Artemis’ POV
In the middle of the night, I get a text from Letitia just moments before I fall asleep.
‘Do you have time for a getaway?’ she asks me.
I smile at the message and reply, ‘Probably’ as she starts typing.
‘Then come on over. I'll wait for you outside the building. Tell your Alpha to let you out for a while to play.’
With a grunt and a smile, I stand up. I pack a few things and leave the room with a small bag in hand. Beck meets me before I reach the elevator.
“You're leaving without saying goodbye?” he asks with his arms crossed, leaning against the door frame wearing only pajama pants. His hair is tousled, and his tattoos stand out against his cream-colored skin like neon lights in the dark.
“Letitia has come for me. I’ll go with her for a while, as I haven’t seen her since the fair,” I say without asking permission.
He nods and moves toward me, tucking my hair behind my ear.
“Come back soon,” he says a whisper.
