Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: The Aftermath

Head Melissa continued tossing and playing with the spear as if it's nothing but a mere toy. She continued giving her a friendly smile and said.

"Just chill, okay? It's not the end of the world yet, so please refrain yourself. He is just a human after all. And if you do him any harm…"

Hazel stood on the opposite side of the Head feeling threatened just by sight of her smile. She tried to face her but before she could even do so, the next thing she knew, the spear almost hit her as it landed on the wall behind her causing it to emit a crack sound. It made her freeze out of fright along with everyone around them, except Ashley and Hans.

Head Melissa then went near her and whispered to her ear, "Things will definitely not be good for us and especially for you, my dear."

She slightly chuckled and before Hazel could clearly see her face what greeted her was an intent glare from the Head then Head Melissa soon smiled again then patted the Female Blood's head as if she did nothing wrong to her at all. The pressure made Hazel unable to speak whereas she held her arm when she noticed her body trembling.

"Head Melissa, I truly appreciate your help. But it was not necessary for you to save me." Hans said to break the tension.

"Oh! I did not do that to save you. I only did that to avoid experiencing your master's wrath." She defended.

"Still… And also, I deeply apologize for the things I said, Hazel. I just wanted you to get rid of those unnecessary feelings and focus on the test." He bowed to Hazel to show his sincerity.

"You… baited me?" Hazel puzzled in confusion.

"Yes." He affirmed her.

Hazel felt guilt submerging her conscience from what she did to Hans since she intended to kill him out of anger. However, what made her feel more felonious was the fact she let her jealousy towards Emma overwhelmed her and made Hans go through the hassle just to make her realize that Emma has nothing to do with her incapability.

Head Asher immediately rushed towards her whereas Head Benjamin already held his pair in his arms. Hazel's pair comforted her in spite of knowing her faults but the Head completely understood her and just hugged her tightly. Head Asher apologized to Hans, however, Hans shook his head to affirm to the Head that it was alright. Head Kelly began distributing some healing potions to ease the pains and wounds of the Female Bloods.

Ashley then caught everyone's attention when she clasped her hands, "Well then! Shall I announce your ability?"

Hazel nodded in response.

"Hmm… But just to let you know, I can't forgive you for what you did to Hans." She declared.

"Ashley!" Head Asher called her name out of anger.

"What? Can't I say what's on my mind?" she questioned innocently.

"There is a limit to what you could or couldn't say." The Head reminded her.

"And that didn't include what I just said." Ashley rebated back.

"Ashley!" the Head called her name as a sign of warning.

"What?" she asked again.

"Ashley, that's enough. Just tell them what her ability is." Hans ended the argument before it got out of hand.

"Okay~ Anyways, your ability is called Gravity. It's like telekinesis. Be that as it may, the difference is that telekinesis users cannot control gravity which is opposite to what you can do. Thus, you can most likely remove or put too much gravity on your target. You can even fly if you want." Ashley explained without letting anyone intervene.

"So, any questions?" she asked.

"No. Thank you." Hazel expressed her gratitude however Ashley ignored her.

"Good. And just like that, both you and Emma will receive your real training routine two weeks from now—after you fully recover—under the supervision of your masters. So, work hard to become a special agent." Hans announced instead.

"Are we now an apprentice?" Emma asked.

"Yes, but not so. You will receive an indirect training routine that is suited for agents. And by any chance you caught the attention of your masters. Then you will be recommended to take a test to become a special agent. If you pass then that will be the time you receive direct training from your master." Hans explained thoroughly.

"While us… Whose special agents are directly trained with a VERY HARD training routine by our masters." Ashley second in motion while she pointed at Hans, Sherly, and herself.

Her last remarks ended the deadly trial and they all went out of the training ground, except Hans. Hazel was deep in her thoughts that she stopped from her track and informed her pair that she had some things to do. She hurriedly went back to the training ground when Head Asher smiled and gave her his permission.

As soon as she arrived, she saw Hans whipping his weapon in the air and slashing through the improvised digital-like opponents. Seeing his moves made Hazel uttered in awe as she slowly and carefully went down not to disturbed him. However, Hans was quick to notice her presence.

