Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

Danica's POV

I returned to the table to see Derick had gone and the two boys were giggling with Mathew. I rolled my eyes as I had learnt that this was never a good sign.

"What's up?" Jenny shook her head.

"Nothing. Derick has gone to take Luna Alice home and these three are being idiots." Mathew wiggled his eyebrows with a smirk.

"They were also trying to set you up again." I rolled my eyes with a chuckle then smiled as Dean came over. He was looking annoyed and glared at Mathew. I watched as Mathew looked sheepish and tried to hide behind Jenny.

"What happened?" Dean wrapped his arm around my hip.

"Nothing. Jeff just decided to give me a long... long lecture and dragged me off to practice my fighting style." Mathew shrugged as Dean began too mutter. "Nearly missed the lamb too, not forgetting my time with Danica…" I shook my head and wandered into the house again and brought out the trays of pastries Derick had brought.

The rest of the party went well, and I spoke to many of Jenny's close friends in the pack and closely followed by my new little shadows. At one point in the evening Jenny's brothers even turned up for a quick bite to eat and we reminisced about old times. However, it was getting late. Jenny and I had put the boys to bed in one of the spare rooms and they were asleep within seconds. They didn't even seem to mind sharing a single bed, tops and tails.

I looked around as the cabin began to fall quiet and noticed the house was nearly empty. Most of the rubbish had already been cleared up and the leftovers were covered and sitting on the table.

With the majority of the cleanup already done I looked to the hot tub and smiled as I stuffed my face with another pastry filled with cream.

With a nod to Jenny, I grabbed a bag of ice and the slab of beer from the fridge and filled the two drinks holders in the hot tub with ice and beer cans. Jenny ran after me pulling her shoes off and placing a few cola cans into the drinks holders with a smile.

"Didn't know you liked hot tubs so much." I shrugged and pulled my clothes off and got into the tub in my underwear making sure my scar was hidden by the water.

"YOLO and all that jazz." She tossed her dress aside and slipped in next to me pulling her hair up and tying it in place. I did the same then looked around as Jeff and Mathew dragged Derick over. Chad smirked as he stepped out onto the deck.

"Room for another in there?" Jenny nodded and waved him over.

"Sure, if you bring some of those potato chips with you." He nodded and slipped back inside for a moment then emerged with two large bowls.

Mathew and Jeff had already stripped down to their boxers and were in the tub. Dean ran over with a growl and placed a small table next to the tub so Chad could place the chips down. He then sat perched on the side of the tub behind me his legs on either side of me.

"Come on Alpha." Mathew snuggled next to Jenny. "No one here will bight you." Derick nodded and placed his beer in the ice as he pulled his shirt off. He was by far the most muscular and toned male I had seen and had gorgeous tattoos over his left pectoral that covered his shoulder and down his arm into a three-quarter length sleeve.

As he jumped over the edge of the tub my eyes went to a tattoo on his leg and my mind went crazy then blank. The new tattoo was a replica of the Banshee posters the fight club had released, done in a Japanese style. He caught me looking at his ink and smirked awkwardly as he slipped into the water.

"The boys picked that one out…" He seemed embarrassed but Mathew gave the thumbs up.

"Who here doesn't like the Banshee! And it's a very well-done tat." I felt Dean lean his hands on my shoulders as his legs squeezed my sides.

Derick settled into the water and grabbed his beer then looked to Dean. He frowned slightly and wave his hand.

"Are you not coming in?" Dean shook his head.

"Can't…" he pointed to his burnt shoulder. "Everything else is practically healed up but this dam silver burn is still healing." Derick nodded as Shawn and Chad slipped into the tub.

"Hey burn boy. There's a shallow spot here." Chad sat next to me at a spot where the water came to his waist and frowned. "Think this is the kiddies section." Dean grinned and slipped next to me as he shoved Chad over.

"Then move you ass." Chad slipped into deeper water and grinned.

