Her throat felt closed tight and felt as if she'd been stabbed there. It was only now that she was sitting here in the floor that it all hit her. The very real reality of never being able to see her family again. Most she wouldn't miss, but her sisters and grandparents she would. She tried to speak to him but all she could muster up was a whisper. He shouldn't have brought her here. He should have ignored her request and just taken her back to the village. It hurt too much. Everyone she ever knew are now dead, and she was left here alone. Surrounded by Beasts who hated her, and wanted to experiment on her. She hugged her journals and paints close to her. Here on this room now were the only things left from her life. If she had known she would have taken more pictures. Spent more time with those she cared for. His voice echoed over her, she hadn't realized he walked over.
"Are you alright? "
It was gentle but having him standing over her made her feel like a small helpless child. She shook her head no, unable to speak anymore. She could feel his arms wrapping around her and lifting her up. He carried her over to the bed and sat her in his lap. He had taken the blanket and wrapped it around both of them. They just sat there in a warm bundle. Tears were starting flow faster. She couldn't stop it. She didn't want to cry now, she just wanted to be home. Crying in front of people was one thing she always managed to avoid. Until now. She felt him pull her closer as the sobs became more chaotic. His head was buried in her shoulder again. His chest against her back. The hug was tight enough to restrict just enough movement. Allowing her to feel like she was in a safe warm cocoon. She could feel him begin to rock her and hum. Her tears began to slow with every rock. Her eyes kept trying to close, but she fought them for as long as she could. Sleep took over her and she fell into darkness.
When she woke up she found her self alone on the bed. Startled, she sat up and looked around. It had grown dark but small candles lit the room up. The bed was next to the doorway, she found it convenient that way. To the left of the door was her shelves full of her books, painting stuff, and other craft stuff. Next to them was the cupboard she had opened earlier. On the wall opposite she had placed her desk. To the right of the bed, up against the wall, was her dresser. Next to the dresser was the big window that had looked over the city. He stood there looking out it. The glow of the setting sun making him look more orange. She was still trapped in an unknown world, with a beautiful beast. She got up, keeping the blanket wrapped around her. The floor was freezing through her socks. In just the short time she had been there, they were already wearing thin. She moved next to him to see what he was staring at. The view was so much more amazing. It was like looking at some sort of ancient ruins covered in vines and plants. The sunset casting a fire like glow on the whole place. It was straight out of some fantasy world.
She felt him shift and then his arm was around her. Pulling her closer to him. He rested his chin on her head. She didn't mind it. Though his chin was a bit uncomfortable. It was in that moment that she made her final decision. For now on she would stay by Cyros side, and trust him to the best of her ability. He brought her here, only ever spoke the truth to her, and has shown her kindness. She needed to survive this new world and she'd rather do it with his help.
"Do you feel better now?" His voice was low and sent a shiver down her spine.
"Yes, thank you. And thank you for bringing me here."
She turned around and buried herself into him. She could feel him instantly relax as he let out a big sigh. He must have been on the edge of his seat the whole time. She looked up at him to find him staring down at her. She smiled and stepped back, grabbing his hand.
"Now it's my turn to show you something."
She led him over to the bed and picked up her journals. One black and full of her paintings and the other green. Inside it was all kinds of plant research that she had done. The third one was red. That one was where she put her private thoughts. She opened the green one and sat down. She looked at him waiting for him too sit as well. When he sat across from her, she crawled over and sat in his lap.She showed him the different plants and talked about where she found certain ones. She told how she grew some and others just refused to grow for her. When she came to the peppermint plant he stopped her from moving on.
"Tell me about this one." His eyes sparkled almost when he said that.
"Well, first it's my favorite plant." She leaned into him adjusting herself. "Not just for the smell either. There's a story that I love that accompanies it."
"Really? Must be a great story." He snuggled into her causing her to giggle.
"You see there was once a nymph named Minth."
She began telling him the story of how Hades fell in love with Minth. How Persephone had turned her into a plant out of jealousy so all may step on her. But then how Hades had made her smell of peppermint. So that anytime someone stepped on her they would smell the scent of peppermint. The smell of the peppermint would remind everyone of Minths' beauty. She secretly wished for someone to love her like that. She found it to be better than the story of Romeo and Juliet.
"So peppermint is basically the smell of beauty." She looked up at him as he spoke. He was smiling down at her with a more noticeable look as well. She blushed and looked away. "Well, peppermint is my favorite plant too. Because you smell of sweet peppermint."
"What?" She froze for a second remembering what Alzie had said. "You can smell me?"
"My sense of smell is stronger than others." Before she could say another word he was already getting up. "We need to get back we stayed too late as is."
She nodded in agreement and got up as well. She walked to her cupboard and grabbed out a black backpack. She places her journals inside, along with some paints. She remembered her clothes and shoes must still be there. She quickly searched and found her combat boots. She quickly placed them on, then searched in her clothes. She could atleast wear a more comfortable dress or something. She found a green dress and a black dress. She stuffed those in the backpack and searched for a skirt and shirt. She was lucky enough to find a matching pair. She then went and got an extra pair of nice shoes. Just incase. She put her black combat boots on before walking out the door. Everything would need a good cleaning when they got back. She almost walked out the door before doubling back for socks. As she was stuffing them, Cyro came up behind her and picked her up. She reached out and grabbed her blanket as he carried her out the door. She couldn't help but want to take her things with her. He didn't put her back on the ground when they got outside. It was completely dark now. Strange sounds and noises would echo through the trees every now and then. She held on tight as he darted from one tree to the next. One of the sounds seemed to get closer. It was more of a strange, terrifying shriek. He was so tense, she knew something wasn't right.
"Shit!" Him cursing only caused her to be more fearful. "We should have stayed back there. Your scent is drawing them in somehow."
Chills rain down her back at the word them. Them who or what was them. She didn't want to know nor did she want to find out. He scaled up the tree he had hid behind. She was to scared to see if anything was following.
