Chapter 1 - Scarlett Female Detective No Case Is Unsolved

Blue Lagoon Case

Scarlett is a Law Enforcement Officer with ten years on the job. She was recently promoted to Investigator. She worked hard to be an investigator. Her brother was also a Law Enforcement Officer who was killed in the line of duty when she was fifteen. Ever since he died, she wanted to follow him and have a career in Law Enforcement. The day she was promoted, Scarlett knew her brother was looking down on her. She was the first female investigator working in the County of Blue Lagoon. She is excited about having the job and feels she must prove herself. Other male officers applied for the job, but Scarlett got the promotion. Scarlett felt like society believed law enforcement was a job for a man. With her being a female, she was always held to a higher standard. At the beginning of her career, she felt like everyone was waiting for her to fail. After getting to know her, the officers liked her. She is married to Brad, a high school principal and has two small children, Katie, 5, and Allison, 7, in Elementary School.

Scarlett was at Katie's first Ballet Dance Recital when she received the call from Colonel Andrews. Scarlett was called to report on the scene of a dead body. When she arrived, the scene was closed off by the police. As she walked down the sand dunes to the beach, the wind was blowing through her hair. The sun was beating down on her face. The closer she became to the body, the rotten smell overpowered the smell of saltwater. It was the body of a young female that had washed up on the beach. The female was approximately twenty years old. She was dressed in a black evening gown. She had on a diamond necklace, earrings, a gold watch, and a gold bracelet with one ruby bead. Now Scarlett's job was to determine who killed her and why. The female was taken to the coroner's office to determine the cause of death. The female was killed by strangulation and there was no sign of sexual assault. She was also scalped. It is unusual to find a body scalped in current times. Cutting the crown of hair from someone was traditionally viewed as proof that the person was dead. Had someone been paid to kill her? Who was she?

Scarlett checked the missing person's report. There was a report of a female approximately twenty years old missing. The family was notified and was called to come and identify the body. The body was identified as Rebecca Vanderbilt. Rebecca was working her way through college as a dancer in the Ruby Night Club. Scarlet wanted to know who the last person was to see her alive. Rebecca's family provided a photo to assist with the investigation. Scarlett asked the family when was the last time they saw her. It was ten days since they saw her. Rebecca was just a college student with no one wanting to kill her. She was from a prestigious family with money. Rebecca had wanted to make it on her own. Her family disapproved of her working as a dancer. The family had turned their backs on Rebecca except for her sister Amy. Amy was her oldest sister, twenty-five years old. Amy supported her sister's desire to go to college and be independent. Depending on the family, money would give the family control. Rebecca was a strong woman determined to make it in the world.

Scarlett interviews the workers of the Ruby Night Club. Rebecca (Baby her stage name) was the new upcoming dancer. She started out as being a topless server. Most of the girls had to work as topless servers before advancing to dancers. The dancers made more money than the server. The server only gave tips on serving the drinks. The dancers made a percentage of the till plus tips. The income for a dancer is unpredictable. Baby advanced in her job quickly. She had only been working at the club for six months. Some of the other girls were jealous of her. Baby had blonde sun-bleached hair and the perfect tan for a beach babe. There were always men coming into the club just to see her. Baby was not only a beautiful blond-haired person. She was also educated and could continue a conversation with anyone. She had a special laugh. She always slightly tilts her head back when she laughs. Her laugh would echo through the club, and everyone would laugh. The smile and happiness she brought to the customers helped her advance her career. She was a young woman full of life. A life that ended too soon.

