Dallas was, quite frankly, at a loss.
He typically didn’t have to deal with people having emotional breakdowns in front of him, much less people that he was supposed to hate on principle. Seeing Bree crying on the floor of his office, however, sent something stabbing through his heart.
He had seen her cry before, but that had always been because he himself had done something. In this case, Bree was suffering because of someone else, and it was sending Dallas’ inner wolf into a frenzy with the need to protect his mate. Worse still, he had no idea who would be to blame for this particular misfortune, which was even more frustrating.
Truth be told, he had been trying to figure out this particular mystery for a while, and with the arrival of Bree’s grandmother’s letter, the final pieces had fallen into place.
