"Just stay down please. This isn't fun anymore." The Creature says its hand goes through my stomach.
"Gah..No.." I say weakly as blood drips down my mouth.
I felt the instinct in me kick in and teleported a few meters away while trying to keep myself from falling over. It was slowly getting harder to see, but I knew this wasn't my time to die yet.
"1, 2, 3." A voice echoes.
Huh, what's that?
"Bang." The Voice echoed once more.
Before my eyes I watched as the creature began to explode from these tiny holes that bursted right through it. Almost like it was just shot multiple times by some heavy artillery.
"Noooo!!!! I will finish!!" The Creature screams with anger in its voice.
I watched as the creature began to charge in at me once more but all I could see was its whole body getting blown apart with each second that went by. Who is doing this?
Tap. Tap.
Someone tapped on my shoulder and as I slowly turned I could see the bright purple hair from before, was it Vivian?
"Not too bad, but you could definitely use some work." Vivian said as she helped me up.
All I could feel was immense pain going throughout my whole body as she helped pick me up. I didn't even realize that I fell to my knees but I guess that's what happens when you're going numb.
"...I wasn't done.." I say while slowly blacking out.
"I thought he was supposed to be a prophet." An unfamiliar voice says.
"He is, just needs a bit of help." Vivian replies with a positive tone in her voice.
Everything faded before me and I could see right now was Zara.
I've not seen Zara in a long time since it was usually when I fell asleep or when I was in a life or death moment like this. Her beauty never ceases to amaze me.
"You look like shit Kamako, how are we going to survive in this new environment?" Zara asks with concern in her voice.
"I'm honestly not sure just yet." I answer while floating in the abyss.
"Kamako I'm getting worried about what lies below. That abyss is getting closer and closer with each time you almost die." Zara says while getting closer to me.
"It won't get any closer, I won't let it consume you or whatever it is." I reply with a reassuring tone.
"Hahahah. Or make a contract with me." A sinister voice said from deep in the abyss.
Before I could say anything else, everything began to disappear as I woke up to the sight of Irie on the side of my bed. It felt like old times all over again since this is exactly what happened whenever I got hurt.
"Kamako you're awake, I'm glad you're okay." Irie says with a relieved tone.
"I'm not going anywhere, so I am definitely okay." I reply while slowly sitting up.
I wasn't in the sanctuary though, this room was a lot different from the ones that we had there. Where did they take me exactly?
"Irie can I have the room?" Vivian asks while standing at the door.
"Yeah, of course." Irie responds while getting up and moving away from the bed.
She walked away and Vivian came in while closing the door behind her. It seems I'm in for a great conversation.
It seems she was completely right when she told me that everything had changed and that demons were a lot stronger. I'm confused though since that didn't seem anything like a demon at all.
"You did better than I expected, but you will need my help." Vivian says as she takes a seat next to the bed.
"What was that thing?" I question while rubbing my head.
"I'd like to say it was a devil, but things are much more complicated than that. Devil's are stronger than demons but are the closest to the strength of the demon lord." Vivian answers while flipping a pencil around her fingers.
"But I defeated the demon lord. These things seemed stronger than the demon lord." I say with a confused tone.
"It's not the same lord. But that's what makes it scarier Kamako. You'll understand in time." Vivian replies with a serious expression on her face.
Demons, Devil's, and a stronger demon lord? I'm not understanding what's going on here. How did this much change over the fight with the demon lord two years ago.
It's insane, but that makes the battlegrounds a lot more intense than before. I'm not even sure what to make of it all.
"Demons are still around but have been lying low since Rin's disappearance." Vivian says while staring at me.
"Then why not tell people they are going after something completely different?!?!" I reply with a pissed off tone.
"To test the so called prophet. But it seems you passed by my standards." Vivian says with a bit of happiness in her voice.
Everything has been so confusing with each sentence she says, but I guess I should just trust her for the time being. Irie hasn't said much about the topic or well, anyone else.
"I'll check back on you shortly." Vivian says while standing up.
"Thanks." I reply while watching her leave the room.
I was stuck there with my thoughts about everything that I've been told the last few days, but I couldn't make sense of it. Did the artifact and my power really cause all this?
Maybe Rina would be the one to ask about this since she's a god or half God or whatever. She definitely would be the one person I could rely on to ask about this.
She's seen a lot in her lifetime I'm sure, unless I'm wrong about it.
Knock. Knock.
"Come in." I say while the door opens up.
"Hey." Kaede says while entering the room.
"Didn't expect to see you Kaede. But it's nice to see you." I reply while getting out of bed.