Scarlett and the teachers at the school gave Brad a surprise birthday party. Brad had never had a birthday party before. When he was a little boy, all he ever received for his birthday was a chocolate cake. His family never really celebrated a birthday. The guest was singing Happy Birthday and started to cut the cake. Scarlett receives another call to report on the scene of a body discovered in the woods. When she arrived, the scene was roped off by the police. Scarlett arrived. It was the body of a young female that had been scalped. These were two women that had been scalped in the week. The female was wearing a red evening gown. She had a bracelet with two ruby beads. The body was taken to the coroner's office and examined. She was approximately seventeen years old. She was strangled to death with no signs of sexual assault. In the woods several feet away from the body, Scarlett discovers a purse. The purse was filled with marijuana, money, and a driver's license for Jody Sinclair. If the murderer were for money or drugs, they would have taken the purse. Scarlett went to the address on her driver's license.

A woman came to the door. Scarlett introduced herself as an investigator for the county. She asked to speak to Jody Sinclair. The man, Mr. Sinclair, had not seen Jody in days. She last saw her on the day before he left for a business trip. She had just arrived home. Jody was her daughter. Ms. Sinclair attempted to call her several times with no answer. Scarlett began to tell Ms. Sinclair that the body of a young girl had been discovered. Jody's purse was discovered nearby. Scarlett asked Ms. Sinclair for a photo of Jody. Ms. Sinclair went upstairs into Jody's room and provided her homecoming photo. Scarlett asked if she knew someone that could come and identify the body. Ms. Sinclair agreed to go to the morgue with her husband. The body was identified as Jody.

Scarlett continued to question Mr. Sinclair and Ms. Sinclair to find a clue about the killing. Jody was a troubled teenager. She had gotten involved with drugs after meeting her boyfriend. She was a junior in high school and rebellious. She started hanging out with the wrong crowd and her parents objected. They never had any problems with Jody before she met Andy. Andy was a school dropout and encouraged Jody to do the same. Jody had dreamed of going to college and becoming a nurse. Then she met Andy and got involved with drugs. Jody was a beautiful blonde-haired lady with a perfect tan. Scarlett asked her parents where Jody got the bracket with two ruby beads. Neither of her parents had ever seen it before.

Scarlett asked where she could talk to Andy at. Ms. and Ms. Sinclair did not know where to find him. Jody had only been dating him for a few months. Ms. Sinclair called Jody's friend Indy and obtained a telephone number to talk to Andy. Scarlett did want to talk to him on the telephone. She wanted to talk to him in person. Scarlett returned home and called the telephone company. The telephone company provided the address for the phone number. Scarlett went to the address and knocked on the door. A man looked out the window, saw the police car, and ran out the back door. He got into a black van parked in the yard and left.

Scarlett continued on a high-speed chase with the van. Police chases create a dangerous situation for everyone involved, especially when police go to extreme lengths pursuing a suspect. Scarlett radioed the station for assistance. She had no idea why the suspect was running. She was only there to talk to him. Did he kill Jody? Scarlett continued to chase him for miles on a long county road. Finally, the other officer created a roadblock at the intersection. He ran over the sidewalk and escaped the roadblock. Scarlett was still in pursuit with several other police officers with her. The van ran out of gas and the man started running in the woods.

Scarlett radioed the station and asked for the K9 tracking unit to assist. When the K9 tracking team arrives, the K9 tracking team is trained to track criminals, sniff out illegal materials, search for buildings, and other jobs that humans cannot do as well as dogs. The K9 tracks the man into the woods and leads Scarlett straight to him. Police dogs have assisted law enforcement officers for over a century, and they provide talents humans simply do not possess. They are trained to attack in certain situations and are capable of inflicting severe wounds. Police dogs are taught to bite and hold. Scarlett hand cuffed the man and took him to jail.

Scarlett questions Andy about the murder of Jody. Andy stated he did not know what she was talking about. The police searched the house and discovered it was a meth lab. The meth lab is used to illegally produce methamphetamine. Household products are used to make methamphetamine. By themselves, they present little danger, but when combined, can have serious toxic and explosive effects. Some of the ingredients used to make meth are drain cleaner, cold tables, battery acid, paint thinner and other items. Some signs of a meth lab are propane tanks with fittings that have turned blue. Copious amounts of pseudoephedrine, coffee filters with white pasty substances or shiny white crystals. A strong chemical odor. Sometimes it can smell like urine. Glass cookware or frying pans with powdery residue, and bottles with rubber tubing attached. Cleaning a meth lab is a dangerous and complicated process that should only be overseen by trained professionals. Andy stated he ran because he did not want to be caught in a meth lab. Andy was arrested for manufacturing meth with the intent to distribute it.

