Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 A Deal With The Coffee Shop Owner

She sneered at this and raised her chin proudly, "Of course, her friends told me that they obtained the Power Stone from the dungeon, and she stole it right at that time. She also used some tricks to expel them from school to hide the truth."

Yuxi became confused after hearing her statement. 'Didn't auntie dealt with those three people, where can they have any chance to contact Liya?'

Putting the question to the back of her mind for now, she focused on the matter at hand.

Her face turned cold after getting pointed at again and again, "Are you saying you have no evidence of your claim except for these stories? If so, then I hate to break it to you, but I am going to report you to the principal with the teacher as the witness. Be prepared to receive your Punishment."

She chewed the word punishment at the end in particular and watched as Liya's face became distorted from anger.

She postponed her plan to go to the training room and went to the principal's office accompanied by the teacher.

The principal was an old man with white hair and silver rimmed glasses on his nose. He sat on his seat behind the table and listened attentively to Yuxi's complaint.

Well aware of who she was and how important she was to that person, he didn't dare to neglect her in the slightest.

After knowing the situation, he breathed a sigh of relief, it wasn't a serious problem and could be solved with ease. He adjusted his glasses and glanced at Liya who had been brought along with them by the teacher. "Don't worry, student Yuxi. Since student Liya doesn't have any evidence to her claim, it will be taken as her attempt to defame you, and she will be given proper punishment for it."

She nodded with a smile on her face, already knowing the outcome of this matter, she wasn't surprised in the least. She said goodbye to the Principal and return to the training building to complete her daily training in the simulation room.

After returning home from school, she changed into some simple and low-key clothes. She was planning to go out to make arrangements to deal with the carcasses in her space pocket to make space for more. And her target was the coffee shop she visited in the outer circle of the city before.

After getting ready, the driver drove her to her designated place, right in front of the coffee shop.

She looked at the masked woman sitting in the passenger seat and addressed her. "I will go in alone, please stay here."

The woman nodded in response and sat quietly in the seat.

This woman was one of the two bodyguards her aunt left for her. She allowed her to accompany her today. Mainly because no matter how much law and order prevailed everywhere in the city, this was still a world where the top rule was the rule of the jungle. If you are not careful enough, you will be eaten without any bones left. So, caution was necessary.

She put on the hoodie before getting out of the car and entered the small coffee shop with steady footsteps. Ignoring the customers sitting inside, she went to the counter and sat down on a high stool while leaning her elbow on the counter top.

"What is your order?" The man behind the counter seemed busy and asked in a normal tone, without looking at her.

She smiled and sported her chin with her palm. "Hi"

Without getting an answer to his question, he looked up and when he recognized her, his eyes went wide.

"Ah, hi. How…how can I help you?" He stuttered.

"First, a cup of black tea." She answered amused.

"Yes" He immediately called a waitress and asked her to bring her a black tea.

The man was standing upright with his hands rubbing together, showing his nervousness.

"Don't be nervous, I just want to ask you about something, that's all." She consoled him.

He nodded with a polite smile. "What do you want to ask me, Miss?"

"Do you know of any trustworthy butcher around here who might be interested in buying a lot of E ranked monster meat? He will have to process the carcasses first, of course." She asked.

"A trustworthy butcher?" The man was surprised and then thought of someone who met the criteria. "Well, I know quite a few. Do I need to introduce them to you?"

"No, I want you to be my middle man. I will provide you with the monster carcasses, and you will deliver them to the butchers. After the processing, give me all the precious body parts like fangs, claws, horns, etc., and all the meat can be sold to the butcher at a low price. Of course, you will be paid for your work generously. Are you interested in this job?" She explained her purpose of coming here.

"This…" The man hesitated. "May I ask why a young lady like you doing something like selling low ranked monster meat?"

She smiled charmingly at the pretty waitress who put her cup of black tea in front of her and waited for her to leave. "Of course." She took a sip of her drink and put down the cup. "I will become an adult in a year, and I am exercising my independence beforehand. But that doesn't mean I have to do everything, like dealing with butchers myself. So I am asking you whether you are interested in this side job?"

He wiped the sweat on his forehead and nodded seriously. "It makes sense. Please give me some time to think about it, Miss."

"Yes, but you have only one day to decide. Because if longer, the carcasses will go bad. And there is no pressure on you to accept this job. If you don't want to, then ask someone who is willing." She assured him that there was no harm in refusing.

The man was visibly relieved and finally gave a relaxed smile. "Alright, I will give you my answer tomorrow."

She nodded and took out her cellphone. "Exchange contact numbers for convenience."

After exchanging numbers, she stood up and paid for the drink. Before leaving, she asked without any embarrassment, "What is your name, by the way?"

She was not embarrassed, but the man seemed embarrassed by her question. They had talked so much without knowing each other's names.

"I am Du Xian."

She nodded. "Shen Yuxi."

After exiting the coffee shop, she asked the driver to take her to a shopping mall in the city center. She wanted to buy some necessities that she had run out of.

After shopping in the grand mall for a while, she bought everything she needed. She sat in the back seat of the car and waited for the driver and the bodyguard to put everything in the trunk.

Just when the car was about to drive away, she saw some familiar figures not far away.

"Uncle, don't drive yet, wait for a while." She ordered the driver.

"Yes." The driver was surprised at her order but didn't question her and obeyed.

She lowered the glass window and looked at the boys bullying another pretty boy. They were the same student bullies she saw in the school before, and the victim was also the same boy. But this time they were not just verbally attacking him but beating him with kicks and punches.

The boy was lying on the ground in a fetus position with his arms around his head in a protective gesture. No matter how hard he was beaten, he didn't make a noise and endured in silence.

His endurance aroused the boys' anger, and they beat him harder, but still got no response. They soon got bored from scolding and beating and left the place while taunting and mocking the boy.

She opened the car door and got out. She walked slowly towards the boy on the ground and squatted near him.

"Hey, why don't you fight back?" She asked with curiosity.

The boy removed his arms from his head and showed his bruised face. He looked at her in embarrassment, without answering her question.

"I will heal you if you tell me." She tempted him.

Hesitation appeared on his bruised face, and he finally spoke. "Are you a healer?"

"Kind of." She replied.

The boy was silent for a while, thinking whether to believe her or not. But he eventually decided to satisfy her curiosity because even if she was lying, there was no harm in answering her question.

"My family warned me not to cause trouble outside, and those bullies' families are more influential than mine. If I fight back, and they cause trouble for my family, my family will reduce my training resources as punishment." He explained.

She laughed slightly. "How foolish, can a family be prosperous without capable descendants?
