The meeting commenced relatively late because there was a little bit of delay from the head of operations. They had all waited patiently for her and when they met, it was Lily who first started with a note of apology. Mrs. Randolph said the opening prayers while Lily read the minutes of the previous meeting. In her reaction to the minutes, Adah pointed out that every penciled mode of operation has been acted on and demanded the results achieved so far. Lily who was the first to react pointed out that the group indeed is on the right pedestal towards the execution of its first major contract that is worth more than three billion dollars. She thanked Adah for helping to secure the funds. She also hinted at the purchase of the telecommunication companies and revealed that Adah will speak more on it when called upon. She also stressed that the office since the last meeting has made some employment and has gone a step further to fully equip all the offices with the mission and vision of the group beautifully framed and positioned in all corners of the building, Adah's picture was framed and placed alongside the mayor and first citizen of the country at the gallery hall before entering the reception. Lily finally finished and sat down while they clapped.
Adah reacted by commending her efforts and instructed her to begin discussions with three banks that will be in the custody of all monetary transactions of the group. They agreed on a sole signatory to the accounts which will be Adah. Also, they agreed that a constitution is drafted to protect all interests and guide them in every sphere of operation. Despite acting as a subsidiary, they know that they are protected by the empire but they have to be independent and strive for excellence.
Adah inquired about the project to be executed from Munah. He informed the house that a property has been secured to commence the construction company that will handle all projects of the group. He was also quick to inform them that every machinery and device has been purchased and that in the next ten days it will be delivered. He told them that he will be visiting the property for the construction company and as well visit the place where the construction will take place. He showed them the prototype of the plan from his computer to the wall screen where it is projected and explained that he will get the quotation from a quantity surveyor so that they can start estimating the cost. When he finished, they all clapped while Adah did not react. She demanded Mrs. Randolph's report. She explained that a meeting has been scheduled between the Mayor and the group. Also, agreements have been reached with local authorities to purchase more than two thousand hectares of fertile land to commence operation by the next planting season. She suggested that the land when fully acquired will house a poultry industry and cattle ranch that will be solely for keeping and producing beef. Cereals such as rice, wheat, and millet will be produced massively and it is either they open a milling plant to produce flour and rice or they export the product overseas. She finished and looked at Munah with a knowing smile. Adah commended her efforts and asked if her report should be sent to her directly.
They continued their discussion but in the end, agreed that the construction should first be focused on since the demand is urgent. Adah concluded that all reports be submitted to the head of operations. They agreed that they have to hold a meeting with the senior members and staff of the four telecommunications companies so that they will have an insight on how to come in fully. Munah insisted that the merger should not be immediate but a gradual process since the four companies ate all in operation. According to him if they can run for a whole financial year then profits will be accrued and used for their upgrade or merger. Lily also agreed with his proposition pointing out that any merger will bring them into certain conflicts with the authorities because of the registration processes. In her reaction, Adah pointed out that it will cost much to operate four same organizations in different parts of the country but accepted the fact that their financial strength needs to be determined before any other thing. Mrs. Randolph also insisted that the meeting for the merger should be called off as earlier proposed. Her reason is that it will put them in the wrong stead as tension will be high which will not be quite good for the existing customers. She pointed out that the companies should operate on an individual basis but all of them must be rebranded and their products and packages. While Mrs. Randolph opted for a foreign advertising agency to be contracted, Lily argued that a home advertising agency will do quite well because of the consumer and environmental factors. Munah only said that their various advertisements in all should be studied before taking any decisions and that he sees nothing wrong in retaining their advertising agents. They all agreed that Adah should meet with them and Lily will continue after that as the head of operations. Lily suggested working with Munah on that but Adah refused the offer pointing out that in as much as he is fully part of the team, he will be busy because of the building projects. She promised to help out if needed but since the telecommunication companies will still be run as before. They discussed this further and Adah informed them of her intention to get them all an official car. This announcement brought joy to them as well as the news that she has discussed with the banks on salaries and allowances. However, it depends on how fast the head of operations will be fast with the banks. They expressed their thanks to her and her father for their generosity and pledged their full commitment. After the meeting, they left the hall while Adah went to Lily's office to discuss further with her. Mrs. Randolph and Munah discussed the agricultural project further. Mrs. Randolph later headed back to the empire while Munah went to the car. He thought about the meeting for a while and all that did transpire and concluded that they are on the right track. He was still thinking about when his phone vibrated, he searched for it and found it in his left pocket and brought it out. He saw two messages. one was a credit alert of a huge sum of money from Adah and the other was still from her apologizing for keeping him waiting and promising to be around soonest. He went back to the alert and wondered what the money is meant for. Confusion seem to be written on his face as he thought deeply about what the money is for. The amount is quite huge and this troubled him. He was still in thoughts when Adah shows up and entered the car, she quickly observed that he seemed worried.
"What seems to bother you?" she asked quite concerned as she fixed her eyes on him.
"Nothing much," he answered expressionlessly as he made to start the car.
"Common talk to me, my love, you are making me worried and I don't like it," Adah said raising the armrest as she moved closer to him. " Please talk to me, if it's my behavior this morning, I am sorry I was just trying to get your attention." She said looking at him pleadingly as she tries to control herself and the rising tension within her.
"I saw some money sent by you to my account, it's quite a lot and what is it for?" Munah asked looking into her brown eyes. She held his hands in hers and heaved a sigh of relief as the rising tension in her died down. She held his stare and smiled warmly as she let his hands go but he held her hands back in his and looked inquiringly at her.
"I sent the money to you... I feel you needed money to do some things for yourself." She said looking at him.
"My love, please if I need money I will let you know but for now I still have the money I got from Palm Springs," Munah explained.
"Come off it. Don't I have the right to give you something? Money is the least I can offer you. If I can give you my love, time, and body then why will I not give you money? I and my all belong to you." Adah explained softly looking at him. He looked away as tears filled his eyes. Adah sighed as tears also started to gather in her eyes as well. He noticed her tears and fought his tears back. He started the car and drove toward Creek Island. As they got home She left him in the car and went straight to the room they share while he later came down from the car and walked tardily towards the house. When he entered the room, he was quite surprised to see her sitting on the bed and in tears. He went to her and hugged her which made her cry the more.
"I have every right to give you my body and all. I accepted to be with you because I love you. You have made me yours and now I am and will remain completely in you. Our rights to each other can never be questioned by any not even the both of us." she said as he wiped her tears away and hugged her fully.
"I am sorry. I have never been given such or seen such an amount of money in my life. I was confused about it. Don't take it far more than this. You have given me the best and that is you and your body. if I can have your body I can receive all from you. I was stupid for acting strange." He said and kissed her while she relaxed on him and said nothing.
