"I mean, who wouldn't be happy about this?!"
'Yeah yeah, weirdo.'
"Oh, you-"
I was about to say that when I suddenly detected something coming in my direction, no, two of them. They seem to be humanoid… oh, it's my siblings. Were they coming to save me? Aren't they way too late though? I mean I did defeat the dragon relatively quickly but they aren't this slow.
'Oh wait, hey Lia! Can you fix my clothes, please?'
'Ok… sure, but why?'
'Just do it!'
And my clothes got fixed as if nothing happened.
"Tomo-chan! Where are you- ah, there you are!"
"Hi, Nee-san. By the way, you and Aniki are quite late."
"Oh, about that. We are very sorry about that! We didn't notice that a dragon went to you until it was too late. Speaking of which, where is it?"
"Oh, I ate it."
"Eh? W-What do you mean?"
"Uh, I devoured it with one of my skills."
"Um, can you clarify?"
"Um like I absorbed it? Oh, did you think that I ate it with my mouth?!"
She nodded. Bruh, she really thought that I ate it as if I was eating a buffet. Wait, I wonder what dragon meat tastes like… Anyway, I should've said it properly so we wouldn't have come to this misunderstanding. I just chuckled and explained what I did. She looked embarrassed when I said that, how cute. I also told her that I was fine. It's a good thing that my clothes got fixed through magic, or else I would need to have explained what exactly happened.
'You really don't think before you talk, didn't I tell you to think before you say something so that something like this won't happen?'
'Yeah yeah, I know. Gosh, your personality changed so much in these past few months.'
'Ain't my fault.'
Anyways, they both apologized to me for being late and I just said that it was fine but they keep on apologizing. Man, I know that it would have been bad but I was really fine. Also, I should ask them why they were late.
"How about this, instead of apologizing to me, how about you tell me why you guys were late? I know you guys are not this slow, so what happened?"
"About that… I think you didn't hear it because you were focusing on your fight but we were fighting with dragons as well."
"Wait, really? What happened?!"
"Let me continue the explaining, Nee-san. Ok, so there was a group of dragons that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. We thought we should defeat all of them because a group of dragons would be pretty devastating and there are mostly Lesser Dragons so we thought it would be quick. But, we accidentally let one of them escape… we didn't notice it until it was too late because your sister here cast [Magic Jamming] in the area which distorted our detection skills a bit so… yeah…"
Oh, so the dragon I fought was the dragon that got away then. So it wasn't because I had the [Dragon Slayer] title that the dragon suddenly came towards me, maybe it thought I was easy prey or something so that's why it attacked me instead of my siblings. Either way, they fought a group of dragons?! I wish I could have seen that… Oh yeah, I wonder what I could do with those materials, hehehe. I could probably get some skills too…
"So, what happened to the dragons? Did you completely defeat them?"
"Of course we did! Me and your brother here didn't have trouble defeating them, except for that one thing that we said earlier."
"Woah, so cool! Oh yeah, what happened to the dragon corpses?"
"Hmm, we just left it there because we were too focused on getting here. Oh wait, I completely forgot that dragon parts are very valuable, should we head back and gather those?"
"Yeah, and maybe we can use some of it for our own, you know? I was actually thinking of upgrading my staff so this might be a good chance to do it."
My sister winked. She was thinking the same way as I did, huh. I guess she and I think alike, she really is my sister. I nodded and we immediately went to the battlefield. We arrived and I was shocked. The area that we went to is the same open area that we stopped by but it looks completely different!
The place was more spacious, it had lots of craters that varied in size, many corpses of dragons were scattered all over it, there are still traces of the battle here as I still see flames in some of the corpses, some large ice, and rock pillars that looked like it sprout out of the ground, and lastly, the magicules in the area. The magicule flow and density in this area changed so much that any creature that is less than B rank might get magicule poisoning from this. Yup, I could just imagine what happened here without hearing all of the details.
"Hey, Tomo-chan. You said you devoured the dragon that you fought, right?"
"Yes?"
"When I learned that you can devour stuff, I was imagining you destroying the materials while you devour it like how eating works. But can you absorb something without damaging or destroying the materials?"
"I could. Do you want me to store all of these dragon corpses?"
"Yes, please…"
"Alright then. But before that, do you want me to store them as it is, or do you want me to also separate the materials into different piles for easier use?"
