at her. She came back and sat down crossing her leg.
"You can ask Adah... I think she knows." She said looking at him.
"How..." he stammered confusedly.
"Adah warned me to stay away from you. The warning was quite severe for she did not mince words." Mrs. Randolph explained which caught Munah off balance.
"When did this happen?" he inquired quite surprised at the revelation.
"I think the night of your quarrel..." She answered expressionlessly.
"I am deeply sorry for putting you through all these. I promise you, that I will not inform her of this conversation, please I am sorry." Munah said looking at her as she smiled at him as before.
"It was that night that I discovered that she is madly in love with you. please I want to beg you to take care of her. I discovered that she now has a ring on, I don't want to interfere in any way but sincerely Adah has a weakness and that is she can be stupid when in love. Treat her with understanding." She said imploringly.
"I will and thank you. I still feel that we should still be friends, I have come to see you like a sister I never had." Munah said truthfully.
"Thank you very much. I am honored. I promise that we will be as before but we will try not to raise her fears and suspicion. I love that lady but she never knows." Mrs. Randolph said as if in deep thoughts.
"Thank you, this friendship means a lot to me but Adah means more than this world to me. I give you my word and promise you that she is in safe hands with me." Munah said.
"It better be because I will come after you in a way that you will not expect," she said with a bright smile. They discussed other things and agreed to communicate more through messages and emails as well as phone calls which they will be discreet about. She was with him as he cleared his table and together they left. While she went back to her office, Munah walked to the lift with Adah in mind.
As Munah drove down to Creek Island that sunny evening he pondered on what Mrs. Randolph just told him back at the office. For Adah to embark on such a mission, means that she is a falcon that can fight to the finish just to protect her own, This is exactly an action that is based on and investigated by jealousy. Munah could not figure out the reason but Mrs. Randolph pointed out that it was the night of the misunderstanding, their fight time at Creek Island. Munah now remembered that day quite vividly, it started when he has driven Mrs. Randolph to the car mart. Adah probably looked for him which led to Lily taking her back home. Adah was able to get it when he explained eventually when they met that night and the rest of her actions are what Mrs. Randolph just revealed to him. He felt sorry for Mrs. Randolph. If she dislikes Mrs. Randolph why still allow her to be part of the new project and even commit sensitive assignments to her care? Munah felt like been angry with Adah but was quick to push it out of his head because Adah might take bigger measures that might be detrimental. He decided that he will not ask her anything about this but promised to be careful so that Mrs. Randolph will not be put in harm's way. Munah knows that Adah is so much in love with him that she can go to any length to protect that love. He knows that she almost worships him especially now that they are cohabiting and she has offered herself to him.
He entered the gate and parked the car. He came out and walked to the house. When he got to the room he discovered Adah was on the bed with her phone in hand. immediately she saw him, she ended the call and rushed to I've him a hug. They embraced and Adah asked to be kissed. They kissed passionately for a while before they refrained. He went to the bathroom coming out he asked Adah to get dressed for they will be eating out. Adah was thrilled and quickly called on the housekeeper to take the evening off. She got dressed in an all-white evening gown that reached her knees and a fur coat that is of golden color and a golden low shoe that shone in elegance. She allowed her hair to flow down neatly and touched her face with a little makeup. She wore her favorite fragrance and did not forget her wrist chain and necklace. She looked beautiful more than ever as she finished and helped him with his sleeve cuffs, Munah had not seen this rough-looking but the beautiful side of her. She looked endearing, expensively sophisticated, and powerful. Adah allowed him to open the door as she came out. He held her hands and helped her to climb down the stairs that were beautified with gold as led her to the car. He opened the front door for her and she went in before he closed the door gently. He opened his door and entered the car before he drive off towards the gate which opened of its own accord. He increased the speed of the exotic car as it responded to the call for speed toward the destination he has in mind.
Adah sat down and smiled to herself as she remembered Lily's words some moment ago on the phone. She has told Lily everything, those fantasies, and yearnings that she thought no one could give to her sexually have all been fulfilled beyond her expectations and wildest dreams. Lily had laughed her eyes out how she had described every sexual activity and how she was treated like a goddess. Like a good friend, she discovered that Lily was indeed happy for her and even congratulated her for finding her true love. Adah smiled again as Lily shouted hysterically on the phone when she told her of his proposal to her. Lily was indeed more ecstatic than her with the way she expressed her joy over the matter. Adah could not stop wondering about how fast their love is growing without any form of challenge. She had read in books that true love must be tested. Those challenges help to build and make the love stronger. However, Adah does not believe in those philosophies for everybody in their own time and season must experience love and the intrigues that it brings. The feeling is unique to her, she knows that she is extremely jealous and possessive to a great fault that if not checked she can kill when in that mood. She is trying to work on herself but Lily who is her love doctor had long advised her to let herself be and be free to enjoy what life has to offer her. She has taken the advice and is trying to let herself be though it has not been easy. Munah has come into her life at the time she needed him most. His coming has healed her and like she told Lily, she will never play with him or let him go as a result of her pride, selfishness, and arrogance. Her love for him is real and he is heavenly to her. He is not in her life for the wealth or the fame. She knows that he has been spending the money Palm Springs paid to him, though the money is in the tune of millions. He has never made any demands from her and this has proven to her that he is not with her for those frivolities. She was shocked when Lily pointed it out to her, though still advised that she should be careful and provide whenever the need arises because someone like him will never ask. She has even spoken to her account officer at Treasury to be sending him some money fortnightly and she knows that Munah will not be happy with that sort of arrangement when the huge amount starts entering his account. All in all, she is happy that for once she has made Lily jealous as a result of her revelations to her. She relaxed her mind and wondered about the surprise Munah may have up his sleeve this time around.
