"Hey, I was wondering if we could meet...to discuss about the project. I'll be coming with my laptop." He says.
"Yeah, sure." She says and hangs up.
Right, Jed's coming over to talk about the project. She gets off the bed with her laptop and she walks over to the garden, it always had a table surrounded with chairs. She placed the laptop on the table and turn it on.
"Meet me in my garden." She texts.
She clicks some things and scroll through the laptop before stopping at a site. She was searching for the title "what do pretend married couples do?" when her wifi lost connection.
"Darn it, fucking website!" She yelled slamming her palm on the table.
She couldn't do anything as she was connected to Cameron's wifi but it seems he either blocked her from using it or he toggled his WiFi off. She had no router of her own and she isn't in talking terms with Cameron, so she just let it slide.
Dylan joins her in the garden couple of minutes later.
"Hey."
"Hey beautiful." He says smirking at her.
"Mind if I get you something?"
"No, I'm fine." He says leaning back on his chair.
"I insist."
He finally agrees to have a glass of wine with her.
She walks back into the house to get them and she returns shortly after with a bottle of tequila and two shot glasses. She placed them on the table and settle beside him before popping the bottle of tequila open.
"This is tequila. Alcohol...not wine." He says.
"Are you a light head?" She asks looking at him seductively.
It did have an effect on him, it made him uneasy and he adjusted on his seat before speaking up again.
"Uh, no. Let's just go on to what we have for the day."
"Okay."
"So, I was hoping we could talk about the project, at least make a list of all we'd do." He says.
"Sure. Show me what you got."
He opens his laptop and unlocks it. He taps a note app and goes to "Saved" and he taps it open and then a page with some sticky notes pops up.
"Okay, so I did a research. The internet didn't help much. So, I thought we could discuss about this." He says clicking on one of the sticky notes and it opens.
It had the title, PROJECT 1- PLAN
"Couples plan and so I thought we'd plan together what our subsequent projects would be like". He adds.
"Well, since we're doing pretend married and we have to act like an actual couple to ace our final exams,I suggest we go on to do what actual couples do. How about we start with buying a house. Talking about it first then buying it." She says.
"What? How are we gonna come up with that huge amount of money for a house?"
"Aha! Project 1- Save money". She says typing it in the app in the laptop.
"Are you even listening to me?"
"Yeah. Relax. We're not actually going to buy a house. We're just going to price it but not buy it." She says.
"Sounds crazy but okay."
"Yeah, but we're going to save money.... we're actually gonna do it. We'd gift ourselves items too. It's what couples do."
"Oh nice. We'd go on dates too?"
"Silly! Stop flirting." She says.
We type in some major projects.
"So, we're going to start with saving up money. You find you a decent job, your dream job is preferred. I'll do same too. Keep notes and summaries of all we'd do, send me the PDF documents on weekdays for editing."
"Alright Missy."
"So, what's your dream job?"
"I want to be the CEO of an oil company."
She nudged me and said "That's not so easy dumbass! Who's gonna hire you as a CEO? You don't have a degree yet. Another possible dream job."
"That's my only dream job".
"Our graduation depends on this, Dylan. So, please...find something easier. You could work somewhere else okay? You can work as a PA or even as a front desk officer". She says.
"PA's just fine. Besides, it won't be all that hard for me to get me a job as a PA, I'll work in my mom's company". He says.
"Good, we got it sorted out. My dream job can't work for me now, so I'll just stick with a secretary job or a waitress job. I already sent my resume to an organization down town. We'll work for 2 months. How do you see that?" She asks.
"Aside from working for the money to fund our project, I'm also working for myself so that's going to be until I graduate.
"Fine. I'm glad we're making a little progress. Project 2...that'll be...checking out house prices, we'll pen it all down. I'll handle the project arrangements, you'll handle the summaries."
"No, we'll handle the project arrangements together. Summaries, I think it should be different. You should have yours, in as much as our project is a couple thing, we're meant to submit individual summaries." He says.
"I'd do the project arrangements. We'll bring more projects, I'll arrange them. Besides, I'm not going to copy your summary, I keep a journal so you don't worry about me." She says.
She fills the shot glasses with tequila and gives him one. She gulps down hers immediately, then she refills her shot glass.
"I'm so in love with tequila."
"It's uh....a nice drink. Isn't that Cameron? He's your next door neighbor?" He asks.
"Yes Dylan". She turns around and tilts her head up. Cameron walks away from the window after seeing her stare at him.
"So, I guess that's it then. Uh, I'll see you next time." He says.
"Wait, are you leaving because of Cameron?"
"No, I just want to start working on my project."
"Oh, nice. Just so you know, you'll have to pick me up every morning for school and stick by my side throughout school hours, maybe not through out but most of the time and not to forget, walk together." She says.
"Okay." He says and exits the garden.
She stays there a little longer, drinking shots of tequila.
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
"Khelanie!" Mom yells.
"Shh". She says with her head dangling. She looks up at her mom and screams "Aaaaahhhh!" And her mom comes rushing at her.
"Honey, what's the matter?"
"You smell like those old ladies down town." She says squinting her eyes.
"What old lady? Come on now, let's go in, you're drunk."
"That old lady, màmà."
Her mom helps her up and puts her arm over her neck, she takes the shot glasses from the table and the empty tequila bottle, she puts the bottle in her under arm as she walks her daughter out of the garden.
Once in the house, she sits her daughter on the sofa and walks to the kitchen to wash the shot glasses and dispose the empty bottle.
"Mom!" She yells.
"What's it?" Her mom answers in a distance.
"I need someone to sing me all the songs in my Spotify!"
"I'm busy."
"Mom!"
"¡Dejar de molestarme! ¡Estoy ocupado! ¡Eres tan cabeza hueca y lo sabes, pero sigues emborrachándote, haciéndome limpiar tu desorden cada vez! Trabaja y tráeme dinero, jovencita. (Stop disturbing me! I'm busy! You're such a light head and you know it but you keep getting drunk, making me clean up your mess each time! Work and bring me money, young lady)." Her mom yells.
"Te daré una sorpresa mamá. ¡Traeré diez! (I'll give you a shocker mama. I'll bring ten!)."
"When? Cuando estoy toda gris ¿eh? (When I'm all grey huh?) Go to sleep now."
