Morpheus was baffled as to why the Shadow Pack found Adrian so intriguing. Alpha John disappointed him by telling him that he couldn't pay that much for someone who would only be a servant. In fact, he was giving his Alpha right. First and foremost, he was unfamiliar with Adrian. Second, that was a seriously excessive price for a servant. He didn't even know Adrian himself. Adrian was the nephew of Connor, his best friend, and that was all he knew about him. When Connor contacted and requested assistance, he was pleased, thinking he would be able to repay him for his earlier assistance. Years ago, Connor had saved his sister from an utter death. He owed Connor a living. However, things became so out of hand that he was unable to maintain his pledge and buy Adrian. Why the hell did the Shadow Pack afford to pay such a large amount for a servant?
What was it about this youngster that made him so special? I was really ashamed in front of Connor. When the price went up, however, there was no way to persuade Alpha John. 'No, I can't pay so much for a servant,' Alpha John said, putting the matter to rest once and for all, despite my protests. I noticed Aiden's despair in his eyes when I caught his gaze on the screen. He directly looked into my eyes, however, there was no way out to buy him.
While I was considering how to gaze at Connor's face, my thoughts were interrupted by the question of Alpha John.
'Morpheus, why is this boy so special for Shadow Pack, do you have any idea?' asked Alpha John.
'He is the nephew of Beta Connor of the Blue Moon Pack.'
'However, was not this pack has merged with the Darkness Moon Pack following Alpha Dirk's death due to Alpha James' duel with Alpha Dirk.' asked Alpha John.
'Yes, Alpha James dared Alpha Dirk to a duel. Dirk died at the conclusion of the duel, and his wife couldn't bear it she had died as well. Alpha James announced that their son was also dead. There was nobody to lead the pack. At the same time, the pack lost its Alpha, Luna, and heir. Alpha James forced the pack members to either join or leave his pack. The majority of them have decided to join. Beta Connor as well. However, he is dissatisfied with the current situation because their entire pack is treated as omegas.' I told him about the story I heard from Connor.
'Connor was my best friend; we spent our teenage years together before our pack duties forced us to spend less time together. He saved my sister's life, so I owe him. I didn't hesitate when he asked for a favor. I have no idea why this pack is so obsessed with this young man.'
Then you have to find out what happened. Go and search this. But be careful so no one knows what you're after. Don't get me in trouble!' said Alpha John.
If we could at least figure out what happened, we could decided how to proceed to save Adrian. I have overjoyed when Alpha recognized my desire to assist Connor and encouraged me. I then asked Alpha for permission to leave.
I was aware that Connor would be unable to attend to the bid because he had been accepted as an omega. He did, however, have a cell phone through which I could contact him. I have called him to get more information.
'Is what I've heard true, Morpheus, or just rumor? I'm hoping these are just rumors. Was my nephew sold to the Shadow Pack?'
'I am so sorry Connor, however, I was not to be able to do anything. The bid was so high that I couldn't convince my Alpha to pay that much for a servant. I deeply regret this. However, he ordered me to find out what was going on there. Why did Shadow Pack interest that much with your nephew? Any idea?'
I understood that he wanted to say something to me but could not. But I couldn't be too insistent.
'He is just a poor orphan and my nephew. I will also search why did they interest so much in him.'
This was the end of our conversation.
