Jade's POV
"Sorry, I'm late."
I was busy texting Chace if the guy that he was referring to will come, because five minutes had passed already. To be honest, In my past blind dates, I even intend to come in late because I like bragging off to people that I am worth the wait.
But it turns out pretty different right now; I was the one who came in first, all prepared, even asked a help from Malcolm what dress will he think I will look extremely hit and sexy if he's the billionaire. Why?
I need to grab this. I need to be a good date and I wanted to impress in front of him. I don't have money right now, and Chace will be paying me after this, but if I became a good girl? I am expecting he will give me another tip. That's why.
First thing that I did is to calm myself down, although I was startled at how husky and manly his voice is. Running the bitch mode on, my hands trail to my hair, brushing it to make a wave effect before he can finally see me.
"No worries," I confidently turned my gaze to face him, smiling.
But after a millisecond it went gone.
"You?!"
I was shocked to see him right in front of me!
He wasn't just an ordinary man. He wasn't just a random billionaire that Chace had set me up to.
He was Lite Alec Iverson!
Oh my god! I need air! I think I'm dying!
"Jesus," Alec palmed his face and massages his temple due to stress. "Of all the girls that Chace would set me up for a blind date."
"I don't know!" I hissed, "Alec never gave me any information about you! And of course, how would we? This is a blind date, you know that!"
Alec made a big disappointing sigh, it sounded so heavy, yet still sexy. I'd never thought he can express this kind of emotion when he was all poker by the first time he encountered me. Nevertheless, all emotions he display is pure rudeness!
"Alright," he said. "You can go home now."
My nerves went activated when I heard the word, 'go home'. Like all of a sudden my adrenaline jumped in, realizing we haven't even started! What if he told Chace he was disappointed?! I wouldn't receive my ten thousand dollars!
"Wait!" I said, while my mind was thinking for a perfect lie, "I actually, uh, ordered already."
Alec paused, to stare at me. His dark brown eyes gleaming in this classic restaurant makes me turn my gaze away from him. This guy, he has so much power he may be not aware His eyes are enough to intimidate people including me.
"Lying," Alec said.
"What?!"
"You're lying," he repeated. "Your eyes went upper right, and you cannot stare directly at me."
I was even more dumbfounded at his conclusion. If he just knew why I cannot stare at him straight!
"No!" I stuttered, my pitch was way too obvious that I am so nervous. Gosh. I cannot be defeated for the second time around!
"I actually ordered food already so that we don't have to wait," I excused. Glad my words had moved him and I was able to encourage Alec to take a seat.
I was about to add more excuses when a waitress approached our table.
"Can I take your order now, Ma'am?"
And that's it. Right at that very moment I got busted. Alec shrugged his head, disappointed and because I cannot talk anymore due to embarrassment, the waitress proceed to him.
"How about you sir?"
"Get me a five course meal." He said, composed and all professional.
"That is noted, anything else?"
"Her," Alec pointed. The waitress blushed as she took his words in a different meaning, more likely sensual.
"Me?" My mouth went opened.
"Yes, what do you like?" He asked, all civil.
"Uh," I stared at the menu but my mind was malfunctioning, I don't know why I can't read words this time! They are all hard to pronounce! Fuck! I don't even know what is the six course meal he is referring to!
"Uh, I think, water..." I said, trying to keep up my poise, playing safe. In case Alec didn't pay for my bills because I knew he hate me for intentionally bumping into him.
"Water?" The waitress were unsure if she heard it right. "That's all?"
"Yes," I said, regretting it at the back of my mind. "I'm on a diet."
Now the waitress thinks I'm weird before she left our table. Alec stood up and grabbed something on his pocket, only to realize he was paying the bill already in advance.
"You're leaving already?!" I almost shout.
"It's not my job to join you at dinner."
"We're not taking dinner!" I grunt. "This is a date!"
"Is this?" He asked me back in full sarcasm.
"Actually, I don't mind," I said, rolling my eyes at him.
"You can go. I do not date guys who are not gentleman." I added, trying to do a little reverse psychology to him, and the same time, praying it would work.
"Good," he said, all poker. "Because I don't date bitches on the other hand."
That made me really angry.
"Really?" My perfect lashes twitch at him. "No wonder you have the least number of fan base among the Heartthrob Boys, plus you're also unpopular. Your name doesn't even ring a bell on me." I laughed. "You know what, believe me, no one falls in love with that trashy attitude."
He just nod at me.
"I don't crave for people to like me, though, I am not a cheerleader."
His short replies make me even angrier. How come he's good at arguing! Now I take back what I think of him with that suit!
"Exactly," I said, maintaining my poise even though his words are roasting me. And even though I don't want to play the role of a bitch I think he's pushing me to be one.
Let's see where this will guide me, I said to myself.
