Diana opened her eyes to find a tunnel, with Malik in front of her, bowing his waist, waiting for her to walk through it.
Diana started walking as she was hearing Malik's voice. "In this dimension, the human realm was only found later by the higher realms as if it was created naturally. Humans lived alone in their world before they were invaded by these forces. And before the appearance of Cayn, humans became merely food."
Diana halted with eyes widened.
"Humans didn't know magic. They were, powerless to those cosmic beings, food, and sex slaves to the deities. From lesser realms to greater ones, Cayn challenged the fate of humanity." Continued Malik.
Diana was surprised, clutching her teeth. "Tell me, before you continue. After he ruled and brought peace," Diana looked at the ground. "How, many years did he live, like that, before his body gave up."
Malik was silent for a moment, "O-only five years after ending the wars until his family could stand on their own."
Diana's body shook, she felt weak to her knees. H-how could he, she thought as her eyes got teary again.
She stood there for a moment, before finally raising her determined eyes.
"I, guess that changed after Cayn appeared," she said.
"Yes, but alone, he fought the entire universe."
Diana's eyes widened.
"And it only took a human who didn't know a thing about magic in his twenty years of life, in front of those immortal beings, ten years to stand above everyone." Malik's voice cracked, as he chuckled like a crazy man, "No one can begin to comprehend, the prowess he achieved, the researches he did try to utilize magic, in merely the thirty-five years he lived. He is a monster, a monster who saved us all I tell you."
Diana didn't know what to say anymore, stupified, but also weirdly heartbroken.
"I shall show you, the day I met him, the young man in his twenties that I chose to follow."
Diana finally walked into the light at the end of the tunnel.
She was again blinded for a moment.
She opened her eyes, as weird sounds gradually resonated in her ear.
The sky was bloody red, black clouds covered the moon.
Diana fell to her knees immediately, suffocating, her lungs tightened. The pressure of such a world even as a vision was killing her.
She enveloped herself with her aura, to finally be able to open her blurred vision. She coughed, trying to catch her breath.
Did humans live in such a place? But just as she thought these words she turned to look around.
She started shaking.
The entire place around her was an endless desert, but not a natural one. It was the result of a fierce battle that reshaped the earth.
"HOW DARE A MERE PUNNY CREATURE USE MAGIC!"
Then a loud explosion sound followed.
Diana trembled at the sudden scream. She fell to her knees, and her aura disappeared. Her mind went blank as if she was broken.
Suddenly a light aura woke her up, Malik's.
She got back to herself, but she couldn't move. Her legs gave up, she was afraid.
She slowly turned, finding five men and women, standing in the air.
As soon as her eyes fell on them Diana's mind broke again. Malik's aura roared harder trying to protect her.
Her eyes were open yet she couldn't see, but her senses slowly started getting back to her.
Diana despaired.
What kind of beings are they? How can they be stronger than Shiro? Her thoughts ran wild.
Sounds finally entered her ear.
A crazy man was laughing. "Who would have thought, we would find such fun toys in this lowly realm."
Another voice like a woman chuckling, "For us mere commoner deities of the lesser realm, to find an, even more, lower realm." She laughed madly, "There are no rulers here, only some lowly demons, and food. We never heard about this so-called race called humans in the heavy academy, they look like an uglier and weaker version of us, can't live past a hundred."
"Huh, wasn't your hundredth birthday just last month Tennin? You can finally marry huh."
These people, are just the trash of one of the lesser realms? Sect students? Then there should at least be armies of them, an entire civilization of human predators. Is this also the case for the higher realms? Diana's body shivered at her thoughts.
Crunchy sounds woke her up from her daze, as her vision slowly came back to her. "But compared to demon meat, they taste better."
"Leave some to me," jumped another woman.
Diana's eyes finally saw clearly, these two people jumping on what looked like a roasted human leg.
She felt the urge to puke as soon as she saw their teeth slowly tearing the flesh out of it.
She turned her eyes away in disgust.
"But this is a first, a human who can use magic. Even giving a hard time to our senior brother."
The frontman turned to look at the four murderously. They were hushed.
"I heard the others calling him emperor. I merely gave him a chance to prove himself. As a ruler, he stood in front and let his people run away. "
Diana's eyes widened. What.
"But I guess for a lowly creature he was entertaining for a while. I shall bring this to an end if it already isn't. What a shame for him to be born in this race."
"As expected of our senior brother, showing sympathy to ants."
This senior brother seem to be the one who screamed earlier furiously.
Diana followed his line of sight, only for her to stare blankly at a figure on the ground.
There was a figure of a man.
Diana puked at the sight of his body.
He had holes all over his body, cuts. You could see an ocean of blood filling below his knees.
The holes and cuts pierced his body, she could see behind him through each one of them.
His left arm was ripped, cut, hanging on his shoulder with only a layer of skin left untorn. Holding on to its dear life.
The bones in every part of his body seemed broken, some already showing outside his flesh.
His skin if not torn, was all painted with disgusting colors, showing the signs of raging blood caused by his internal injuries.
Blood was drooling down his mouth. There was a big scar on his head, diagonally lined on his face.
His face was painted red.
Diana could only lift her head after wiping her mouth, looking at his figure kneeling on the ground.
She stared at the figure while feeling immense pain in her heart.
Her heart trembled, her body was shaking, and she was wishing. She was begging with every part of her soul.
But reality hit her, as she stared at the figure's eyes.
Golden eyes, dim and dark, dead eyes, staring blankly at the ground.
Diana held her mouth with her hand and closed her eyes as she fell to the ground. Mumbling, "No, no, that can't be him, the-that-that can't be him." Tears fell down her cheeks, "No, no, he is still alive, at the ball. Yes, yes, alive, I was with him alive, alive." She turned to that kneeling figure, "g-get up-p, g-get up, you are alive, don't scare me," she smiled snuffling. "R-right, right, dear, get up," the figure was still not moving. She stated screaming in pain, her eyes red, "G-get up! Get UP! GET UP!" Held her heart in agony.
But he was deaf to her voice.