"You know, you're easy to spot on even if you try so hard to go unnoticed." Hans said.

"A-Ah! Uhm… I-I was just..." Hazel stuttered.

"What are you doing here?" Hans asked.

"I-" She initiated.

"I?" Hans continued with a question mark.

"I'm so sorry~! I didn't know that what you did a while ago was for my sake."

She apologized to him as she knelt on the ground and crouched down (Dogeza) showing her deepest regret. Hans disregarded her apology and Hazel reasoned out.

"But I took your trial for granted. I let my pride and anger overwhelm me. I feel ashamed of myself."

"Most hunters here do that, it's nothing new so it's alright. Also, it would be a lie if I said I wasn't mad. Just train hard, I'll be there to support you." He clarified things between them.

"Okay~" Hazel smiled knowing that Hans will be there if she ever needed help.

Uhmm… May I invite you to dinner tonight? As a peace offering. I won't take "No" for an answer, though." She added.

"Suit yourself." Hans gave in to her offer that made Hazel smile with glee.

"Great! See you tonight then. Bye~" Hazel waved at him as she ran out of the training ground.

Hazel returned to where her pair was waiting. He was about to train again but got interrupted when someone approached him out of the blue.

"Since when did my apprentice's heart become soft?" Dir. Melvis asked.

He faced and asked back to his master who gracefully walked down the stairs, "When did you get here, Master?"

"Since the beginning of the training. You know I'm always watching you. So?" he asked again.

"I never had one." He replied.

He chuckled and responded, "If you say so."

"Aren't you going back to work, Master?" Hans asked.

"Are you trying to get rid of me, my precious apprentice?" Dir. Melvis asked back.

Hans shook his head that made the director chuckle, he then added, "Just kidding! Mind if I help?"

Hans didn't reply, instead he tossed him a weapon and positioned himself in defense. They began sparring and it went on that made time pass by in a spree. After that, as promised, Hans ate his dinner with Hazel and company. The meal was lively and fun while Hans listened and slightly smiled at their conversation that went by in a brisk.

Subsequently, he immediately went back to his work place. As he was about to arrive at his office, he saw Ashley waiting for him outside his workroom. When Ashley noticed his presence, she smiled and waved a black folder at him so Hans invited her in and she followed happily.

"What is that?" Hans directly asked her.

"The thing you've been asking for. What do you need from that Supreme Alpha for you to go all the way to investigate his background, anyway?" She replied and asked.

"Thanks. I want to know what his ability is. And also, makeup with Hazel already." He replied bluntly as he took the black folder containing someone's information.

"Hazel? Nuh-uh." Ashley asked.

"Ashley… Please?" Hans pleaded.

"Urgh… Fine! I'll think about it. Just think about it, okay?" Ashley said.

"Thanks." Hans gratefully replied.

"Yesterday… Did you go out to meet her?" she asked to change the topic.

"I just hope it won't happen again. She's free now." He said merely to himself.

"You know that won't do. That student of yours treasures you so much." Ashley reminded him.

"Also, the other heads or hunters may not be aware of the thing you've been hiding. But me, your student, Young Master, and Dir. Melvis does." She pointed out.

"And so is Liam Cohen, the Supreme Alpha." Hans added.

"What?" Ashley was dumbfounded when she heard the alpha's name.

"Since his ability is Naked-Eye. It's no surprise he found out about it." He pointed out.

"Will you be alright?" Ashley asked with concern in her eyes.

"He probably won't say anything for now. But one thing is for sure… he'll definitely use it against me." He said calmly.

Ashley couldn't utter a word now that the Supreme Alpha—of all the villains she considers—found out Hans's private affairs. Hans tried to remain calm in spite of being on the edge of the situation and the possibility of him being exposed to the clan. Moments of silence had passed, he stared at the file Ashley gave her then an idea suddenly came out of his mind.

"That's it!" he slightly exclaimed.

"W-what's it?" Ashley jolted and stuttered.

Hans stared at her with a gleaming expression then he shared with her the idea that just came to his mind while Ashley listened to her attentively. And so, days have gone by… The day where the Lycans pay their roguish and unwelcomed visits.
