You don't have to be afraid and far be it from me to want to toy with this golden chance to taste the love and be loved. I may be rich but remember that I am first a human who wants to be loved. We will fight the battles later and need not worry about them." Adah said and turned to kiss him. They kissed fully this time without shame or remorse as tears came down her eyes. He wiped them away and kissed her fully again.
"Give me the chance to love you despite who you are. I probably may not be perfect but I promise you that I will not play with this opportunity. See, it is not because of fame and fortune. it is what I have to offer and that is my love. Adah, you are beautiful... I have been wanting to tell you this the first time I saw you." Munah said meaning every word.
" I am indeed grateful for this opportunity, with my life I promise to make you happy. I may not be the Almighty but I promise you that I will fight every battle with you. I am not taking this opportunity for granted because I have long waited for today to come. I have wet my bed with tears, injuring myself and my heart. I promise you that I will never take your love for me for granted." She said looking at him intently and keeping her observations close to her heart. He played with her hair while they remained in silence each not saying anything for words are not enough. As she clasped herself to him, she listened to his heartbeats which to her seem to beat as same as hers. For the first time in her life, she has embraced peace. She promised herself to fully submit to this new experience.
They were still together when the housekeeper entered and announced that the table is set in the dining room. Adah begged for it to be transferred to her wing which she readily accepted fully apologizing for not having taken a thought about that. Adah also introduced Munah to the housekeeper and they exchanged pleasantries before she set off to complete her duties. Munah allowed her to rest her head fully on his thighs as she laid down on the long fluffy couch.
"You are now my responsibility and hope you know that?" He asked her with a smile. She only nodded as beautiful thoughts filled her head.
" There will be a meeting on Monday at the new office. I want us to brainstorm and begin to handle assignments..." She started as Munah listened to her but still played with her hair.
That will be nice. Please where do I come in?" He asked looking at her.
" Everywhere... we are now in this together forever. We are not apart anymore. At the empire, same still stands..." she said without looking at him as he held her hands.
" Let's talk about Palm springs. I think they discovered who you are so they want to be part of the new trend. I will want us to go into construction and building. We should go and partner with mayors of cities and heads of ministries. Through them, we can acquire properties in massive volumes and start our constructions. I have lots of designs for estates. We can start from there and gradually build a city in this country and beyond. " Munah said looking at her with tenderness in his eyes. She smiled as she held his stare and allowed him to kiss her forehead.
"Wow! but what about the telecommunications and information sectors which to me are quite paramount..." Adah asked wanting to know more.
" First we need a license from the authorities to fully operate. However, we can do this through the back door." He said.
" Meaning.." Adah inquired softly
" We go to Spain or Europe as a whole and look for one of their telecommunications outfit to buy, after the purchase, we use them to make a bid on any company down here. If there is a breakthrough then we fully take over every one of their available facilities and network system to operate." Munah said as if he is reading it out to her from a textbook. Adah looked at him and knew at once that he is right. Starting a telecommunication outfit from the scratch will gulp a lot of finances and Adah agrees that it will not be called for.
"Can we start scouting for any that may be in the market?" Adah asked playing with the buttons on his shirt.
" Yes but let us begin from here... the stock market can give us a lead," Munah said looking up to see the door opened by the housekeeper who pushed the serving trolley into the living room. She expertly served the food and welcomed them to the table. They discussed more during their meal. They finished and after resting for a while, Adah decided to take him around the massive building. After the tour, they went into the garden. Together they explored every corner, hand in hand they walked around the beautiful place until they reached the orchard. This place is quite separated from the rest of the garden, the orchard is blessed with more than nine different kinds of fruit trees with each plantation on its own. The neatness of the whole orchard is what surprised Munah as he looked in awe at the fruits. Ahead of them, they saw a wooden house and Adah took him inside, the place was decorated with cane-woven chairs and tables. Adah explained that Mr. Denson loves coming out to the wooden house to think out solutions that bother him concerning the empire. According to Adah, Mr. Denson can spend the whole weekend in the house never wanting to see anyone except his wife and daughter. They left the wooden house and made their way to the Fountains, Munah was intrigued by the sights and complete display of beauty. The lady beside him all of a sudden look renewed and beautiful, her laughter is now golden and her face full of beauty which seems to radiate the essence of her perfect beauty and elegance. As they made their way toward the mansion, Adah felt elated and happy.
'I want to ask for a favor from you..."Adah said looking at him with a bright smile.
" You are free to ask for anything..." he said searching her face with his eyes.
" Today marks a turning point in our lives. I want this day to be celebrated by our generations beginning from us." She said softly but meant every word.
