Chapter 11 - Chapter Eleven

The sound of laughter and struggling woke Mira up from her sleep. Had to sit a moment as her memory came back. She immediately blushed from the thought of what had happened earlier. She knew it was more than a simple hug, she also ouldnt believe she did that. On top of touching his horns. She told her self she wouldn't touch them, why did she touch them? The laughed outside got her attention again. She tiptoed out the hut and looked up. There she saw Cyro trying to help a drunk laughing Alzie up onto his deck. She also managed to get an eye full from both of them. She forgot they were wearing skirts. Her head didn't really hurt, her metabolism didn't really let her get hangovers. She turned away from them and walked along the deck. He had a small hut, but the deck was spacious. A place he must have spent a lot of time. There were many different types of plants. Lavender, rosemary, lilies, and even peppermint.

He had more peppermint than anything else. The lavender mixed with the peppermint gave off a lovely smell. If you didn't know your plants it may be easy to mixed the two up. Both had purple little flowers, however, lavender was more vibrant. There was also the fact that they both smelled different and the leaves were different as well. Peppermint leaves were wider and many. Lavender was more of stalks and less leaves. She could hear his foot steps approaching her from behind. The scene from last night entered her mind again. She didn't look at him. She didn't want to show her blushing, painful cheeks.

"Is he going to be ok?" She definitely didn't want him to focus on her.

"Yeah, just got too drunk."

She could feel him behind her. They were touching, but it was close enough to sense it. She let out a heavy breath. She wasnt sighing or anything she was just trying to breath. Sometimes she would feel a sudden feeling of lack of air and have to try to catch it again.

"I've noticed you sigh quiet often." He had on her shoulder felt warm and smooth. "Is something bothering you?"

"Huh, oh no. I'm fine." She looked up at him and smiled. He was once again like a green river under the leaves.

"Alzie can sometimes be too dramatic." He looked to serious now staring out into the forest. "However, I honestly don't know what got to him this time."

"So, he gets drunk like that often." It was more of a question than a statement.

"Yeah, but he's usually a good guy."

"But didn't you say yesterday that he would want to experiment on me?" She just felt more confused now

"Hahaha, yeah I did. That's why I said usually."

He had now moved over to her right side. He seemed to be fiddling with the plants for a bit. She could tell him and Alzie had a strong friendship. Part of her felt like it was a little but more than that. It didn't bother her if anything, it would take attention off of her. She thought back to last night. The hug was nice though, she hadn't hugged someone in a long time. Then she remembered finding her pink spider. She need to figure out how he found that. Be fore she could ask, he grabbed her hand and pulled her to the rope.

"Come I want to show you something."

He used his tail to pick up a nearby bucket, and lift her up. Going down the rope was way easier than going up. The village was quiet as everyone seemed to be sleeping of last nights events. He lowered the bucket on the ground then himself. Once he was clear of the rope, he set Mira down. Mira was getting used to being picked up and carried places. They never even seemed to ask her if she wanted to go. She followed him through the forest to a willow tree.

"This is where we get our water."

He pulled her through the willow tree and into a dark space. The space look like a small cave in a mountain of stone. A blinding light hit them as they pushed further. She frozen in wonder and shock at the beauty around her. Roses, lilies, and so many other flowers were all around the perimeter. A small of pond of water sat in the middle. Another willow sat at the waters edge casting shade over the pond. It was like a fairytale. She marveled at it all. The way the light seemed to be at its warmest and brightest. The flowers bright and color ful the water giving a beautiful blue shine. She walked over to the pond and sat down. The water was clear like glass. Small rocks, and some moss, could be seen in the bottom. Their were no fish inside either. It really was a beautiful, serine area. She was so tempted to dip her toes in.

"This place isn't open to outsiders, but seeing as you are only one. " She watched he sit down next to her. He placed the bucket to his left. There was nothing between them.

"It's beautiful." She looked back at the water. It was so still it was unreal. "Are you sure I'm not dreaming?"

"Haha, if your dreaming then so am I." His laugh was light, but his expression said something else. "I found the spider in some ruins not far from here."

"Ruins?" So there was some part of humanity still around.

"Yes, ruins. I would like to share something with you." He didn't look at her once, a pained expression on his face. "But I...."

He looked to be struggling and in pain. She felt herself holding her breath. She hated that look. It was like she could feel exactly what he was feeling right there in that moment. She grabbed his hand and held it in hers. Hoping it would calm him and relax him. He looked at their hands, folded together, and smiled. That's better. Emotions tended to affect her physically not just mentally. When sad her chest and throat hurt, angry her chest had sharp pains. Happy overwhelmed her and made her pounce about. Anxiety was the worse. Her stomach would feel sick, her lungs would feel empty, and she would start rocking back and forth uncontrollably. Embarrassment made her cheeks hurt a great deal. Depression just made her numb to the world.

"Well, there's two parts." He place his other hand on top of hers. "One I don't want you to react badly. Two I need you to keep it a secret."

Why would she react badly to anything he said? And she must have already proved herself trustworthy. She had so many chances to tell Alzie their secret. Perhaps this was one secret that could only hurt him and that's why he didn't f c trust her. Whatever it is, it couldn't be as bad as finding herself in a place full of strange creatures.

"You can trust me."

She tried to get him to look at her, but he just wouldn't. Pulling her hand free, she placed it on the said of his face. She forced him to look at her. It didn't take much just a gentle pull with her fingers. His scales really were beautiful in every light. Under sunlight they shined like light colored tiger's eye. The yellow shined like amber. He really was the most beautiful beast she had ever seen. She wanted him to trust her, as much as she wanted to trust him. He hasn't shown her any reason not too. He just stared back with thise freckled yellow and orange eyes. Maybe she could grow to like being here.