If Andy was telling the truth about Jody, Scarlett knew there was a serial killer on the loose. But who was it? Both girls were young blond-haired-headed girls that had been scalped. Both girls were wearing a bracelet with ruby beads. The first girl had one ruby bead and the second had two ruby beads. Scarlett realized the ruby bead represented the number of girls that had been killed. But why were they scalped? Was it because they were blonde-headed? What was the connection between the two girls? Both were in school. One in college and one in high school. What was the connection? Every night, Scarlett had a special night with her family. She received a telephone call to investigate a victim. Katie could not understand why her mother left before she saw the recital. Scarlett promised to make it up to her with a special dinner and a movie. Katie was excited about going to the movies. It was something that they had never done before. Katie wanted to see Cinderella. The new Cinderella was advertised on the television set all the time. All the girls in her class were going to see Cinderella. Cinderella is the beautiful princess. Katie pretended to be Cinderella all the time. She dressed up in Cinderella costumes all the time. Allison would pretend to be the Fairy God Mother and wave a magic wand and Katie would suddenly have on a beautiful blue dress.

Scarlett began researching to determine if the ruby bracelet had a significant meaning. In the Middle Ages, rubies were viewed as a stone of love, energy, passion, power, and a zest for life. Like no other gemstone in the world, Ruby is the perfect symbol of powerful feelings. The first victim had a bracelet with one ruby, and the second victim had a bracelet with two rubies. The number of rubies symbolized the number of victims that had been killed. Scalping was the practice of removing the scalp, "the hair skin of the head, from a slain enemy as a trophy that originated in ancient recruiting. Germanic tribes ascribed magical power to a shock of human hair, regarding it as a symbol of the free man. Germanic is a broad umbrella term for the people that speak a group of languages that are interrelated and live in the northern part of Europe. Scalping did not become extensive until the eighteenth century, when warring European groups adopted the custom of posting rewards for scalps to terrorize the foe of the moment.

Scarlett compiled all the research and wondered if the killer's heritage was Northern Europe. European groups adopted the custom of posting rewards for scalps. Blonde hair is most associated with the people of Northern Europe. The victims were not sexually assaulted; therefore, sex was not a motive. The ruby was significant regarding the number of victims. The scalps were kept as trophies by the killer. The bodies were found in a small community. With no witnesses. No additional evidence has been discovered. Both victims were in school. Both had blonde hair. Both victims had a tan. Light skin is commonly found amongst the native populations of Europe and Northeast Asia as measured through skin reflectance. The victims had a tan, meaning they were light skinned. Scarlett needed to find the connection. Was it possible the killer was focusing on Europeans? Did all the European indicators mean anything?

Scarlett decides to take the family out to dinner at the Three Crowns Restaurant. The Three Crowns is best known for Smorgasbord. A Scandinavian meal, originating in Sweden, is served buffet-style with multiple hot and cold dishes of various foods on a table. She was hoping to find a clue while at the restaurant. It was the only restaurant in the small town that served European food. If the killer was European, this was one of the places the killer liked to visit. While at the restaurant, Scarlett saw a display of bracelets with ruby beads for sale. While waiting for her food to be delivered to the table, the telephone rang. She received a call from Colonel Andrews. Scarlett was called to report on the scene of a dead body. The body was in a dumpster behind the Ruby Night Club.

