ANDOR.
As I turned to leave the dungeon. Jeremy asked. "Did you ever wonder why they took her? Why they didn't just kill her?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"In case you were thinking of betraying me and storming the castle alone, I thought that I should let you know that you won't just be risking your mate's life. You'll also be risking the life of your baby."
My throat clenched.
"When we sent news to Marius, he was very excited that he would get to raise his demon wolf. That was why they left early, he wanted them to bring her immediately, but I was too drunk to follow. Then you found me."
The news plunged me into despair. As usual, there was nothing I could do except go on another quest. But, this time, I knew it would be the last before I fully reunited with my family. I had no reason to doubt Jeremy; now more than ever, I wasn't willing to allow them to have access to my power; it would be for only my children and their children.
