"I see that you're not using your advantage in range. Maybe because the more you use your Blood Singularity, the more oxygen you use up."
Yumeko said, smiling at Ayaka.
Meanwhile, Ayaka was waiting for Yumeko's attack. Though, it didn't seem like it was coming.
(She's stalling!)
Ayaka rushed toward her.
Yumeko held out her hand.
"Leave my foe in ice; Freeze."
From Yumeko's feet, ice formed, charging toward Ayaka. Even with her decreased mobility, she was able to dodge.
"Spark alongside my resolve; Lightning."
Another spell was shot at Ayaka. This time, she wasn't able to dodge it. The spell incapacitated Ayaka for a few seconds.
Yumeko would have usually killed her opponent by now, but she feels like the woman, who tried to 'seduce' her brother, needs a slow death.
"I forgot to tell you. I know three sub-elements. Lightning, Ice and Sound."
Ayaka flinched slightly. Her chances of winning had decreased.
Sub-elements were types of magic that were unique to the main 6. Sub-elements can either be learnt, created or inherited. Ice can be created by combining both Water and Wind. Sound and Lightning can either be learnt or inherited.
They're different from the main 6 (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light and Shadow) which are original elements that anyone can learn, though rarely anyone can learn Light or Shadow magic.
The nurse was finally able to move her body. Her body was finally starting to feel the fatigue of not being able to regain her breath.
At most, she had...
"At most, you have one or two minutes. I'd personally say the former to be safe."
Yumeko muttered, lowering her body.
"Give me the power to burn my foe; Arson!"
Her feet burned brightly as she finished her incantation. She sped toward Ayaka.
She did fast movements while swiping her legs at Ayaka. The woman did not do much to dodge the attacks. They did not have much intensity, but the weight of the attack didn't matter. The heat did.
Yumeko was trying to heat up abnormally to make her heart and blood pump faster, causing her to lose breath quicker.
As the girl did a roundhouse kick to Ayaka's head, she used her arm as a guard. A blood spike pierced through her leg.
"..."
She didn't cry out in pain but stared at Ayaka's strained face. Only a few seconds were left before she would die from suffocation.
"Check...mate..."
Her careworn voice spoke.
She used her other palm to create a large blood hand and slammed her head against the floor, causing Yumeko to lose consciousness.
"Huaaahhhh!"
She gasped for air.
After 3 minutes, she was able to breathe properly. Instead of rapidly regaining her breath, she slowly breathed in and out for faster recovery.
"So... the effects wear away... if the user is unconscious..."
She thought so when she caught Yumeko's leg, but it was merely a hunch.
"That... was somewhat exciting."
Ayaka said, swallowing her saliva. Her dry throat was something new for her.
"I should... probably train more in trying to hold my breath."
She noted.
--
"God damn! We're getting nowhere!"
Tatsuya shouted, clenching his fist as he watched his Dire Wolf, Satilla, struggle against Fray, who had extremely good luck.
Satilla was being affected by Fray's Wheel of Fortune. She had bad luck. She would often slip or miss her attacks.
The Dire Wolf growled as she was bleeding mana. Summoned animals, Familiars, cannot die. Even if their master dies, they are passed on to another, without retaining the memories of their last master.
Even if they cannot die, if they do take enough damage to 'die,' then they will not be able to be summoned for a certain number of days depending on the contract and how heavy the death is.
In this situation, at the very least, Satilla would be sealed away for 2 days. (Of course, sealed time could vary depending on the death.)
The boy bit his nail.
"Come on... Think... Think... What can I do?"
He uttered to himself.
Tatsuya had around a quarter, or so, of his mana left. Most of it had been drained when summoning Satilla. Little by little, his mana is being drained with Satilla out in the physical world. (Familiars stay in the physical world by draining their master's mana.)
He had to think of something.
(Fray is winning mostly because of his Wheel of Fortune. If I can take it away from him, then it would be easier to fight him. But, he has better physical attributes. I was only able to keep up with him because of my Buff spell.
There's no point in trying now since, firstly, I know that his wheel is in his pocket but I may not be able to get it. Secondly, he has good luck, if I were to go and attack him, he'd simply do something to do or something would happen to me because of his good luck.)
Tatsuya watched Satilla continue to struggle. The boy noticed something.
(That's it... I may be able to do something.)
He quickly chanted his Buff spell and skipped down the classroom steps. While Fray was blocking Satilla's attack, Tatsuya flew toward Fray, kicking him in the head.
The man was sent flying into the blackboard. Though the kick was hard, he easily recovered. Not without a swollen cheek and nosebleed.
"What?! How were you able to hit me?! The time shouldn't have ended yet!"
Fray exclaimed.
"You haven't experimented with your Wheel of Fortune, have you?"
The boy asked.
Fray was taken aback.
"Well, no..."
"That makes sense. That also means that you've always fought someone one-on-one."
Fray glared at Tatsuya.
"When you fought me, the reason your bad luck was working was that I had good luck. Now, you have good luck and Satilla has bad luck. However, where does that leave me?"
"You're an irregularity."
The red-haired man whispered.
Tatsuya snapped his fingers.
"Correct! I'm simply a phantom in the equation. I don't fit in, meaning that I ignore the rules of your Wheel of Fortune."
"You... You're both annoying and interesting!"
Fray smiled.
"Thanks, I get that a lot."
