Mallon turned to me with a monstrous face, part man, part beast. He had nearly doubled in size yet despite his face he was still mostly human. His feet had torn through his shoes, he'd lost his leather jacket somewhere in the shuffle inside and his shirt was barely clinging to him. His jeans stayed on for some reason that eluded me. It seemed to grow with him. It also appeared that Mallon was not all there, the beast stared at me with intelligent but unfamiliar eyes. A burning amber, as opposed to the grayish yellow shifters had in their humanoid form.
He growled when I shakily raised the weapons in my hands. "Okay big boy, apparently you don't like that," I mumbled as I slowly lowered it to the ground. "See?" I cajoled, keeping my eyes on him the entire time. My hands still raised, I tried to step back but he growled again and I froze.