When she arrived, the scene was roped off by the police. Scarlett arrived. It was the body of a young female that had been scalped. The female was wearing a blue evening gown. She had a bracelet with four ruby beads. The body was taken to the coroner's office and examined. She was approximately twenty years old. She was strangled to death with no signs of sexual assault. Scarlett examined the contents of the dumpster and discovered a restaurant bag from the Three Crowns Restaurant. The bracelet had four beads on it. If the beads were the number of victims, then one body had not been discovered. There was also a purse in the dumpster. The purse belonged to Susan Alexander. The driver's license address was 142 Pine Nut Drive. The Three Crowns Restaurant in on Pine Nut Drive.

Scarlett believed the ruby beads were purchased from The Three Crowns Restaurant. The beads were Ruby, and the dumpster was behind the Ruby Night Club. Is it possible the Night Club and the restaurant had a connection? She arrived at 142 Pine Nut Drive and knocked on the door. Ms. Daisy, a senior citizen, answered the door. Scarlett questioned her. Susan Alexander was in the bedroom asleep. Ms. Daisy invited Scarlett to come into the dining room while she went to the bedroom to get Susan. Susan entered the dining room and sat down at the table beside Scarlett. Scarlett informs her the purse was discovered in the dumpster behind the Ruby Night Club. Susan asked them to talk outside. She did not want Ms. Daisy her grandmother to hear the conversation. Susan informed Scarlett she had been working at the Ruby Night Club as a server. Her grandmother needed medical care and they had no way to pay for it. Susan begged Scarlett not to tell her grandmother. Susan had been working at the Three Crowns Restaurant during the day and the Ruby Night Club at night. The Night Club provided more money than she could make working two shifts at the Restaurant. Daisy thought she was working during the day and going to night school to be a Nurse. This gave Scarlett the opportunity to ask her about the bracelets at the Restaurant. Susan explained while working at the restaurant that her purse had been stolen. She had no idea who had taken it. The owner of the Restaurant, Toni, made the bracelets.

While Susan was working at the restaurant, she received a telephone call from the doctor. She was informed by Ms. Daisy was diagnosed with Kidney Failure and will need a Kidney Transplant. For the elderly aged 60 years old to 80 years old diagnosed with Kidney Failure have a life expectancy from one year to six years. A severe decrease in kidney function can lead to a buildup of toxins and impurities in the blood. This can cause people to feel tired, weak and can make it hard to concentrate. Another complication of kidney disease is anemia, which can cause weakness and fatigue. If the kidneys lose even 30 percent to 40 percent of function, one might not even notice. A person can live with just one healthy kidney. The treatment choices are dialysis, a process to cleanse the blood and body, or a kidney transplant. Susan was assessed and was a perfect match for Ms. Daisy. Now Susan had to make the money to pay for the procedure. Scarlett assisted Susan in setting up a fund to raise money for the transplant surgery.

Susan wanted to help Scarlett solve the case. She worked at the Rudy Night Club and the Three Crowns Restaurant. She would see unusual activities and call Scarlett. Ms. Daisy made a Dreamcatcher and gave it to Scarlett as a gift. According to the legend, the "spiderwebs" protective charm originated with a spider woman who takes care of children and people on the land. The dreamcatchers were hung on the cradle board where infants sleep. It was believed that the spider webs in the dreamcatcher caught any harm that might be in the air. Mothers and grandmothers began to weave webs for the children using willow hoops. A mounted and framed dreamcatcher is used as a shared symbol of hope and healing. Ms. Daisy gave Scarlett the dreamcatcher as a symbol of protection.

The dreamcatcher is sometimes used to protect people sleeping from bad dreams and nightmares. Good dreams pass through and gently slide down the feathers to comfort the sleeper below. Dreamcatchers are hung as a symbol of protection. The dream catcher is made with white yarn, ruby beads, and blue feathers. Scarlett hung the dreamcatcher above the bed before going to sleep. As she was sleeping that night, she dreamed of seeing a blonde-haired woman playing with a black-haired baby. The two of them were happy. Scarlett woke up as the alarm clock rang.

