Third Individual's POV
Tyler was left alone in the room, as if he had been abandoned. He grabbed a beer bottle on the table and poured some in an empty clear glass. He drank the beer in one go and frowned from the bittersweet aftertaste.
He looked at his phone, and grabbed it. He went through his contacts and scrolled till he found the name of Seo Hyun. "It's currently 10:48 in the evening... Like what Karen said, you won't be mad, right?" He asked himself as he sighed.
"You've been my friend for years. You must have been so devastated when I didn't greet you. I'm sorry... "He mumbled, as he lowered his head and sulked. With a faint smile of hope, he dialed Seo Hyun's number, hoping for him to accept it.
However, he didn't. Tyler was a bit confused, and scared. Scared that he really made Seo ya angry. But on the other hand, the reason why Seo ya didn't accept the call was because she was scared that her identity was exposed.
He dialed once more, this time yearning for her acceptance. With a deep breath, Seo ya gathered up all her courage and accepted the call. After all, she never knew. Tyler might just actually greet her and that's all.
"Hello?" She said In a soft, delicate voice. "Hey," Tyler reached out. His voice seems a bit drunk, as if he just got himself a beer. "Hello there, sir. Is there any reason why you called me?" Seo ya asked, as sweat started to be visible on her forehead.
"Well that's.." He hesitated. The words he wanted to say didn't come up, because he didn't have any courage to do so. Seo ya on the other hand, is trembling in fear. Instead of words, Tyler sighed in agony, unable to say something as if there's something binding him from doing so.
Tyler remembered the words of the woman before which is actually Seo ya and said, "Hey... It's been a while since we've been friends. Lots of things happened for a while now. Isn't it?"
"Uhm y-yes..." Seo ya replied. "Well, that's true. As if just yesterday we were a bunch of kids playing around haha," Tyler stopped laughing and said, "You have been a loyal friend to me. And I'm really glad about that. All this time, people were surrounding me for benefits and yet you were different," As Tyler said those words, his eyes started to welled up in tears.
"Instead you... You embraced us as a friend. You didn't take advantage of me and yet just stayed by my side as my ally. You have no idea how much your presence is valuable to my life, Seo Hyun!" He yelled as he continued to cry. Seo ya seems a bit relieved that it wasn't about her identity being exposed.
However, as she heard his words, she felt sad. Seo Hyun should be the one to hear those words. Yet instead, Seo Hyun is peacefully grasping for his life at the hospital and Seo ya was the one to hear those words.
"I'm sorry Seo Hyun... I really am... Which is why tonight as there is still time left, I'd like to say, happy birthday buddy. I'm sorry if I greeted you late, I just wanted to find the right time, but couldn't," he mumbled. Tyler started to hiccup from all the crying.
And on the other hand, Seo ya stops herself from letting out a noise so that Tyler wouldn't hear her cry. She knows she doesn't have the right to be happy for his words for the sake of her brother but she couldn't help but to be happy.
'I thought he's a jerk. But he's not. Perhaps when it comes to business he's a jerk but when it comes to friendship, he's the most reliable friend there is,' Seo ya thought.
"Hey, why aren't you saying a thing? Don't make it awkward, hmm?" He asked. Seo ya chuckled despite crying and said, "You really made me worry. I thought that you completely forgot my birthday. " Tyler let out a faint laugh.
"Sorry for that," he said with a smile. "I'm glad you greeted me. Thank you so much. Such a greeting made me happy," upon hearing those words, Tyler couldn't help to smile so brightly and laugh. As if he accomplished something great that contributed to the whole world.
"It's getting late. You're probably asleep earlier haha. Sorry for the sudden call. Have sweet dreams, friend," Tyler said, hanging up the call as soon as Seo ya replied, "You too."
Seo ya wiped her tears and went outside the comfort room. The loud music was once heard. The disco lights started to make her eyes dizzy so she went outside. When she finally exited her way, she gazed up at the peaceful night sky and breathed the fresh air.
All of a sudden, she heard footsteps coming from behind her. She turned around, only to see Tyler drunk while moving slowly as he lost balance for a bit. When Tyler saw her, he immediately locked his eyes on her. Seo ya was confused as to why Tyler came out, since she thought that he would stay any longer.
"Seo Hyun?" He asked. As if it's an instinct, Seo ya immediately said, "Yes?" It was then she realized that she's actually in a disguise and covered her mouth realizing her words. Tyler went closer to her at a slow pace.
She tried to move backwards, but Tyler held her waist so firmly as if he didn't want to let go. Seo ya started to resist but it was of no use. With a smile, Tyler went closer to Seo ya as their lips collided. It was a small kiss, just a soft touch of the lips. Their forehead were touching and their breaths mingled into the chilly air.
He could feel his heartbeat quicken as he stared in the other's eyes. Seo ya seems taken aback by his sudden action, as her face seems to be covered by a red blush. She was completely speechless and the only thing she could do was to kick Tyler's balls and leave with a ninja run.
