[Flora's POV]
Of course there would be a copy of my report in my ward. I had asked the attending doctor to do a checkup on Beyonce at the last minute, so how many tests could be covered? Tests on the internal organs such as the heart, liver, spleen, stomach, and kidneys were all internal medicine and the results wouldn't be out that quickly.
It was so funny to see Beyonce not knowing which part of her body she should be covering. I tilted my head and looked at Marshall. His gaze landed on me and he asked in concern, "Are you feeling any other discomfort?"
I rubbed my head without batting an eyelid and replied calmly, "I'm fine."
Marshall wasn't at ease when he heard this. He knew my personality. Even if something really happened, I wouldn't say it. He pulled away Beyonce, who was on the verge of tears, and promised me, "I'll send her back first and come back to accompany you immediately."
"Hurry up and go." I generously say goodbye to this adulterous couple and lie back down to rest.
Was Beyonce so foolish in the beginning? She would cover wherever I said it hurt. Did she not think to act logically even though she was just pretending to be sick?
I thought that Marshall wouldn't come back after he left, but unexpectedly, after just a while, he opened the door and sat down by the chair next to the bed.
Seeing that I had fallen asleep, he even pulled the blanket over me.
"I'm sorry, Flora. I didn't expect to meet my mate either, but please believe that I love you and you're my only wife. This will never change. Beyonce is just a pitiful woman. She has suffered a lot and has always been abused. She just needs a place to stay. I assure you that no one will interfere between us."
Marshall kissed my forehead. Before that, I was actually a little touched. It was because Marshall and I had grown up together and we had always thought that when we reached adulthood, we would be each other's mates for life. Even when we tried to sense after we came of age on our 18th birthday and realized that it wasn't true, our feelings over the years weren't fake.
I felt that the reason he had killed me in my previous life was that he was bewitched by that b*tch, Beyonce. He wouldn't betray me because of that woman.
However, now, when he placed his lips, which smelled of inferior perfume that Beyonce had on her, on my forehead, I felt so disgusted that I wanted to vomit.
Marshall, cheating was cheating. A change of heart was a change of heart. Why were you pretending to turn over a new leaf? In my previous life, I endured humiliation to maintain this relationship, but what did I get in return? It was a merciless stab to my heart.
In this life, I had no wish for such a man anymore.
I wanted a divorce.
There were many things to take care of in the pack every day. Beyonce's health report came out saying that she just had malnutrition. Marshall had brought her back long ago. I spent every day recuperating in the hospital, enjoying the peace from not seeing the disgusting duo. But over time, I was really getting bored.
I would have already recovered from this small injury at home long ago. I wouldn't even delay in handling the important matters of the tribe. But this time around, I came to the hospital to pretend to be sick. If I appeared lively, then what was the point of pretending to be sick?
Helpless, I thought of a compromise and sat in a wheelchair and had the caregiver push me to the garden.
Private hospitals had the best privacy. Moreover, due to their private nature, not many patients would come over every year. After all, the ones who were qualified to enter would have to at least be a beta of a tribe. Therefore, when I found an excuse to send the caregiver away, I was the only one in the entire garden.
I listened to the nearby situation and sensed if there were any living creatures hidden around. When I realized that I was the only one around, I jumped up happily from the wheelchair.
Lying there every day made my bones feel weak.
While there was no one around, I quickly moved around.
I wandered amongst the flowers, occasionally kicking my legs and moving my shoulders and neck. Looking at the beautiful flowers and interacting with nature made my mood better.
I plucked a flower, but before I could put it to my nose and sniff it, a wolf grabbed onto my neck and called out for his mate.
I could confirm that he was not my mate because my wolf, Annie, didn't react at all. I called Annie out to help me, but she didn't come out.
Therefore, I could only be locked by this wolf's grip in my human form. I struggled hard and tried to communicate with him. "Why are you acting all crazy? It's broad daylight. I'm not your mate. I'm already married. Go find someone else!"
The difference in our strengths was so great that my resistance was almost negligible. He bit and licked my neck intimately. I was afraid that if I angered him, he would break my neck. I could only steel my heart and call Marshall.
We hadn't gotten a divorce yet. It was only right for the husband to come over to protect his wife when she was being bullied.
However, before I could make the call, the wolf that had me locked in his grip sensed something and left. After a while, Marshall came. He smelled someone else's scent on me and shouted at me, "What happened? Why are you here? Why didn't you turn into your wolf and resist? Where's the caregiver?"