"Wait, you can do that? If so, then can you separate the materials so that we won't have to pay to dismantle them. I've heard it is pretty pricey as well since dragons have a very strong body to just dismantle it."
"Alright then. Devour it all, [Gluttony]!" I set the size to only cover the area where the corpses of the dragons are but I forgot that it was still quite a big area so my siblings were super surprised when it happened. I explained to them that this is how my skill works and there is nothing to worry about. I mean, this skill is pretty scary to look at and use but there aren't any side effects of this so it is fine.
After a while, I finally finished devouring all of the corpses and let my [Unique Skill: Knowledge] sort all of the materials while we were heading back to the palace. To be honest, this was a very stressful day. It was just the first day of the semester and it was this hectic, I hope that something like this won't happen again.
'Finally, we are going back. I was worried that I was going to do more useless work again.'
'Hey, stop that attitude of yours! Why did you even change this much anyways?'
'Oh, you already know why. After all, this blunt attitude of mine is one of the types that you like, remember? Besides, after watching your memories for so long, I would naturally change, you know?'
'And that's why I told you to stop looking at my memories! It is a bad influence on you and now look what happened to you!'
'Ugh, it's quite sad that there isn't internet in this world. If there was then I would have watched more videos from that Y*utube thingy. If I was in my original form, I could probably have gotten internet as long as I have the coordinates of your previous world…'
'Oh yeah, I forgot that you have an original form. This current form of yours is just one of the two spirits you created, right?'
'Yup, too bad that I can't use my original form.'
If anyone is confused as to what we were talking about, it's perfectly normal, or at least they should be. This is one of the reasons why my spirit is special, and it's that it wasn't a spirit before, or at least originally. This spirit I have right now… is one of the Goddesses of Time, Chronoa, or more accurately a clone of her.
Apparently, all of the gods and goddesses create some types of each race from time to time. For example, the Goddess of Water sometimes creates a special race of mermaids that would be created in her image which would make them her descendants in some way. That is also true with other gods like making multiple races of elves and such.
But there is one rule that every god must follow, no matter what god they are or how powerful they are, they must make at least one spirit of their own. It is pretty simple but some gods don't want to create things because of laziness, one of them is the Goddess of Time, Chronoa. But since it is a rule that she needs to do, she decided to create two spirits, a lesser one and a greater one and never made anything else.
Now, normally gods create races where it would be considered that their creations will be something like their children and therefore making them descendants of gods. This is also the reason why Elves are usually known as descendants of Gods, it was because they are created by Gods. However, Chronoa decided to change some stuff and made her spirits by cloning herself.
Cloning herself means these spirits would have a portion of her power and a copy of her memories, like a typical clone. This is why, despite Aurelia being a Lesser Spirit, is able to use powerful spells levels higher than her and has a larger magicule count than I do. This is also why she developed an ego so easily because she already has memories and such, she doesn't have access to those memories until I named her.
Of course, she doesn't have all of the memories since she is the lesser one but it is still enough to prove her existence as one of the clones of the Goddess of Time. Also, the memories she has can't be seen by anyone due to them being protected by a spell made by the Goddess herself but she can tell me it, she just doesn't do it.
Now, you would think that if she has the memories of the Goddess of Time, she would act just like her but from what I know by reading about ego and stuff from that sl*me isekai and from my own experience, that is not the case at all. True, she might have some traits that would be similar to her original self but they are completely different existences.
Also, the amount of memories that she can access is limited as the number of memories acquired depends on evolution, but she can't go any higher than a Higher Spirit. The only way to access more is to fuse herself with the Greater Spirit of Time, which would take a long time since we have no idea where it is. We do know that it can't be summoned like her but we can get it if we go to a specific place and the person summoning it must have the Lesser Spirit of Time as a requirement.
Lucky for me, I do have her but I can't get the Greater Spirit of Time anytime soon as long as I don't know where exactly should we go. Also, I don't know what the difference between them so I don't know if getting the greater Spirit of Time would be useful. I did hear from her that if I did manage to get both of the Spirits of Time, I would be able to get the Goddess of Time herself as a reward which I don't know if I should make that one of my goals but it might be fun.
Now there is something very good about my spirit that I haven't talked about and it is the skills that I got when I formed a contract with her but I'll talk about that later. After all, we are about to reach the palace soon, we were running towards there this whole time but I don't know why we didn't just use teleportation. I guess I would find out soon enough.
