Chapter 1 - Introduction

Introduction   Company branch in the Skythrone Continent A big comet like spark was hanging on the sky of the branch. This was the symbol of the company. The guards of the company were alert. The Freaks were in habit to attack at the branch as soon as the evening fell. This branch was located at the dangerous red lake. Trepo water races were part of the lake. They normally attack to test the competence of the players on the guard. The monsters of the Skythrone Continent were named as Freaks for reason. With the degeneration of years and cross breed of the monsters it caused them to become what they were today. The mix of abilities of the monsters made them Freaks of the Skythrone Continent. The players were given training to battle with these monsters in order to defeat them or kill. It was up to the player how he could polish his ability to become stronger. The players were not restricted to learn specific type of skill instead they were free to upgrade their weapons in order to defeat all six types of monsters. Normally players decided on some particular and handy weapon then upgrade with the relics of the monsters. Each upgrade made the weapon rank higher. It was normal for any relic to get steady with the weapons. The monsters were of mix breed so naturally their relics became feasible for weapon upgrade. The stronger players were considered stronger because of their stronger weapons. Other players could easily get envious however they were less likely to attack the stronger players or scheme against them. They knew that the stronger players were like asset of the company however recent changes and the actions of the executive were enough to air the enmity. The silent crack down of the executive brought wave of evil plans in working even the stronger players were not safe to keep continue the missions among teams. There were wolves in the skin of sheep. The uncertainty reached the level of danger. In the previous two hundred years this was the first ever that the players were facing threat from the company. Now most of missions were incomplete. It was due to the lack of interest of the players in the battles. The Skythrone Continent was not easy bone to bend without hard effort. The WIC Company succeeded in setting up its business here and exports the relics of various monsters in all other continents. The relics merchandise was the sole reason behind the piles of wealth.    It seemed someone intentionally wanted to destroy the company or revenge from the players. Presently the headquarters of the company were silent. They were minding their own business. The unmoving water of the lake trembled. The last rays of the sun were dying in the west in the pool of red. There were some seniors of the branch inside the building waiting for the boss to speak. Outside the guards were ready for the interruption of the water freaks. The surface of the water rose up monster splashed bucket of water toward the guard standing at the nearest pillar. The finest quality black overall of the player got drenched in the water and the droplets rolled down slowly. "See this scum, it came back today. Guess I might kill it if it remained playing around." The guard looked toward the monster and spoke. Deno had been selected for one month duty around this pillar. Later the duty would change. He might have overlooked this monster and the childish acts but every day it appeared to annoy. "Probably the monster wanted to tease you every day. Is there any harm in the bucket of water, the monster wanted to refresh your evening, isn't it?" the second player on the second pillar answered from the distance. He was rubbing salt on the present mood of Deno.   He fairly knew that Deno disliked this specific monster because of its terrible mix breed. Left part of the monster showed the large flipper while right part showed the two tentacles of octopus. Deno did not want to see this monster. However the monster seemed enjoying to annoy him every day. "Shut up man. Why would it tease for no reason? It must be up to something nonsense." Deno furiously pointed toward the monster. The monster was looking at Deno as if listening his words. The specific monster wanted to tease Deno because of his particular weapon relic. It was eyeing this relic and the player too. Since the weapon belonged to the player the monster wanted to use some trick and get his hands on the player. …. Far in the second Continent seven feet big man with visible abs and biceps seemed walking leisurely. He was quite peaceful and dreamy from appearance. One would think that despite having big built body he was harmless. There was small cut on his cheeks and the blood was seeping however it did not bother the man. He was as careless as he could be. Few town people casted temporary glance on him then went back to do what they were supposed to. They did not want to bother the silent man. From his appearance he was cultivator. All those who got training and do missions in the forests were named as cultivators by the normal peasants.   There was none other suitable term for them in actual facts. The people could see the difference. Most of the cultivators were seven feet or above height. They carried weapons with them. It was up to the taste of the person as to what type of dressing he liked so they were what they liked. Well Mudda was different. Several times he bought upper cover for the body however each battle ruined the clothing. Now he walked around without upper clothing. Only leather clothing around the waist. There was something shining on the sharp edges of the weapon. These were relics from the level twenty monsters. Each relic carried different aura and the ability. In the near or far of this town none of the peasants ever witnessed the cultivator of this level weapon. Mostly level ten or up cultivator mission players were called True Gainers. Level twenty or up were called Golden Gainers while the level fifty were Diamond Gainers. Well for most players it was impossible to attain. No one ever heard about Platinum Gainers because according to the myths they were the giant players willing to battle any monster without weapon. They were literally strongest against the monsters. Only few Freaks could give them tough time in the battle. But it was all imagination and related in the stories. No one witnessed them in real or in person. Mudda knew very well that increasing the level of the weapon would result the boost in the body strength. It was due to the presence of the suitable relic for the suitable weapons. The weapons were merged with the nature of the player or the players learned the ways of the weapons. Mudda was taken as one of the strong player in the WIC Company but he left the branch and settled in the nameless town to remain hidden. He did not want to continue the missions after knowing the truth behind the third owner of the WIC Company. It was never ending pursuit and he was tired of facing the hideous evil people. When joining the missions as cultivator he was enthusiastic about everything and wanted to become Gold Gainer. However he was no more interested in those missions. Living in this town was simple. He could spend years without anyone asking his name for the sake of courtesy. Mudda was not overly relaxing though. Whenever he heard the rumor that some stray monster was nearing the town he picked his weapon he went toward forest. For him it was normal to battle then return in the town taking the relic from the monster. He simply sold the relic and picked the exchange perks in the form of silver. Well the merchandise wanted to pay in the gold however he was helpless in the small town to pay real price of the relic. Mudda did not mind. He did not sell it for the sake of money instead he was not interested to keep the relic. The merchandise could understand the generosity of the cultivator. Mudda was sure that no one would search him however he twitched to see the burned cottage. Someone set his cottage on fire. He built it with care yet someone burned for no reason. Streaks of displeasure appeared on his face when his eyes fell at the burning ashes of the cottage. He swept his glance in his surroundings. The people of the town were not brainless to do this for any reason. They were mindless about his secret help and normal battles to save the town. The previous carefree expressions disappeared. He did not want to believe that the company found his whereabouts.
