Wha- What is she talking about right now?! I was sweating nervously. Goddamnit, I was going to eventually ask her this question but I would have never expected that SHE will be the one to ask first!
"U-Um-mhm, ahhhh… let's continue this conversation somewhere far, ok?"
She nodded. She looked rather serious there. I guess I need to be serious about this too then. Now, where should we go- Wait, we shouldn't leave Eric alone here. I told Eric to come to me and I called for a servant. I told the servant to call for either of my family members to come and after a while, my father came.
"I'm here now, what's wrong?"
"Oh, Otosan can you please look after Eric for a while pwease? Me and Kaguya are going to go somewhere private."
"Oh, that's it? I was running here because I thought something happened but it was only for this… Fine, I am quite free at this time but come back later because I might work again soon."
"Ok, thanks Otosan!"
For an emperor of an empire this large, he sure has a lot of free time. I mean, there is nothing wrong with that, in fact, that is quite good but I wonder how he has a lot of free time. Anyways, I asked my sister where we should go and she told me we should go to her room.
Her room, huh? I've never gone to any of my family member's rooms before ever since we got here so this will be my first time. I wonder how different her room is from mine. I followed my sister until we finally got to her door. I wonder if I was just imagining things but I'm pretty sure my sister had a very serious expression on her face while I followed her. Why am I getting nervous all of the sudden?
She opened the doors and what I saw just shocked me. It wasn't enough to completely overwhelm me but it was still quite the surprise.
A large room, not as big as mine, was filled to the brim with books and shelves and cabinets. What the hell is she going to use those for?! The room is decorated with blue and black wallpaper that reminds me of the deep dark sea. There was a large desk, filled to the brim with various books. A bed, not as big as mine but it was still quite big, was also filled with books. From what I could see, I can't seem to find any toys or such, there really only books in here.
At least it was somewhat organized, but isn't this way too many books for a 3-year-old?! What were my parents thinking when they thought it was a good idea to give her this many books… Also, where the hell did they get this much wallpaper from? I heard blue was very rare and expensive in medieval periods and yet the entire room is filled to the brim with it?!
I mean it looks cool but… never mind, I forgot for a second that we were royalty so this should have been normal. The main colors here are blue, purple, and black, with the exception of books, clothes, and other miscellaneous stuff which were vibrant with various different colors.
This is not what I was expecting for a girl's room but if she is someone reincarnated, maybe she had this kind of taste. I can't deny but it is quite cool to look at. She went and sat down on her bed and I grabbed the chair that was under the desk and sat on it. She looked like she was thinking something deeply for a while until she finally talked.
"So, are you a reincarnated person like me or not?"
"...Yes."
Her eyes suddenly were filled with excitement and happiness as if she was waiting for this moment for a long time.
"Yes! Finally, I met someone like me! Oh, you don't know how long I've been waiting for this moment!"
Woah, her personality suddenly changed. Her usual quiet self is now gone. This is a surprise.
"So you really are a reincarnated one? Well, to be honest, I was also waiting to find someone like me too."
"Eh, really? Same. Oh yeah, should we introduce ourselves? Like our previous lives?"
Hmm, she really is going to do that? I wonder if I should… Oh well, I guess there's no harm in doing this so might as well.
"Sure. How about you first?"
"Okay then. I was Ichika Katayama, 12 years old and I lived in Yokohama, Japan before I died."
"Wait, wait. Ichika? Are you that prodigy girl that was in K*wahara?"
"Oh, so you know me? Now, that's a surprise… so how exactly do you know me?"
"Umm… how should I say this… Oh! Remember the one guy with who you compete in almost everything? That was me!"
"Ah! You are that drunk Onii-chan!"
Drunk Onii-chan? Why the hell am I called that? I've never drunk alcohol before in my entire life! What is she talking about?
"Why are you calling me that? Also, do you not remember my name?"
"Your name… umm… oh that's right, Kazumi, am I correct?"
"Yeah, correct. Also, what's with the weird nickname?"
"Oh, that… that was the nickname that I called you, remember? After all, whenever you get serious, you start swinging your sword very weirdly as if you were drunk. If I can remember, you even named it as-"
"OK OK! You don't have to remind me of that!"
God, I never thought I would remember those times… It was very embarrassing. She chuckled and laughed when I stopped her and I too was laughing. I never thought I would actually find someone I knew in this world.
Ichika Katayama, someone who was called a prodigy in almost everything in her school, was one of the rivals and friends I had in kendo. I first met her when I was 13 years old when I first started kendo. She was a student there for quite some time and she was called a prodigy in kendo as well. She was 3 years younger than me but she was already better than me in almost everything whether it is physically or in literature. I eventually got to talk to her and we became friends almost immediately because of kendo and novels. We usually talk about novels whenever we have the time and we compete in almost anything.
It was one of my best memories of all time. I never thought I would see her again here. I'm actually happy to meet her again. In all the times we were together, I usually treated her as if she was my little sister. And now, she actually became my real sister!
"We have a lot to catch up on! Let's start talking."
