I snorted, then giggled, and then it grew into a full-on laugh. "I'm sorry. For a moment there, I thought you said I was a warlock. But that is impossible, right? Warlocks are just evil witches, that's what all the books say." she refused to meet my eyes, and neither did Mallon or Eva.
"What did I tell you about those books Elina?" Mallon asked and I looked at him with wide eyes.
"'The books do not lie but they do not tell the full truth either.'" How ironic was it that he had told me that only a few hours ago?
"Exactly." He sighed "the majority of information there was to satisfy the human need for knowledge but there's a lot of things we left out. A lot of assumptions we haven't corrected." I turned back to Lyzia.
"Can you please explain what you mean?"
"For a warlock to be made, one parent must be a witch, the other must be a shifter. If a mother survives carrying the baby to term, they too will become a warlock."