Scarlett arrived at work like a normal day. The newspaper had been covering the case of the murders. Everyone knew that Scarlett and her partner were working the case. The mail was delivered to Scarlett. When she opened a letter, inside was a complete bracelet made with five ruby beads. Did this mean that she would be the fifth victim? There was a body that had not been discovered yet. The third body discovered in the dumpster behind the Ruby Night Club had a bracelet with four beads. Three bodies have been discovered.

She called the morgue to see if anyone had identified the body. The coroner advised Scarlett that Mr. Clarence Lewis had identified the body. Scarlett was provided with the telephone to contact him. She called and arranged an appointment for her to talk to him. Mr. Lewis wanted to go to the police station to talk to her that afternoon. Scarlett receives a telephone call from Susan. A man had come into the restaurant and purchased five ruby bead bracelets. Susan had seen the man before at the Ruby Night Club. Scarlett made arrangements to be at the Ruby Night Club. They had a greater probability of finding him there than at the restaurant. Scarlett arrives at the police station and Mr. Lewis there. He had a picture of his daughter Jennifer. Jennifer was blonde haired with a fair complexion. She was in the Army and home on leave. Mr. Lewis was shown a picture of the other girls and asked if he knew them. Mr. Lewis did not know the other girls. Scarlett believed the victims were random.

Scarlett returns home to have dinner with her family. She discussed going to the Night Club with her husband. He did not want her to go to the Night Club. She explained to him that she had received the bracelet at work, and she was targeted as the next victim. Scarlett had to catch the killer. Susan was going to call her when the man arrived at the Night Club. Scarlett took a shower and laid down to take a nap. While sleeping, she dreams of a blonde-haired woman being in a car accident and killed. The black-haired baby was cry for his mother to come home. Susan never called for her to come to the Night Club. Later that night, Scarlett dreams Rebecca (Baby) was walking on the beach at night and a black-haired man started talking to her. They walked on the beach for hours. He told her about a special place on the beach they could go to. He would start a bonfire and they could talk all night. Baby loved the beach and had never slept a night on the beach. The man was a perfect gentleman. Baby had never met anyone like him before. He made no sexual advances towards her. He was a lonely man, and she was a lonely woman. When Baby was sleeping on the beach, he strangled her, scalped her, placed the bracelet on her wrist and threw her body in the bay. Scarlett woke up with her heart pounding. She had witnessed the murder of Baby in her sleep.

Scarlett did not start having dreams until she received the Dreamcatcher from Ms. Daisy. She talked to Ms. Daisy about the Dreamcatcher. Scarlett told Daisy about the dreams she had been having. Ms. Daisy told her "The day you came to the house, you thought Susan was dead. The real reason you came to the house is because you were in danger and needed protection. The Dreams are Visions. Soteria is providing you with Visions to protect yourself. Scarlett is seeing visions of the past to help her catch the killer and protect herself.

Scarlett then wanted to have dreams. She needed to catch the killer before she was killed. There was still a body missing and needed to be discovered. She returned home and went to sleep. She started dreaming about Jennifer. Jennifer was at the Movie Theater watching a movie. A dark-haired man sat down beside her. The dark-haired man was about twenty years old. He was wearing a denim shirt and blue jeans. The shirt had the logo of Foodservice Elite on the left side of the shirt. Foodservice Elite is a company that delivers food to businesses and restaurants. After the movie was over, Jennifer and the man left for the movie to have a drink at the Ruby Night Club. At the Ruby Night Club, Jennifer and the man were dancing. The name Daniel was on the left side of the shirt. When leaving the night club, Daniel strangled her, scalped her, and dumped her body in the dumpster. She woke up. She now had another lead. She believed the dreams were visions.

Scarlett arrived at the office. She began researching the Foodservice Elite. She contacted Foodservice Elite and scheduled an appointment with the Office Manager. She interviewed the Officer Manger and told him that Ruby Night Club and The Three Crowns Restaurant were their customers. She asked if there was a man named Daniel that worked for him. He stated Daniel used to work for him but was killed in a car accident several years ago. She was confused about what the connection was. Why did Daniel mean in her dream? Was it the correct delivery service that she saw? Was she mistaken? She needed answers and fast.

