Being back with my pack has me feeling out of place.
Although I haven’t been treated the best in Adrian’s pack, I’ve gotten used to being around those people and following their routines. So being back home somehow makes me feel like an outsider.
I asked Adrian to come to the wedding with me every day leading up to it, and he gave the same response every time with the same tone of voice. I really thought I would be able to change his mind now that things are going… good between us. But he made it very clear he didn’t want to go with me because he still holds a grudge against the Midnight pack.
And yet, I’m here alone. It’s the day before the wedding, and I’m alone.
Well, that’s not completely true. Michelle is my plus-one, because Adrian had asked her to accompany me to the wedding in his place—which I was grateful for. But although it was better than going alone, I also wanted him to be with me instead.
