Lucia, Alvis' mother wiped her tears after hearing her son say that he was fine. When she calmed down, a military officer interrupted the mother's reunion with her son. The voice suddenly gave some directions and showed him some memories of Alvis, it hurt his head a little but they were just a few memories.
The military officer who came with him was a part of the military and was Alvis' superior with who he had a close relationship. The memories consisted of some military etiquette and some other information regarding the man. Rex saluted the military officer for not raising any suspicion.
" At ease Sergeant Lucent, You don't need to salute me anymore. I came as a friend today." Ron said as got closer to Alvis as well. " You left the army, why?" He asked looking curious.
" I just don't feel like fighting anymore. I regret not being able to live with my family after coming so close to death." Rex said as he practised, it was the same answer he was going to give to Alvis' mother if she asked.
" Hahaha, You finally came to your senses, you were one of my favourite subordinates. Never afraid of death and living with ambition, however, I always wanted to tell you to stop after one point." Ron paused and then continued, " It's good, but won't you reconsider, the war has finally ended. It is now time to reap the benefits."
" I can not sir, I have already explained why." Rex was a little afraid that Ron will pressure him with threats.
" Is that your final decision?"
" Yes."
" Alright, Well then, let me thank you." Ron bowed before Alvis. " You have saved many lives on the battlefield and fought valiantly for our kingdom, my brave soldier, thank you for your service. I would also like to thank you as a friend."
" Please, you do not have to do that." He bowed in return, " Thank you, sir."
" Well then, here is a gift for you. I had a few, take one each month, it will help you slowly heal internal injuries and burn marks."
He handed him a bottle of five transparent pills, he did not understand how can some pills heal his fatal injuries.
[ These are low-grade healing pills. It will help ease your discomfort a little.]
' Are you kidding me? I will need an organ transplant, how can this heal my internal wounds.'

Rex thought for a bit and then thanked Ron. He accepted the healing pills and sat down on a chair for a talk. After a little talk, Ron left, Lucia was just only listening from the side not disturbing the conversation with Ron. Ron was the officer who brought her the news of her son's disappearance, he was not able to keep track of Alvis' squad because of the chaos on the front line and had believed him to be dead.
" Son, Let's go back home," Lucia said with tender eyes. She looked like a kind woman, even Rex who has never had a caring mother could feel that Alvis had a completely different life when it comes to family.
They didn't talk much as Rex felt a little distant, he was also feeling guilty about lying but seeing Lucia relieved, he could never tell her about Alvis. He decided to leave the Rehab facility, and the staff member all came to say goodbye to him. Lucia was surprised and happy that her son was regarded as such a kind person.
He felt a little embarrassed in front of Lucia but hid it well. Before Leaving Lucia had examined his body before leaving, the burnt marks go all the way to his back and arms. There were many scars from the battle which almost made Lucia faint more. Her brown hair was turning grey because of old age and this had increased the speed of that process.
She gently slapped Alvis, she was angry at Alvis for not returning sooner and coming to senses only when his body was a complete wreck.
" Even though I look like this, I am plenty strong." He said trying to reassure her.
He flexed his newly build muscles which were better than what Alvis could ever achieve. She was not happy about it and glared at Alvis. They packed whatever he had in the bag, along with other documents, and all of his money was deposited in a bank. He only had enough in hand money to spend on his health.
Lucia informed him that she had already booked a carriage to go back. Rex felt a little scared about what was going to happen next, suddenly memories of Alvis flowed into his mind as he remembered his childhood and military days. He knows everything about Alvis so it will not be hard to leave him.
In his memories, there were many supernatural things that he had never seen in his life. Alvis has encountered many people who can use magic, he didn't know what to make of this. The concept of magic was a fictional thing back on earth but here it is a reality.
He was surprised but then remembered the biggest supernatural thing which was his soul possessing Alvis' body. Was it god that has done this or some kind of devil? He was never answered these things ever before by the voice.
On the way back, Lucia asked many questions, she was curious about his son's life in the military. He answered according to the memories of the boy, Lucia also told Rex how her life has been.
She told him that, Alvis' little was tested for magical aptitude was quite gifted so she went to attend the Academy two years after Alvis left for the army, it was thanks to Alvis sending money back home that they were able to afford her studying magic.
For the last three years, she had been living alone and running her bakery. She had hired some helpers as the bakery expanded and was earning enough to live a good life.
