Just before lunchtime, the plane carrying Matthew, Sigmund, and Freddie arrived in Texas. During the journey, Sigmund kept in touch with Captain Smith. From his communication with Captain Smith, Sigmund learned that Captain Smith and his superiors were now in New York.
At first, Sigmund was confused because Captain Smith said his superiors ordered him to catch vampires in the city. But finally, what Matthew said answered Sigmund's confusion. Matthew got word from Lily that Ryan had suddenly contacted him. Before ending the call, Lily informed Ryan that Matthew was on his way to New York.
"Lily helped without us knowing it," said Sigmund after he learned the information Lily had given Matthew.
"Perhaps Lily was trying to tell Ryan that we were trying to free him. She thought fast by saying we were going to New York. The last place Ryan went to," said Matthew.
