Once I had reached the gates I parked the cart and waited for the guard to open them. My phone rang just as I was getting out. It was Quen.
"Heeeey," he sang and I chuckled as I began my trek to where I could take the bus.
"Hey you too, what's up?"
"Nothing much, when are you going to be home?"
I drew up the arm of my coat to see the time. It was a quarter past 2 pm. "Around 5 or 6?" I frowned. "Why?"
"I did tell you earlier I want to take you out to dinner right?"
"Oh! That!" I rubbed my forehead. "Today has been hectic, it slipped my mind."
"Will you make it though?"
"Yeah, sure! I had forgotten, I will set an alarm or something."
I heard a loud clang and some murmurs. "You okay? Are you home?"
"Yeah, I am fine." He said, his breath heaving just a little bit. "Went to see some friends."
I nodded. "Ah," The bus arrived just as I reached the bus stop and I got on.
"Well, I gotta go, I will see you later."