"Oh? not wanting to leave her side now that you've…" Jenny cleared her throat and Mathew nodded.

"Talking about the Banshee…" He giggled and changed the subject. Jeff grinned.

"Did the boys tell you about the potential fight coming up?" Jenny rolled her eyes.

"Men…" She took a sip from her cola and Derick nodded.

"Yeah, they really want to go but…" He rubbed a hand to his neck. "Well, we don't know when it is or if there'll be tickets once the news hits." Jeff looked to me.

"Can Rodger do anything about that?" Derick frowned and looked at me.

"Rodger Vanson?" I nodded.

"Yes, I work for him from time to time." I looked to Chad and Jeff as they both seemed to plead with me to ask. "I'm not going to ask him about tickets." I saw the disappointed look on their faces. "Because I already did. The fight is Friday and he's going to let you use his office balcony to watch the fight, so the twins won't get an elbow to the head." I could see the look of delight going over everyone's face but Derick seemed shocked.

"No way…" He managed.

"Yes way. Although there will only be eight tickets, I might be able to pester him for one more." I turned to Jenny. "If you want to go?" she frowned and shook her head.

"I'll stay and look after the girls. It would be a waist if I went to the fight." I looked to Shawn.

"Do you want to go?" He nodded.

"Definitely." Derick held up his hands.

"Wait a minute…" He looked to me. "Rodger Vanson is letting us use his office to watch the fight because he doesn't want the boys hurt in the stands?" I nodded.

"He'll probably try and get you to buy a season ticket or overpriced merchandise." Derick nodded.

"That's expected but why would he do all this for you?" His question held a few deeper connotations.

"I do really good work on both sets of accounting books." I took a beer and offered some around. "Or I'm actually the Banshee and he's trying to butter me up to fight." My voice was dripping with sarcasm as I cackled and saw Shawn shake his head.

"Please, one pretender is enough." He held his hands up. "Sorry boss man but no one here believes for a second that Lisa is the Banshee." My head turned slightly.

"Yeah, the boys mentioned something about Lisa being the Banshee." Derick shrugged.

"No clue," I look to Mathew and he sighed.

"She's never said it out loud... but she has hinted it a lot like playing the ride of the Valkyries on the player tonight." I nodded as I was beginning to get lost in thought. The girl obviously didn't have a clue about fighting in the real world she lacked the certain aura. I could tell she had partaken in some training but that is nothing when faced with real pain in a fight.

"She did have a fighters token on her." All eyes turned to me. "But it was issued for this year. It means at the very least she's got a fighting contract with one of the managers." Chad frowned.

"No way." I heard the disbelief in his voice. "Are you sure?" I nodded.

"Yeah, I see those tokens all the time when the fighters come in. I've done the invoices for the new tokens and for replacements. It means she's possibly already started fighting in the ring or is about to have her debut fight soon." Jeff frowned as he stuffed a few chips into his mouth.

"Could she have lost her old one and been given a new one?" I shook my head.

"All tokens have a serial number on them. If a fighter loses their old one a new replica will be made to replace it." The group began to talk about new female fights that had hit the ring recently and there was six that had turned up.

I listened as they scrutinized each one. With a flick of my head I finished my beer and tossed the can into the bin as I grabbed a second can. My leg brushed up against others in the tub and I settled back down.

"You know… Just a hunch…" they all looked to me. "She could be the fake Banshee…" Derick seemed to be looking at me funny as he shifted on his side of the tub. Jeff nodded.

"Oh… that would make a lot of sense…" He grinned. I felt someone moving their leg against mine with a stroke. Instinctively I raised my legs from the mass and crossed them.

Slowly as the night wore on my eyes kept going back to Derick as I caught him stealing glances all night. But now his eyes were barely even able to stay open. I got Jenny's attention and pointed my beer. She looked around and smirked then whispered to Mathew. He raised his head from her shoulder and chuckled as Derick's head began to slump against his chest.
