Lucian's POV
I see a similar red curly head going into the Victoria's Secret in the mall and I smirk to myself. Well, that's what she meant by getting something for when I mark her.
Not like I'm complaining. I cannot wait to be honest but I have to. I need her to be an adult completely. The real reason is that I want her to recognize me as her mate before I mark her.
I want to see her eyes darkening and her wolf saying mine.
That is why I want to wait. Although she makes it harder day by day but I guess I need to, she's just 17 officially and I'm almost 23.
Behind her strolled Gwen, one of the cooks in my house, and closely followed Dylan. He doesn't need to go to Victoria's Secret with her. I roll my eyes.
I think that's enough. No need to suggest her something right? I mind link Dylan and he subtly nods and stops outside.
Now that they are inside, I stand approaching Dylan.
She wished to have some alone time so she gets it but after everything that my family has gone through, I don't want anything else happening, at least not to her.
"You did good" I approached Dylan and told him.
"Thanks, Lucian" he nodded.
No matter how I want my people to behave, Dylan has been with me throughout my whole life so him calling me alpha doesn't sound right.
Only in front of others, did I let him use the salutation.
"Did you get into contact with Jake?" I questioned Dylan.
Jake was our trader with humans. Whenever we needed to trade with the humans, we sent him. He had amazing negotiating skills and has been in the human world an ample amount of time.
"Not yet Lucian" he shrugged.
Since the last time we sent him, he was not able to communicate with us. According to the laws if he doesn't respond in a month we start looking out for him and he gets punished.
"I need Skye taking care of it," I told Dylan as he nodded. Skye was such a skilled tracker person he can track any living soul with some devices for hours.
After spending another half an hour I started getting impatient, my wolf was on the edge thinking about what Love was wearing.
I can't take it now.
"I'm gonna go check in on her," I told Dylan leaving. I didn't have to tell him what to do next because he is one of the best men I have.
Now, going through the store I found women giving curious glances to know who was this man coming into the women's store but as soon as they saw that it was their alpha, they bowed down in respect.
Oh god, where is she?
My nose caught a whiff of her and I followed it to the row of changing rooms.
I can smell her so I went and stood in front of the stall which had her scent.
I can just imagine how she'll react when she sees me standing here.
Hopefully, she'll regard us with kisses and pull us into the changing room my wolf said as I rolled my eyes.
It's not like I didn't want to, but that's all my wolf has been saying since we met her.
A weird feeling got into the pit of my stomach and I suddenly didn't feel so good. Something weird is going on.
I look around the store to see what my instincts have been trying to tell me.
It's probably nothing. My wolf said and I nodded. Maybe it's staying so close to her and still being away. Maybe I should go and clear up my mind.
Leaving the store, I nod to Dylan to keep an eye.

It's been more than 30 minutes and they just left the store.
Far away, I can see Love Happily walking around the store with Gwen on her heels.
Love is the most gorgeous woman i've ever met.
Deciding to get something for her, I get it to a gift shop.
There are a lot of soft toys and beautiful lamps.
My eyes scan around the shop trying to look for the section of flowers. Fake flowers who'll never tilt.
As my eyes were looking around, they fell on a llama. A little laugh escaped my lips as the llama looked like Love.
She'll probably kill me for comparing her with the llama but I guess it's worth it.
Now I just need to find the right time to give this to her. Or I can leave this in our bed before she comes. I smiled.
As they say, nothing is constant. So was my happy mood which vanished within a few seconds. I mind-linked Dylan to ask him if everything was alright.
I rushed to the door trying to look for her.
In front of me, an omega was passing so I stopped him and ordered him to get everybody in this mall to stop what they were doing and look for their Luna.
I can still feel weird. Oh, love, where are you?
Alerting my werewolf senses, I try sniffing her. She needs to be here.
As if the Moon goddess was listening to me, I found her scent. Within minutes the whole mall was as silent as an empty room.
I followed the scent which led me to the back of the mall. I still can't smell Dylan but first thing's first.
As if on cue, I heard an angry growl far away.
Love
My head started throbbing as I was seeing red. Whoever was trying to do anything to her is about to die.
I catch one more familiar scent as I hear Dylan running to catch up to me.
I can now see their heads in the forest.
Pushing the ground as fast as I can, I spend no time jumping in front of the 4 men.
They were hunters.
My hands found their way to one of the bastard's necks and I heard the soothing soak of his neck.
The other tried running but I beat him to it, jumping on top of him and biting his neck to leave a bloody mess. Dylan was holding another one by the throat and had already killed the last one as I turned around.
Love was sitting on the floor, her eyes wide and wet.
I go, sit in front of her and pull her to my chest.
She sobbed.
Her sobbing made my wolf angrier. I kissed her neck and caressed her.
I kept on kissing her but then suddenly, she stopped.
Her arms that were around me suddenly tightened and her lips let a painful moan leave.
My mouth tasted blood.
Blood?
It's as if a sudden switch was turned in my body.
As if I came out of dizziness. I was in a forest, which I don't know when I entered. Love was in my arms.
But it wasn't that which caught my eyes, it was her neck. Her neck had the mark of my teeth.
I marked her
My eyes went wide as I realized what has just happened. She was sobbing and making my heartache as all of this is my fault.
