Matthew looked at Lily with a long sigh. Matthew's index finger tapped the table in front of them. "I don't know how to start this conversation."
Lily took a deep breath. "Just say what's on your mind."
"Are you sure you want to hear firsthand what's on my mind?" asked Matthew.
"Say it," answered Lily.
Matthew took a deep breath. "I'm disappointed in you, Lily."
"I know." Lily nodded her head. She was trying to avoid Matthew, who looked at her very intensely.
"What should we have to do? I'm confused now. Should we continue our engagement?" asked Matthew.
"It's up to you. I won't force you to continue our engagement. It must be hard for you," said Lily.
Matthew takes a deep breath. "I can't believe you did this to me, Lily. I thought you loved me. You always said you loved me the first time you saw me."
"I do. I love you–"
"But—" Matthew snapped.
Lily shakes her head. "No, but-"