" So be it," Munah said and hugged her.
" I want to pay Mrs. Rowlings a visit," Adah said looking at him.
" You don't need to. please just make the connection... her case is getting worse by the day and I don't want to lose her for anything." Munah said looking away.
" Just get her documents ready for she may depart for overseas in the next four days. I will call my friend Kelly for the rest." Adah said and held him to herself.
" Hope you will not get tired of me?" She asked as they entered her wing. In response, he stopped and with a swift carried her in his arms as he opened the door and took her in. Fully entering the living room, he took her to the bedroom and laid her on the wide exquisite bed, he knelt by her side and held her hands in his.
" Today, I promise you all my love. I have never fallen before for any lady. Because of you, I have come to the end of the road except you will abandon me to my fate. I am not in love with your wealth and fame. I love you for who you are. You are now my responsibility and pride, my morning and sunshine, my love and all. I promise you that I will never get tired of you. I pray that our life is spared so that we will live and grow old together. I will never be ashamed of you. Adah, you are now part of my existence and my very essence. I am sorry for pretending all this while but that kiss in the car changed my life and revealed the real you to me. I love you Adah and this love is real and ready to go the extra mile for what it will cost." The long speech from Munah to her caught her unawares as she with tears in her eyes held him and cried for she believed him.
Munah got up and held her which proved more tears. He tightened the grip and allowed her to cry, for once and indeed he believed that she is as soft as butter and the whole bold approach and seemingly fearless attributes to issues at the empire is not really who she is. Her real self is fully now displayed and with this, he knows that she must be protected and loved. He stood up and got her a glass of water which she drank and kept the glass cup on the top of the bedside drawer and adjusted herself. He wiped her tears away and smiled at her. She smiled back which made her more beautiful, just then her phone rang. She picked up the phone and discovered her father was the one calling. She laughed softly as her father teased her and could overhear her mother giving instructions to the house attendants. He told her that they have arrived at their home in the land of the Swiss and he is looking forward to enjoying himself. They charged for a while before she spoke to her mother who could not talk for long and they said their goodbyes. She put the phone down and looked at Munah who smiled back.
"They traveled for my dad to have a holiday and a little bit of medical check-up overseas," she explained to him.
" Not to worry, I will be here with you all the way," Munah said as she laughed and threw a pillow at him which he caught and playfully threw it back at her which she dodged and ran to meet him, hugging him as she laughed in hysteria. He carried her and did a spiral turn before dropping her on the bed, he was about to get up when she pulled him down on her with a smile. They remained in that position talking about a whole lot of things, their growing-up years experiences which to Adah were quite different. While she has received the best of life and education, he has struggled all along, and like he said working in the empire is a breakthrough opportunity that he cannot afford to let go by. They adjusted themselves as she picked up her phone and with the help of Munah, the details were sent to palm springs. About five minutes later, they called back to acknowledge the receipt of the details. She also detailed the number of the family doctor to the Denson's family. She spoke with the doctor for more than an hour before dropping her phone and bothered not to tell Munah what they discussed as they chatted away. She told him about Bami and how her relationship with him all ended without shame. He had listened and imagined how a character like hers would have suffered in the hands of Bami. Be had never been in any relationship with any lady and this he told her. Though, she found it unlikely but it is the truth.
After their discussions, Adah requested for them to pay Lily a visit at the Petrush which Munah accepted. A few minutes later Munah was driving towards Palm springs in the Viber. The Viber was a customized car for the Denson's, though Adah has no liking for it, she accepted because of her friend Munah who looked intently at it when they entered the underground car park. The Viber is an automatic car that is extremely fast. As they made their way to Lily's place, Adah found herself in thoughts over what Munah had all told her. Though she was very shy about talking about Bami but in the end was happy that she did and Munah did not even raise any dust about it. Now it is in her past and finally buried for good. She did learn a lot from their togetherness and discussions. He makes her understand the fact that life apart from being a blessing, can also be brutish and unkind. She loves the way he talks to her, carries her, and adores her. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she remembered their first real kiss. She has never been kissed like that in her. life. This is the first kiss that has brought out the woman in her. She had cried because she never know that love will come to her in this manner, what she so desired came to her disguised and unfathomed. At his age, Adah knew that he is more mature than imagined, he has a way of viewing things that far meet the eyes. They arrived at the Petrash and both of them went in. Lily who opened the door to her suite welcomed them with open arms and immediately Adah chatted away with Lily while Munah turned his attention to the screen seeing that both ladies have a lot of catching up to do.
