[Flora's POV]
I thought about the possibility of being rejected by the Wolf King, but I was still hurt. I reasoned, "Why doesn't the law protect women? I'm the heir who inherited the blood of the Southwind Tribe's alpha. However, because of the law, I had no choice but to let Marshall, who married into my family, inherit the alpha position. How are women worse off than men? When the flood came surging up and the little werewolf was swept away, no men dared to go down. I was the only one. I was the one who saved the little werewolf."
"You're indeed very brave, braver than many men." the Wolf King stated calmly. "But this isn't in the law. You don't stand a chance. The law has it that when the alpha and the luna get a divorce, the alpha gets to keep the tribe and the luna gets only half of the couple's shared property."