Scarlett was glad to be home. It was a long, exhausting day at work. Seeing the smile on her beautiful children made all the stress of the day go away. She needed a relaxing night. A night to gather her thoughts. A night with her family. The investigation had taken so much of her time, she simply wanted to have a night with the family. It had been weeks since she completed a meal with her family. Her husband understood the devotion she had to her job and how important it was. She had the obligation of protecting everyone in the country.

Brad loved her and understood. However, Katie and Allison missed their mother and wanted to be with her. It was bedtime for Katie and Allison. It was a school night. Scarlett said a nighttime prayer with the children before tucking them into bed. She read Katie her favorite bedtime story Cinderella. Allison snuggled up to Katie as she fell asleep. Scarlett stayed in the bedroom with the children until they were asleep. When the children were asleep, she sat in the rocking chair and watched them sleep. The peace on their faces and the beauty of her two children was an enjoyable sight to see. Scarlett was transformed into a world of peace and happiness. The thoughts of murder and the job had escaped from her. Scarlett gently rubbed the heads of the children and kissed them on the head. The moment was special to Scarlett. She did not know when and if there would be a next time. She knew one day she might go to work and never return. Each day was precious. It could be her last.

Scarlett went to bed as usual. She began dreaming. During the dream, we walked up to a house. The numbers on the house were 1452. As she entered the house, she saw a little boy lying on a red rug. He was crying, asking his mother to return. Scarlett talked to him, trying to provide comfort. The little boy told her "My mommy left me because I had dark hair like my dad. She had the most beautiful blonde hair in the world. Why did she love me?" Scarlett held him in her arms with tears in her eyes. She looked up. The room walls were filled with bookshelves. The shelves were filled with mannequin heads with blonde wigs. The wigs were all lengths but all of them were blonde. The corner of the room was a clothesline with blonde scalps hanging on it. The scalps were being cured. Like trapper dried fur to be shipped to market. Scarlett started walking into the next room of the house. A man was standing behind the door. He placed a wire around her neck and attempted to strangle her. She had a vision of her death. She suddenly woke up with her heart pounding and scared.

Blue Lagoon Part 2

Scarlett took a hot shower and pulled herself together. She arrived at the office. The mail was sitting on her desk. She opened an envelope addressed to her. Inside was a letter that read, "You are next." She began to shake because it was a threat to her life. The killer was saying "You are my next victim." She knew the killer had to be discovered quickly. Scarlett went back to see Daisy. Daisy could help her understand her dreams. When she arrived at Ms. Daisy's house, she noticed it looked like the house in her dream. She walked on to the front porch. The numbers on the house were 1451. She told Ms. Daisy about the dream. Ms. Daisy asked her to sit down at the table and have a cup of coffee with her. Ms. Daisy suddenly went into a trance. A trance is a natural state of consciousness during which the mind becomes less linear and analytical than in the waking state, entering what might be called "passive attention." Our mind is ever vigilant- even in trance- to protect us from perceived danger. A trance may be understood as a way for the mind to change the way it filters information to prove more efficient use of the mind's resources. Daisy entered the trance to allow her mind to better assist Scarlett to solve the crime.

Daisy opened her eyes and looked at Scarlett and stated, "You are in great danger. He is going to try to kill you. You must protect yourself. Tell me about the visions." I saw Baby walking on the beach with a black-haired man. She went to sleep on the beach. He strangled her, scalped her, placed a ruby bead bracelet on her wrist, and threw her at bay. Daisy responded, "Baby was a bad girl. She was a stripper at the Ruby Night Club. The black-haired man had been watching her at the Club for months. He went to the Club just to see her. Every night when she left the Club, she felt dirty. She did not want to be a stripper, but she believed that was the only way. Being at the beach, she felt peace. When the waves crashed on the shore, she felt like she was being cleaned by the bay. She was taken to a place in her mind she always wanted to be. When she left the beach, she returned to reality. She had blonde hair. The man was obsessed with blonde hair. He gave her the bracelet as a symbol of the affection he had for a blonde-haired woman." Daisy closed her eyes and stopped talking for a few minutes. Suddenly she opened her eyes and stated, "Mother." Scarlett was confused because, what did she mean when she said Mother?

