I laid awake that night, unable to sleep with Sarrah’s words echoing through my head. Alex had not mentioned that Alphas were not allowed to have a mate that was not a werewolf, perhaps because he was afraid that I might become offended.
The truth was I was offended because he hadn’t told me this himself before. If he had been planning on telling me, would it have been when we had already been dating for a few years or when he was about to become the Alpha of his pack?
There was a knock on my window and almost yelled in surprise when I saw that it was Alex standing outside on my balcony.
I got up to open the door for him. He was about to kiss me when he noticed my facial expression.
“Did something happen?” he asked, caressing my face.
I sat down on the bed and he sat down next to me.
