Vanessa suddenly sat up with a deep gasp. She'd recalled exactly what had occurred some moments ago.
Her trembling fingers cautiously moved to the hole in her stomach. "What?". There was no sign of the hole nor the rip in her clothing.
"Lord Dante?!", her eyes searched around the darkness to discover a dim lamp on the table beside her bed. The room seemed quite unfamiliar and the pouring of the rain could be heard from inside.
Throughout the time she'd been in the demon realm, it never rained.
She briskly jumped to her feet to look around. It was a small wooden room, unlike the elegant structures of the Vladwick's palace. "Could it be...", her eyes lit up with excitement as she moved to the closed window to take a glance outside. "The human world?".
Long awaited tears escaped her eyes and her heart seemed to do a leap where it resided. "I thought I died...".
