By the time Lyodreck stepped out of the portal that connected his realm to the mortal's, he was startled to see an undesirable sight. How could he not? Two overly make-up girls appeared out of nowhere to welcome him... only, he didn't want to be welcomed!
He knew his mother was in Chavau's residence at the moment, and these girls were here undoubtedly because of his mother!
"LYOD! What a fancy to see you here!"
"Oh, my gosh! You're still as handsome as we remembered. Have you met your mate yet?"
"…" Phew! Luckily, he had dyed his hair before this. Otherwise, these two girls would immediately pull his hand to return to their home.
His dyed hair would only last for six hours before finally drying and falling out, revealing his snow-like white hair. Six hours was enough to check the surveillance in the mortal realm.
He needed to know if he needed to put an extra warrior to guard this realm at night or not.
But he truly hoped his Beta would help him right now and not laugh at him instead!
"I got a mission from my Alpha." lied Lyod smoothly, and his answer sounded like he ensured the girls that he wasn't an Alpha. "Isn't that right, Alpha Doug?"
Douglass' amused laughter vanished as soon as he heard his Alpha calling him. Understood what his Alpha was thinking, Douglass played along with him.
"Yup. We're here for a mission."
"What? So you're an Alpha???" squealed Krista and her eyes stared at the 'Alpha' with a hungry look as if she readied to pounce on him. On the other hand, her sister rolled her eyes at her younger sister. "Which pack are you? Have you found your mate yet?"
"It's just a small pack, and yes, I already found the one," answered Douglass politely, causing Krista's expectation to be crushed like a popped balloon.
Ignoring her crest-fallen sister, Tracy inquired both werewolf boys about the most important issue. "Have you guys ever met the Alpha of the White Bridge Pack? What's the person like? Luna Courtney sent us to escort the white Alpha, and she said he would be coming to our house today."
Lyod and Douglass exchanged glances before answering the elder sister's question.
"I'm afraid we don't have the answer for that. Pardon us, ladies. We ran out of time." Lyod strode without giving the ladies a second glance, followed by his Beta to get into the forest and avoid the residence area. More precisely, he didn't want his mother to notice his presence. Let alone force him into every single girl's house in this realm.
It would be so troublesome if his mother sniffed his scent.
"So they're not your mate?" inquired Douglass in a teasing tone, inviting a glare from the Alpha.
Obviously, the only one who dared to provoke his Alpha all of the time and pulled his leg at every opportunity was Douglass. If Douglass were someone else and offended the Alpha King, that person was courting death.
On the contrary, Lyod would never punish nor oppress Douglass, no matter how often his Beta irked him. Douglass was his childhood friend. They had been through up and down, whether on the battlefield or the academy. They always stick together, and the word 'inseparable duo' was suitable for their bond.
Douglass was his most trusted person and his Beta. Wherever Lyod went, Douglass would follow him without hesitation, and Lyod could always count on his Beta in every situation.
Lyod knew his Beta would always have his back no matter his decision.
"Anyway, do you remember Chavau's third young lady? The strawberry blond hair girl. What was her name?"
"You mean Ard?"
"That's not her name." Douglass frowned as he believed that name was a mockery coined by Lyod.
"I don't care." was his indifferent tone.
Lyod stated that he didn't care about the outcast girl living in the Chavau family, but he still remembered her quite well.
Ard was his junior in the academy when he lived in the mortal realm. The girl had strawberry blond hair and captivating chocolate-like round eyes. She had rosy lips that looked like an irresistible poison apple, and the way her lock hairs fell to frame her fairy-like face enchanted every human male in the mortal realm.
He knew Ard would be the most beautiful girl he had ever known. He even felt very sure that the girl would be more beautiful than his childhood sweetheart, and this is what makes him angry.
Lyod didn't know why he disliked that girl so much and bullied her at the academy. He even splashed her with cold water in the winter and once told his friends to lock the girl in the gym all night until he heard the girl had fallen ill.
Well… since then, he didn't oppress her anymore due to the guilty he never knew he would have. Human is so fragile and gets ill easily. How could a human survive without the werewolf's protection?
Lyod no longer cornered the poor girl and ordered his fellow not to bother her. However, he let his human classmate taunt the poor girl to the point he could see her helpless state.
Not long after, he returned home to his birth realm before his hair turned white, and since then, he never thought about that girl again. He didn't even care what the girl looked like now or whether she was still as helpless as four years ago.
Now that his Beta mentioned the girl and their coincidence arrival in the mortal realm, Lyod couldn't help but be inquisitive.
What does the girl look like now? How will she react to seeing him again after what he had done to her in the past?
Not far away, the Chavau girls started to grumble because they were getting impatient. When would the Alpha King arrive?
"We'd better go home and tell Luna Courtney about this." Tracy's suggestion soon earned an agreement nod from her younger sister.
Their heart shattered when they heard from their parents that Alpha and Luna had gone to visit another house. Not only have they failed to meet the new Alpha King, but they also haven't had the chance to impress the Luna.
Krista stomped her feet and walked to the kitchen only to see something that made her want to eat someone alive.
"MOM! Rousell gave my favorite pudding to Ard!!"
Rousell and Aria gasped in shock, not expecting to see the most annoying girl stepping her foot in the kitchen.
What should they do now?
