Chapter 58 - Chapter 58

The ten figures were on their knees as soon as they appeared, unable to raise their heads to look at their brother.

Malik was running too late. So was Diana.

They started coughing blood.

The killing intent started being so strong that they saw a huge shadow from Cayn's side.

Dark music suddenly rose around them, ice-cold notes that brought chills down their spine, threw them into an endless dark abyss unable to call for help nor beg for mercy.

It was heavily pressing on their lungs, catching their breaths.

The terror in their hearts grew so strong they rose their heads slowly, their eyes followed trembling in horror.

Their eyes finally fell on their big brother. He only looked younger than when he left them. Everything else was the same, even his scars, even the cold, and lifeless eyes, that he had before his death as he stared at the ground. But a huge shadow englobed his body, three times his size.

"Those bastards. Yes, Yes, I am glad they are coming..." Kept murmuring Cayn.

They were all confused.

The dragon was on the other side, as big as it was no one of them cared about it. It was still focusing on calling for Diana panting as if it was getting harder for it to breathe.

Suddenly the seventh of the ten figures managed to open his mouth, trying to utter a few words.

"B..." It didn't take enough for him to pronounce the letter that his head fell to the ground.

Blood splurted everywhere, then on the clothes of his siblings, whose eyes widened, unable to express the choke nor understand the situation.

One of the women shook heavily as his head touched her knee. She was still unable to move nor react due to Cayn's bloodlust.

She merely hummed as she cried.

Her head, followed.

Two of the ten figures. Two of the ten siblings Cayn considered his family, died merely letting out a sound.

The others couldn't take it anymore. Their basic reflexes and reactions couldn't be controlled anymore. They were getting back to their basic instincts because of this intense fear.

The second brother stood there with his eyes trembling turning hastily to stop the other from making a sound.

While with the others, some screamed, some ragged to stand up and fight.

Their heads with their horrified eyes, fell, followed by their bodies, one by one.

Thud, thud...

They all fell, lifeless.

The atmosphere grew quiet around them, with the second brother kneeling without saying a word, staring at the corpses of his siblings.

He closed his eyes as they teared up silently. His heart was shattered to pieces.

He always thought a day like this would happen.

He always knew, that Cayn someday will turn into a monster. He wasn't helping to get stronger to stop him, nor allow him to get back to himself. It was to kill him if he ever lost himself.

It was happening in front of him, and he couldn't stop it.

As much as he was the strongest only after Cayn it served nothing now.

His siblings died in a matter of seconds he couldn't let out a sound to warn them, while he was there, shaking in fear. Second brother, what a funny title when he couldn't protect any of them.

He scoffed at himself.

He suddenly opened his eyes to the dark and intensifying music. Found Cayn in front of him but something was wrong.

Akio, the second brother, wasn't facing Cayn when he closed his eyes but his dead siblings.

He turned to look with the side of his eye, only to find the seventh brother about to utter the words.

Akio's muscles pumped, whether this is a vision before his death or a second chance he won't stand still.

He hurriedly covered his little brother's mouth, signaling to the others not to speak nor let out any kind of sound, otherwise, they would die.

He even signaled to them the vision he saw of all of them dying.

Everyone shook their heads affirming his order. They wouldn't dare not believe their brother in this kind of situation.

Akio turned to look at Cayn.

In his heart, he knew his big brother was fighting his instincts, if someone else saw this vision they wouldn't be as cool-minded as him. Cayn showed him this on purpose.

But something else puzzled his mind. Since when, was Cayn, able to perceive the future?

But he quickly threw that question away, cause of this instant something else mattered.

How to stop Cayn.

Suddenly the dragon on the other side howled, finally catching the focus of the ten figures.

Cayn's dragon is still there, they knew him from their brother's dragon arts that nobody could learn other than him.

But why was it howling now, with a painful voice as if it was on the verge of dying?

The answer slowly appeared in front of them.

A woman appeared by the dragon's side.

The dragon looked like it found hope, also noticing the shaking little red dragon on the woman's shoulder.

It closed and started fading as if it was disappearing.

The woman placed her hand on the dragon's rough dark skin, then her head.

"Thank you," she said with a sweet and calm voice.

The ten figures stared as to why this woman wasn't affected by the intense bloodlust.

No, looking closer she was.

The woman was shaking, breathing uncomfortably but her eyes turned to fall on Cayn.

There were mixed emotions in there.

A scene that wasn't unfamiliar to the ten figures who thought this was just another woman that their brother rejected because of his sense of loneliness.

Akio tried to move his hands to catch her attention, while he still wondered why could the dragon howl and she could speak without getting killed.

But her eyes never left Cayn.

Akio gritted his teeth, this woman was throwing herself to her death.

But to his surprise not only could she keep her posture in front of this madness, but she also started walking further.

Akio's eyes widened but he at least understood there was a reason why would Cayn's dragon call for her.

She walked up to him, her mouth started bleeding, her panting grew heavier and faster.

Cayn was still muttering the same words, that they were coming.

Diana didn't mind that, and only focused on being able to reach him.

She walked. The dragon hid inside her core unable to hold his appearance outside anymore.

Aiko finally noticed the little dragon, had a bit of reasoning.

At least now he knows, she is also learning the dragon arts.

Now he was even more confused. Who was she, to Cayn?

Diana got closer and closer, and the ten figures could see the toll heavily pressing on her body, as she staggered more and more unable to hold herself but she never gave up.

They saw her eyes even tear up a bit from time to time, but she cleaned her tears then walked more.

This scene made all of them stare in awe.

And before they could enjoy the scene she stood in front of him.

His eyes still fidgeting staring at the ground, murmuring the same words.

The ten siblings stood there without a word waiting for her to wake him up.

But to their surprise, the woman raised her hand.

Slap.

She slapped him across the face.

Diana, with tearing red eyes, slapped Cayn as hard as she could.
