Matthew sat alone on the terrace behind his house, looking at the garden area at the back. Pascal, who had just returned after delivering Lily's belongings, approached Matthew and sat next to him. He handed Matthew a pack of cigarettes.
Matthew shook his head while showing the cigar in his hand. He then turned to Pascal. "Have you delivered all of Lily's things?"
"Lily took it herself," Pascal replied.
"How is she?" asked Matthew.
"Her face looked like she had been crying. I also saw her male friend whom you saved last time," Pascal said.
Matthew took a deep breath. He then took a deep breath from the cigar in his hand. Matthew then softly laughed while blowing smoke from his mouth and nose. "At least I know she's not alone."
"He's the guy Lily was in a relationship with?" Pascal asked.
Matthew nodded his head. "I thought vampires couldn't feel pain. It turns out my heart hurts a lot right now. I suddenly felt suffocated."
