Chapter 21 - Chapter 20 Adrian’s POV

Then my name was announced. Jake pushed me to the stage. I tried to walk properly to the stage. In front of the screen, I waited patiently. They instructed me to remain still. I tried to keep up with what was going on. The Moon Valley Pack and the Shadow Pack made me an offer. I could sense the Alpha of the Shadow Pack had an extremely dark aura in front of the screen. He leaned in close to his Beta and muttered something to him by pointing to me. The Beta then walked away from the screen.

Something wasn't quite right. But I couldn't figure out what it was. Why did he go out of the screen, where did he go? Suddenly he appeared on the screen again and told something to his Alpha by closing his mouth. While he was speaking, The Alpha nodded his head. After their discussion, something changed.

As a result, my price started to rise. I observed Morpheus' face, his head trembling from side to side as though he were refusing to accept his Alpha. When I saw his defeat in his eyes, I fully realized what was going to happen to me. In the end, Moon Valley Pack had to withdraw, Shadow pack was the winner.

I'm disappointed. The sad expression in Beta Morpheus' eyes told me everything. The Moon Valley Pack couldn't get me. I was sold to another goddamn Pack. I was so sure that Beta Morpheus would buy me, however, that such a possibility had never crossed my mind.

The guards began to pull the chains around my wrists to get me off the stage. I felt that everything was surreal.

How could this happen? Morpheus should have bought me. Where did this Shadow Pack show up?'

They had warned me to stay still, I didn't think much and tried to run away. I had to get out of here urgently, escape.

'Damn it, damn it. How..." One of the guards punched me in the stomach and cut my voice.

Everything was moving slowly as if I were dreaming and not present. I tried to concentrate. Because of the silver in my veins and the punch in my stomach, it was extremely difficult. Somehow, I was able to regain my equilibrium. I also tried to keep up with the guards' speed. They flung me to the ground, where the remainder of the group was waiting. I collapsed to the ground. When I knew the tears in my eyes were going to spill down my cheeks, I fought to hold them back as best I could. I shouldn't have sobbed in the first place.

Many of us were sold in various packages. It wasn't our fault. It was the fault of the people who put us up for sale here. We were sold like a commodity. Yet we were orphans.

Only Aurora and I had been sold to the Shadow Pack, the same pack. I used to go to classes when my parents were still alive. History was my favorite lecture. I was very familiar with the packs. There were several packs, each with its own management. Some of them are good, while others are not. Unfortunately, the Shadow pack was not well-managed. The alpha of this pack was known for his ruthlessness and intolerance towards other pack members. He ruled his pack by force and coercion.

I cursed my fate once more. Why does Moon Goddess try to always push me to go through the hardest way?

I was still full of silver in my veins and therefore could not think properly. Demus was also unable to come to the surface because of the silver. They chained me next to Aurora. Aurora's gorgeous eyes were filled with fear, and it was impossible not to notice it. I tried to reassure her that everything would be fine, but I couldn't even speak. Silver had engulfed my entire body, causing me to thrash in agony. My senses were completely numb. All I could think about was how much pain I was in.

The bidding was going on. They made us wait there until the end. I tried to focus on something, but that was not possible. I was so exhausted. All of this has pushed me to my limit: Jack's abuse, this bid, being sold to the Shadow pack.