Daisy looked at Scarlett and said "Continue." Scarlett began telling Daisy about the next dream. "Jennifer was at the Movie Theater watching a movie. A dark-haired man sat down beside her. He was about twenty years old. He had on a shirt with the logo Foodservice Elite on the shirt. After the movie, they had a drink at the Ruby Night Club. On the left side of the shirt was the name Daniel. He strangled her, scalped her, and dumped her body in the dumpster." Daisy responded, "Jennifer was experiencing PTSD." Post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that is triggered by a terrifying event. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the event. PTSD symptoms are grouped into four types: intrusive memories, avoidance, negative changes in thinking and mood, and changes in physical and emotional reactions. Severe emotional distress or physical reactions to something that reminds you of a traumatic event. "Jennifer was having negative thoughts about herself and feeling guilty. Jennifer served in the Desert Storm. " Jennifer and her troops were in Saudi Arabia. Amelia, her friend, was in the tank ahead of her as they were entering enemy territory. She ran over a land mine." A land mine is an explosive device concealed under the ground and designed to destroy or disable enemy targets as they pass over or near it. "The mine exploded and killed Amelia. Jennifer always believed she should have been able to save Amelia. Jennifer was depressed and went to the night club to try and drink the pain away. The dark-haired man understood and listened to her. Jennifer was a hero. The dark-haired man killed her. His name was not Daniel." Daisy suddenly came out of the trance and laid her head on the table. She told Scarlett to leave because she had to rest now. Daisy told Scarlett to come back tomorrow.

Scarlett left and returned home. She sat for hours thinking about all the things Ms. Daisy had told her. As she thought about Jennifer she began to cry. Tears were slowly falling down her face. Brad walked into the room and put his arms around her. Scarlett begins telling him about Jennifer. Brad had compassion for her. His father was in the Military, and he understood what it meant to be a solider and fight in a war. His father had been in the Vietnam War. He never talked about it. Anytime someone started to talk about it, he would leave the room. They could not imagine the pain Jennifer must have felt. Scarlett and Brad agree to go to her grave and place flowers on it. They wanted to show her respect and gratitude. Scarlett chose a flower arrangement that was red carnations, white daisies, and blue moon roses and Brad chose an American Flag. When they arrived at the cemetery, the grave site was filled with flowers. Scarlett and Brad thanked Jennifer for her service. When they left the cemetery, a dark blue truck followed them for several miles. Scarlett drove to the police station. When she arrived at the police station, the truck sped away. Scarlett tried to get a tag number, but the truck was traveling too fast. Scarlett knew it had to be the killer.

Scarlett, when I see Ms. Daisy and Brad went with her. Ms. Daisy invited them to sit and drink coffee at the dining table. Ms. Daisy placed her hands on her face and went into a trance. She asked Scarlett to continue telling her about the dreams. During a dream, she walks into a house with the numbers 1452. A boy was on the floor crying for his mother. Daisy started telling her, "The house is 1452 Daniel Drive. The boy crying is the killer. His mother was killed in a car wreck. He was little and did not understand she had died." Scarlett then continued to tell her about the dream. "The room was filled with blonde wigs." Ms. Daisy responded, "His mother had blonde hair. He thought she left him because he was black-headed like his father. Since he was a little boy, he has tried to get his mother to return. He collected all the blonde wigs to show her he loved her blonde hair. When she did not return, he thought it was because the hair was not real. Then he started scalping blonde-haired girls. He left the ruby beads as a sign of love and strong affection for her." Ms. Daisy fell from the chair she was sitting in onto the floor.

