Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

In the gem cave in the mountains, Shiro walked in, still making the woman's fragile body fly with his magic.

He slowly let her down.

"Than-thank you," she said shaking.

"Don't mention it," he took a look at her. "You know what to do Nu," spoke Shiro coldly.

The woman nodded, straightening her body to stand up.

She closed her eyes, taking deep breaths.

The water in the cave trembled, flying towards her.

She stretched her arms, opening her eyes, which were filled with light and shone its beautiful blue color.

The water flew in her hand, her hair danced wildly.

She uttered as she crushed the light that was created by the water, "Audi mandatum meum, ego enim finem facial actions benedixi vobis."

(Hear my commandment. For I will bring an end to the covenant I have blessed you)

She destroyed it.

Then she sat down, tired. "I never thought the descendants of my contractors would give me this much trouble. I will show them," she angrily spoke.

"That was enough, with this they are not under your responsibility anymore. Now don't make a move without the lord's permission." Shiro transformed into his panther form and slept.

Nu looked at him for a moment. "I understand," she said sighing.

She disappeared, appearing on top of a huge lake in the forest.

She moved her hand to cleanse it and closed her eyes as she gracefully entered the waters.

---

Glass was shattered on the ground.

Jackal and Elric were shaking.

Their tattoos disappeared. They couldn't feel their god's blessing any longer.

They started murmuring crazily, as if they were haunted, freaking out the whole around.

They hurriedly asked for an early leave from the party as they didn't feel well.

Everyone else noticed what happened.

The water god had forsaken the Sylvia kingdom.

The hall was filled with confusion and the birth of many rumors.

But some already had an idea of what happened. It couldn't be a mere coincidence. The day these people would badmouth Amina, for this to happen. It was obvious, with Cayn's character, that something happened when he left.

Amina herself looked at her son with a complicated expression.

He met her gaze with his cold eyes, raising his glass in her direction.

And everyone who had those thoughts confirmed them after watching this scene.

Cayn did something.

Cayn broke the blessing of the water god because they provoked his mother.

Cayn is dangerous, with mysterious prowess. A crazy man who would do anything for his mother.

While many noble women pushed his bloodthirsty self aside, and only thought of him as a grand man, feeling jealous of how he respected his mother. He was a perfect man, it was okay for him to be crazy they thought.

Rumors about him started.

Rin bowed slightly as he met Cayn's gaze. Without confirming he knew Cayn was the reason for such a thing. He then also asked for an early leave as the party was slowly coming to an end. Went back to report this matter to his king.

Sakura looked at Cayn with surprised eyes. She was also, thinking the same as those noble ladies. She was astonished about how he treated his mother. She snapped back, asking her little brother to report what happened to her father, as she, wanted to stay a bit longer.

None of them gave a thought about Diana, who had complicated emotions dwelling in her heart.

Amina noticed, "What are you worried about?" she asked.

Diana turned to look at her slowly with a tender smile. "I don't understand either. But I do understand, why everyone thinks he is unapproachable."

Amina stared at her deeply. "My dear," she said with a sad expression.

"No, no. Not about me. It's just, that he is so considerate of your feelings, of the feelings of those he considered his family. But It's like, he doesn't have any feelings of his own."

Amina looked at her surprised.

Diana continued, "He gets mad for all of you, happy for you, protective of you, caring for you. Even getting mad at you if you do something wrong, but even that, is never because it is towards him. It's all for you." She looked at the ground with a heavy look.

"Giving everything to you without a single thought of himself. A parent, to us all," said Amina chuckling at her last words.

Diana smiled at her words. But it wasn't surprising she would feel like this even as his mother.

"Perhaps, you are the only one who can show him, those feelings." Amina patted Diana's hair.

"I will do my best, mother." Diana closed her eyes, bowing slightly to Amina.

She turned around to look at Cayn, who was smiling with the tall man.

"Go," said Amina.

Diana nodded and walked toward them.

As she got closer, both of them turned to look at her silently.

She stood in front of them.

She stared at Cayn for a moment.

"I greet her royal highness, Princess Diana," said Malik showing courtesy.

She turned her eyes slowly to look at him, "Be at ease, brother."

Malik was surprised she recognized him.

"I, am sorry for intruding that night."

"It's understandable. But I won't forgive you next time." She said jokingly.

"Oh yes," he smiled. "Hmm, can I also, call you sister?"

"Go ahead. I suppose you are here bringing news from his world?" Asked Diana.

Malik looked at her for a moment, then turned to Cayn nervously.

Cayn was staring at Diana, he didn't take his eyes off her.

He moved his hand holding the glass, as a sign.

Malik cleared his throat, and looked at Diana, "Today, is the anniversary, of his passing."

Diana's eyes widened, as she turned fast to meet Cayn's cold eyes.

She stared at him, with depressed eyes.

"Since you are here," while maintaining eye contact with Cayn. "Why don't you tell me, a bit, about your emperor."

Malik inclined his head. "Looking at your expression, I am guessing, you know of his character already."

Diana chuckled, looking at Cayn.

He turned his head away.

Diana was about to break down. Her eyes became teary. She knew even now he wouldn't want to talk about it. "May I," her voice cracked, snuffling "borrow your little brother for a moment, dear."

Cayn turned to look at her, "Sure," he said with a breathless voice.

Diana smiled with her watering eyes. At last, he is opening up, even if it's not from his mouth.

She walked away.

Malik turned to catch a glimpse at Cayn, who stared at Diana's back.

He didn't say a word to him and left following her.

Diana and Malik walked to the other corner of the hall, far away from Cayn.

She snuffled for a moment, wiping the tears from her eyes."Not the talkative man, is he."

Malik waited for her until she turned.

She looked at him dead in the eyes.

He took a deep look at her and sighed. "If I may say," he bowed his head slightly as if he spoke to his superior, "When I met him, his majesty was already like this."

Diana listened.

"But... Ah," he took a deep breath. "He is broken, an empty shell, my lady. For his people, no. Before that, for his brothers and sisters, to give them the world they deserved was the only reason he, kept himself alive."

"I," she sighed, "know that much, at least." Spoke to Diana with a broken heart.

Malik raised his head to look at her, with a piercing gaze. "My lady, my sister-in-law, would you like, to see the glory of your man?" Malik's presence roared, as he straightened his chest. "The glory of the man, who did everything for our well-being, even when he broke himself countless times!" He spoke louder yet no one else in the crowd could hear the conversation between the two, "The man we love and respect with every part of our being! The same man, who conquered worlds, defeated armies, slaughtered gods and cosmic beings, every being that dared touch us!"

Suddenly the area where they stood changed, into a huge white palace with doors. "My lady, behind this door stand his dimension. Sadly no other being than us angel gods who serve as messengers can pass through them. But," he got down on his knee, like a knight, bowing his head. "If my sister wishes so, I shall show you what I saw. The back of my lord."

Diana stared at this scene with her eyes widened. She felt like an ant in front of the massive door. She looked at the kneeling Malik.

Her eyes became determined. "Show me," she broke, screaming, "Even it's just a glimpse, SHOW ME what HE, SUFFERED THROUGH. SHOW ME WHY YOU FOLLOW THIS BROKEN MAN! SHOW, me, the weights that were placed on his shoulders. Show me, how tall he stood." She felt weak to the knees, "Please," she cried.

Malik raised his hand, "As you wish."

Light so bright blinded Diana.

She opened her eyes slowly.
