Kaede was a girl I didn't get much time with lately because of everything that has happened, but I'm slowly making up for it. I've got to give time to everyone again since I disappeared for so long.
"Have you heard anything yet?" Kaede asks while putting her hand up to my cheek.
"What do you mean?" I respond back with a bit of confusion in my voice.
"They are calling prophets a joke apparently. All because of the last job." Kaede says with a bit of an annoyed tone.
I don't blame them for thinking that since I would've expected better out of myself too. Times have changed though so I can't please everyone anymore.
I've got to get a grasp on what's going on with the enemy so I can better prepare myself for these fights in the future.
"It's not a big deal." I reply in a calm manner.
"But you're better than what they say." Kaede says while staring at me.
"They'll see in time." I reply before walking past her.
I'll prove that I can do a hell of a lot more than I did during that job. I've just got to get some information on everything now.
After that I'll be ready to fight again.
With that, I left the room to find Vivian since she was the one that's told me the most so far. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to ask her more about everything anyway.
She's the one that's apparently in charge of our group after all. I still don't get how all this came to be but I'm starting to understand slowly as we move along.
"You sure we shouldn't just stop?" Zara asks with a serious tone.
"Yes. This is my fate." I responded while walking down the hallway.
I can't give up just because I got my ass handed to me and almost died, or else I would've given up a long time ago. A lot happened back then, a lot more than I was ever ready for.
All of that made me who I am though, even if the enemy has gotten stronger. I'll overcome this and beat them all as well.
"Kamako what are you doing wandering around?" Vivian asks as she stands before me.
"Actually I was looking for you." I answer while shifting my focus to her.
"Oh, is everything okay?" She questions as a look of concern appears on her face.
"I just want to get some more information on everything, I don't want that happening again." I respond with a serious tone.
I don't want to keep experiencing near death situations anymore, I've dealt with them enough in my life. I'll change for the better and prove to my parents that I'm capable of saving this world.
Wherever they're watching me from.
"I understand. Okay, come with me." Vivian says before starting to walk.
I followed behind Vivian for a little while until we reached a strange door.
"Through here." She says while opening up the door.
As she opened up the door I could see these strange cells as far as the eye could see. Groaning came from some of them while silence came from others. What exactly is in these cells?
"What is this?" I question while looking around.
"Where we keep these monsters of destruction." Vivian answers while walking.
I followed behind for a good while as I observed with each step we took. The cells had similar monsters like the one I had fought before, but some of them didn't usher a single word.
Then we finally reached some big doors at the end of the hallway, all with these strange engravings on each of the doors. The doors looked like they had been shut for a long time, but what is going on here.
This all seems quite excessive for keeping everyone safe.
"The knowledge you want is past these doors, but I cannot enter with you." Vivian says while pushing the doors open.
Creeeeeek. The doors slowly began to push open as chains rattled. Something was inside of this room as well, but what exactly was this thing that I was about to meet..?
I entered the room and it was barely lit, but I could make out what appeared to be eyes.
"Someone new. Curious aren't you?" The voice asks.
"Yeah." I respond calmly.
This thing doesn't sound right at all but I don't have much of a choice since Vivian brought me over here for a reason. I'm confused why she couldn't enter though.
"The world has changed, evolved if you will. But not just the world, Hell as well. Beings of great power have risen." The Voice echoed.
"What exactly do you mean?" I ask while stepping a little closer.
"Beings that surpass the limits of demons, they offer contracts to humans for a cost. Some find it to be worth it, while others love short lives." The Voice answers.
"Did the woman outside the doors do this?" I question with a curious tone.
"I cannot answer that question, for I do not know of each person's contracts or lives. But I do sense the being within you, yet I do not sense the power of it in any way." The voice says with a surprised tone.
This just makes me wonder what the people here are, since Vivian had some serious power back when she saved me. It makes me question what other power resides with each contract.
"What about the demon lord?" I ask with a curious tone.
"No one has seen Rin since the day he battles a prophet. Though it seems that prophet is alive here today." The Voice answers with a small chuckle after.
The being seems to know who I am but what intentions does it truly have? What if it's just trying to make me lose trust in the people around me?
"What are you?" I ask while staring into the darkness.
"A Devil of Chaos. Hahahaha." It answers as it begins to laugh.
