Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

I mind linked to Johnson to stay close to me and not shift. I sniffed the air again and we slowly moved closer to the entrance of the cave.

It was dark and you couldn't see inside so I didn't know how deep it went. Her scent was stronger though and I knew she could smell us too. After another minute of no movement I shifted back into my human form.

I stood and took the vial from around my neck. I looked over at Johnson's brown wolf and he was still looking into the dark cave. I opened the vial and dumped the ashes into my hand before stepping closer to the entrance of the cave.

"COME OUT HERE NOW!" I screamed using my Alpha voice and took a step back to wait.

A tiny growl was heard and slowly the small wolf took steps into the moonlight. Her paws and legs were coated in dark dry blood and her small face matched. She looked up at me with her small head and her brown and green eyes stared into my blue and milky ones.

I didn't move as I was still trying to wrap my head around the fact that she was indeed a small wolf puppy. I could pick her up in one hand if I needed. She seemed to notice me taking in her small stature and began to bare her tiny teeth at me. Even though they were small I knew they were like razors and could still give damage. Plus I was sure I would get some type of infection since she clearly feeds off of live kill.

I had to be fast, faster then her and slowly inched my foot closer to her. As soon as I did though her eyes widened and she took a step back into the cave shielding herself from the light of the moon. The only thing reveling she was still there was her one green eye that was practically glowing now.

Suddenly small green fires began to grow along the entrance of the cave and I took a step back and watched in awe.

"What is this?" I mind linked to Johnson.

"I don't know Alpha."

Johnson sounded just as confused as I felt when seeing the green flames burn brighter and I had to take step back because whatever was causing the flames was making my skin feel like it was going to melt.

I stayed staring at her one green eye that had stayed looking at us. The air started to heat up and beads of sweat started to form on my forehead and neck. Fin's wolf started to whimper and him and Johnson proceeded to back away from the cave. The flames seemed to be overheating them as well.

I remembered I was still holding the ashes in my hand and the heat was making my hands start to sweat. If it got too wet it couldn't be used so I needed to do this now. I let out a powerful growl at the puppy and when I did the flames got smaller and I wasn't going to wait around for them to grow again.

I ran towards the cave and I stepped into the flames and ignored the burning sensation as I threw the hazel wood ash at the small wolfs green eye. A whimper was let out and the fires completely disappeared. I grabbed the nap of her small neck and slung her from the cave.

A yap was let out when her small body hit the gravel and soon her whimpers turned into screams as smoke began to rise off her coat. The ash would force her to shift back and it would be painful. Being forced to shift into either form against your will always was.

Soon enough the small pups body formed a small human one that was covered in thick dark blood. Instead of white fur the small girls body was shielded by long frizzy blonde curls that had been stained with blood also. She stayed curled into a ball as she screamed in pain from the ash.

I went and grabbed a handful of the small girls bloody curls and forced her to sit up and look at me. Her body was vibrating from shock and pain and my eyes grew wide when I realized she was just a child.

No bigger then seven or eight.

She looked up and her eyes were the same as her wolfs. One green and one dark brown almost looking black. Tears began to brim across them and I lowered my eyes to look at the collar that was around her neck. Her skin was purple and bruised and the collar must have been on a long time because I could see the skin trying to heal back over it.

The small green light blinked from the black box and I could finally tell what the sick smell was that was mixed with her scent. Yellow pussy boils lined around her throat and it was obviously infected. I let go of her hair and stayed crouched down to the ground next to her.

"Who are you ?" I asked sounding more like an Alpha then I had meant to.

She looked up at me with her blood stained face and I watched her cock her head to the side with a confused look in her eyes. She studied my face and when her mouth went to open the light on her collar turned from green to red and the small girls body was jerked back to the ground.

Her head began to shake violently as the sound of multiple shocks rang out from the collar. Each one would make her body jolt and then stiffen and she yelped still sounding just like a small pup each time. She rolled over from her back to her stomach and began screaming violently as she tried to force herself to shift back.

The ash would prevent that from happening though for at least a few more days. I stood up away from the small girl as more shocks kept coming from the collar causing her to let out awful noises of shrieks and groans.

I turned to face Johnson's brown wolf and mind linked to him.

"I don't know what to do! It won't stop shocking her!" I practically screamed at him.

His wolf marched over past me and to the small girl. When she seen his wolf she tried to move away from him but more shocks were let out from the collar forcing her body to jerk and then stiffen again. I watched Johnson move over her and take his paw and quickly swiped it across the back of her neck.

Another horrible scream was let out and I knew he had to cut through skin to get it off. The collar was laying in the small rocks and granite and the small girls body had stopped jerking and moving and no sounds were heard again from her. I quickly came to her side and moved the dirty hair from her face. Her neck looked disgusting and painful.

The puss smell was strong and her eyes stayed shut. Her small chest was heaving up and down rapidly and I could hear her pulse start to slow down. I scooped her up in my arms and laid her across Johnson's back.

"Take her to the infirmary quick." I mind linked him.

He waisted no time in running away from the cave and disappeared into the woods. I looked down at the collar and picked it up to examine.

It was just a simple black strap and small black box. On the inside of it you could see the electric probes that practically had been embedded into her throat. It was also covered in blood and puss and small pieces of white fur.

I looked up to see Fin's wolf still with me. I mind linked him to tell him to head home and he too ran and disappeared into the pine trees. I held tightly to the collar and began walking back into the woods on foot.

I was worried about the girl, not because I cared or felt sympathy. I needed her alive and even if she was just a kid she could still give useful information. Her different colored eyes flashed in my mind after a minute.

They reminded me of my own mismatched ones, except hers were natural and mine was.. well forced. I couldn't help chuckling to myself thinking about the pup cleverly pushing me into the same trap I had set for her.

'She's a bold little thing.'

Zeb said, which surprised me. He wasn't one to give many compliments, but I suppose seeing as we were massive and she was tiny it was hard not to find it amusing.

I shook my head of the thought when I reminded myself who she belonged to. She was a little spy for all we knew and she was the enemy.

I couldn't let the fact that she was so young prevent me from being tough on her. If she thought a few shocks to the throat are painful then she still has a lot to learn.