Ms. Daisy started to violently shake. Her arms and legs started jerking. She started drooling at the mouth and clenching her teeth. Scarlett was terrified that something bad had happened to Ms. Daisy. The Emergency Medical Rescue team was called. Before they arrived, Ms. Daisy started to gain consciousness. Ms. Daisy tells Scarlett the truck that followed her is the killer. He will try to kill you soon. Ms. Daisy Kidney's failure caused her to have seizures. Her Kidney failure had progressed. Ms. Daisy was put in the hospital and if she did not receive a Kidney transplant in twenty-four hours she would die. Susan rushed to the hospital. The doctor told her the diagnosis and what had happened. Susan began to cry. She still had not raised enough money to pay for the surgery. Scarlett talked to the Hospital Administrator and asked her for help. The administrator talked to the surgeon that would do the surgery. They agreed to do the surgery at no cost. The administrator held a special emergency meeting with the board members. They agreed to charge only the cost of the supplies and medicine. The money Susan had worked for and collected was enough for the surgery.

Scarlett stayed in the hospital the entire time during the surgery. They would need someone to take care of them when they were released. Hospital recovery for a kidney transplant is usually 5-10 days if there are no complications. Immediately after surgery, the patient will be in intensive care for 24-48 hours. Most kidney transplant recipients can return to work and other normal activities within eight weeks after transplant. Typically, a living kidney transplant donor spends two days in the hospital and will have an additional four to six weeks of recovery time. Scarlett and Brad hired a nurse to take care of them when they were released from the hospital. Susan and Ms. Daisy had a full recovery with no complications.

Scarlett and her partner approached the house at 1452 Daniel Drive and knocked on the door. A little black-haired boy came to the door. Scarlett asked if he would get his mother or father. A blonde-haired woman came to the door. Scarlett asked if a man lived there. No man lived at the address. Scarlett began telling her they were investigators and asked if they could come inside. The woman, Ms. Lada asked them to come in and have a cup of tea. In Slovakian, the name Lada means goddess of love and fertility. Lada was divorced with a five-year-old boy named Sasha. In Russian, the name Sasha means the protector and helper of humankind.

Sasha went into the dining room where Scarlett was having tea. He looked at her and started crying. Scarlett did not know what was going on. The little boy started crying for no reason. Scarlett asked Sasha to come and sit beside her at the table and tell her what was wrong. Sasha then stated, "You came for me. I did not do it. That man did. He is a mean man. He is going to hurt us. Please help my momma." Scarlett asked Lada about what he was saying. Lada did not know. She started asking Sasha questions. After hours of talking to him. The man lived next door. Sasha was kicking a ball in the yard. The ball went into the neighbor's yard. Sasha saw the man with two blonde wigs in his hand walking inside the house. Scarlett began to understand. They were not blonde wigs, they were scalps. The man threatened Sasha if he told anyone. He threatened to kill Lada. Sasha never told anyone about the incident. He was scared and afraid.

Scarlett and her partner went to the house next door. They knocked on the door and it came open. Scarlett yelled police, police. She entered the house and on the floor was the red rug she had seen in her dream. Scarlett knew if her dream was true, he was going to try and kill her. Scarlett started to walk through the door to the next room. She stopped and kicked the door against the wall again. A dark-haired man came from behind the door with a bloody nose. Scarlett was now living her vision. She looked around the room. The room was filled with blonde wigs and scalps. Scarlett was targeted as being the next victim.

In the middle of the floor was a round circle with candles around it. The candles were red with ruby red candleholders. Scarlett was now in the nightmare she had dreamed about. Suddenly, she realized the man was standing there with a gun in his hand. Scarlett was trying to talk him into giving up the gun. He told Scarlett there was only one way to end the pain. He pulled the trigger.
