The next time I woke the sun had only just risen and for the first time in days my body didn't hurt as much. The was no one in the room and I stretched, sighing in relief when a check confirmed everything was working just fine. My hand hit a candle holder on the table and by the time I'd leaned over the bed to replace it and right myself again, someone was in my room.
It was Eva, the woman I'd met when I had gone to the bone claw pack. I waved. "Good morning." She waved back and came inside as a yawn threatened to split my jaw and I winced at my bad breath, I pulled my clothes to smell myself and nearly recoiled.
I met Eva's eyes again. "I need a shower."
She bit her lip and nodded. "It is not that bad, but you probably shouldn't go out looking like that." She gestured and I raised a hand to my face and hair. I didn't even have to look and see I was horrible. "You okay to get clean yourself?" Eva asked and I nodded slowly as I slid out of the bed.
