Artemis’ POV
Gordon’s smiling in a vicious way; his smile has always reminded me of a dog that wants to go after a bone.
“Go ahead, puppy. I dare you to try anything against me,” he threatens.
Without thinking, I let go of my arm and before he can figure out what I’m doing, I slap his chest with my open palm to push him away from me. As soon as he takes two staggering steps, I turn, lean over, and hit him full in the chest with a kick that launches his a** against the ground.
He lets out a gasp, then a grunt. He stands up with his fists raised, but by then I'm already waiting for him.
“Stop it!” says Letitia.
I push her away. “No. I want to see what this idiot is trying to do.”
Gordon lunges at me without thinking, his clenched fist aimed directly at my face. His attack is so straightforward that it almost makes me laugh.
I dodge it, grab his fist, and with the force of his same attack, spin him around as he falls against a row of motorcycles.
