Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 Attending School as Gu Yuxi

If you don't have the strength to take revenge on your enemies, tell your elders, and they will do it for you. Only stupid people will endure and wait until they get stronger to take revenge.

She didn't mind punishing those traitors herself, but then again she would have to wait until she gets stronger to implement it, and this was not her personal revenge but Gu Yuxi's. She had lost her life in their hands, and it was just right to let her mother figure avenge her.

She was vague in her words and didn't say clearly how she wanted them punished but knowing her aunt's personality, she will definitely kill them.

This was just fair, a life for a life.

Her aunt took out her arm from her hold and took her in a side hug. "Of course sweetheart, don't worry you won't see them again in the future. I will make them pay for what they did to you."

'A thousand folds more.' She added in her heart.

She rubbed her head on her shoulder coquettishly. "Auntie, do you think I have gone bad?" She asked cautiously.

Gu Zhanci tugged her hair behind her ear. "Of course not, darling, I think you are still very kind." Kind enough to not wish to kill those who harmed you.

The older woman thought, unaware of the fact that the current Yuxi did want to kill those traitors.

"Who was the person who saved you?" She asked, intending to find the person to reward her for saving her niece.

"I don't know, she was wearing a silver mask made of some metal and didn't show her face to me." She told a white lie without changing colors.

"It's okay, I will look for this person later to thank her properly." She didn't dwell into this topic further. "You said you absorbed a Power Stone, did you realize your ability yet?" Gu Zhanci asked, curious about her niece's ability.

"This…" She scratched her cheek in embarrassment. "I was so busy running for my life that I didn't have the chance to pay attention to it."

Gu Zhanci rubbed her head dotingly. "It's okay, you can figure it out slowly. But it doesn't matter whether you acquire a strong ability or a weaker one. Your aunt will love you the same."

She threw herself in her aunt's arms fully. "Auntie, you are the best."

"You know how to flatter me." Gu Zhanci patted her back gently.

"I have been absent from the capital for over a week now, it's time for me to go back. I will leave some people here to protect you to avoid any similar accidents happening in the future."

"So soon?" She asked with reluctance.

Gu Zhanci bobbed her nose. "Is it so soon? You have been sleeping for two days and I have been guarding you by your side, my little sleeping beauty."

She blushed and hid in her embrace shyly, making her aunt laugh.

After bidding farewell, she watched her aunt leave the mansion with her subordinates. She went back to her room and locked the door from inside.

She sat on her bed and took out all the mana cores she got from the dungeon and started absorbing them one by one.

She absorbed the D rank mana core in the end. It was a bit bigger and gave her a lot more mana, equivalent to ten E rank mana cores.

Her MP was now comparable to at least a high C Ranker after absorbing the purified mana cores from an entire dungeon.

Her SP was close to five digits, and she had 1 AP from task rewards. She put one attribute point to her LUCK stat to improve her luck. Her Map now also covered a lot more range than before. Apparently, as her MP improves, her Map range will also broaden.

She opened the SHOP icon and searched for potion recipes. She found many along with the Healing Potion; Mana Recovery Potions, Mana Buff Potions, Speed Buff Potions, Strength Buff Potions, Invisibility Potions and many more.

She looked at the price of the recipe of a low-level Healing Potion which was 10k, she was a little away from 10k SP. If she wanted to buy the recipe, she might have to conquer a few more E rank dungeons to earn more SP.

Because more than half of her SP came from the task rewards, and the system told her that the task of conquering a dungeon will not be issued again as long as she doesn't enter a higher ranked dungeon than E rank.

But not before she learns to use her ability in combat, she couldn't just use a crossbow in dungeons all the time, could she? Furthermore, her crossbow was useless against a D rank monster in a frontal combat.

She fell back on the bed and spread her arms outward. The feeling of being in a safe place was good.

The next day, she was woken up by the Head maid, Axane.

"Miss…" She heard the voice with a groggy head.

"Miss, wake up, you need to prepare for the school." The maid nudged her gently.

She sat up with her eyes half closed. "Eh? What school?" She asked sleepily.

"Miss, it's your school. Have you forgotten about going to school?" She asked while nudging her again with a smile.

A bulb went off in her mind, she remembered that Gu Yuxi was a school student. She was now Gu Yuxi and she also had to go to school in her place.

She rubbed her messy hair in frustration and completely woke up from her sleep. After washing up and having breakfast at the dinning table, her driver took her to school.

The car slowed down when it reached the school gate. She alighted the car and picked up her school bag before walking toward the school gate.

Above the gate, the name of the school was written in large golden fonts. "No.1 Beginner Ranker's School".

There were two types of schools in this world. One for ordinary people and the other for possible future Rankers.

Normally, Ranker's school had a high ratio of wealthy and noble children compared to the ordinary children. Because only wealthy families could afford Power Stones, and most ordinary and poor children were sponsored by wealthy families to become future helpers for their children.

Some were absorbed by other factions and there were very few children who entered a school meant for Rankers, independently. Either they got a Power Stone in a dungeon by luck, or they stole it.

There were two groups of students in the school; the first were students who had already absorbed a Power Stone called Rankers, and the second group consisted of ordinary students.

Most wealthy families will wait for their children to become adults before allowing them to absorb a Power Stone, but not everyone followed this routine.

Gu Yuxi belonged to the second group but not anymore.

She slowly entered the school gate and went to her classroom according to her memory.

The school's structure was magnificent, consisting of multiple buildings with some distance in between.

There was a teaching building, students' dormitory, staff building, auditorium, cafeteria, training building, laboratory building and the playground.

After arriving in her class, she took a back seat by the window to avoid harassment from the teachers, which could be very annoying sometimes.

She knew her aunt should have spoken with the Principal about her absence last week, and she wouldn't need to worry about explaining it to any of the teachers. She just needed to listen to the classes and go home afterward and think of how to utilize her ability in actual combat.

She arranged her desk and saw a book title that piqued her interest, Magic Chemistry.

She pulled it out from among the other books and started reading the content. Surprisingly, there were some chapters, related to potion making.

There were some potions on the market, including Mana Potions made from using the Mana Crystals as the main ingredient. But they were all low-level potions and recipes were kept secret to monopolize the market.

The chapters contained important herbs, minerals and other ingredients that were proven useful in one way or another, over the research of nearly an entire century.

Mana Crystals and Mana Cores sounded similar, but there was a difference. Mana Cores contained polluted mana; whereas Mana Crystals were pure natural minerals and the mana inside were devoid of any pollution.

They could be rarely found in dungeon caverns with a large mana density and were in high demand.
