"Are you done with your homework?" My mother asked her."
"Not yet," Emerald replied, still looking at Alec. "I just heard sister's voice outside that's why I left my notebooks there and came here."
"It's fine, you can finish it later." Then my mother turned to Alec. "You can have dinner here as my token of gratitude for keeping my daughter safe," my mother smiled. "I'll cook whatever food you want. What do you like?"
My eyes went bigger than usual. I mouthed at my mom to stop, even making a gesture crossing my forearms but eventually, it stopped the moment he stared at me.
"Yeah!" I said, laughing awkwardly. I have no choice. "Yeah, haha, why not you grab some food first, you know, it must be tiring to walk from SNU till here." I faked a smile.
